Petulant Pountings on Two Towers
Review of The Lord Of The Rings - The Two Towers DVD by
silwni
Advantages: Watchable, colourful, powerful, entertaining gorgeous heroes
Disadvantages: Too many - story changes & chopping about, too much on battles
...First I apologise if I repeat anyone else's comments, I do not have time sadly to read every review on the topic.....
I find there are two responses that I feel to this film. One is from a reader who has freshly re-read Two Towers, and the other is from a simple observer of the film. (Well actually as a drama graduate I do look at it in more detail than that, but ordinary folk might find it a little picky.) As a recent reader with the written tale fresh in my mind I was disappointed in much of it. Radical changes such as Faramir's character being power hungry like Boromir when the book was at pain's to point out his different personality to his brother, was I thought, really a spoiler. It was made worse by taking Frodo and co. to Minas Tirith. Had that happened in the book the story would have ended in failure. If the ring wraiths...

A (Two) Towering Inferno
Review of The Lord Of The Rings - The Two Towers DVD by
steerpyke
Advantages: more epic adventure from Jackson
Disadvantages: a slower and dark film than the first
...The second film in Peter Jackson's vision of bringing Tolkien's epic story to the screen is the real test for the viewer. After a light beginning and an easy storyline, the saga fractures into three separate interwoven tales, is slower going and the dark shadows of a world shattering war begin to hang over the land. It is the heaviest part of the tale in many ways but is only a reflection of the book. Any good story requires a beginning, middle and an end, and that is the simplest way to look at the three films. Fellowship of the Ring sets up the overall themes and introduces the characters. The Return of The King is the epic finale, heroes are made, dramatic victories are achieved and like all good tales everyone gets their just desserts. The Two Towers is the vehicle between the two. That may be doing it a disservice as it is, in its...

The Two towers
Review of The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers (PS2) by
Kimea
Advantages: Read my op :o)
Disadvantages: Read my op :o)
...Remarkable adaptation of the book of J.R.R. Tolkien, the Lord of the Rings shines of thousand fires out of PlayStation 2. Accurately taking again the screen of second film of Peter Jackson, the Two Tower, the play, profits from a preparing which should not leave indifferent the hordes of fans. You will have the possibility of slipping to you, with the choice, in the skin of valiant Aragorn, the slender Legolas elf, or the proud Gimli dwarf before leaving to face the troops of orcs and other Nazguls. Very directed action, this adventure will thus allow you rejouer the largest scenes of film, like the Pit of Helm, to leave to defy Saroumane but also to revisit certain places of first film, like the caves of Moria. Licence of film obliges, the actors were modelled perfectly, the finely recreated places and the music used with masterliness...

The Lord of the Rings - The Two Towers
Review of The Lord Of The Rings - The Two Towers DVD by
paula_tanser
Advantages: Awesome film
Disadvantages: Numb Bum
...(Please Note: I originally posted this opinion on the Ciao cafe, as the Product for the Two Towers was not available). I've contacted Ciao and my origingal op is going to be deleted.
The Lord of the Rings – The Two Towers
Couldn’t wait for this film to come out, so I went to an advanced screening on Wednesday 18th December.
The film opens up with various mountain scenery (presumably the Misty Mountains), and then we are drawn to an area of the mountains. When you start to get closer, we hear voices and they grow louder as we get nearer. The voices are of that of Gandalf, Frodo and the rest of the fellowship, crossing the bridge of Kazad-dum.
Gandalf is the last to cross, and if you’ve seen the 1st instalment ‘The Fellowship of the Ring’ you’ll know that he battles the Balrog of Morgoth. As the balrog falls into the void...

Lord of the Rings, The Two Towers
Review of The Lord Of The Rings - The Two Towers DVD by
mr.wibble
Advantages: Fantastic Real Fantasy Adventure
Disadvantages: Still Have To Wait For The End
...From listening to peoples comments about the 2 Lord of the Rings movies, they fall into one of 3 broad categories.
1. Those that love the books and love the movies.
2. Those that have never read the books, but still love the movies
3. Those that are still wondering what all the fuss is about!
Now I have read both the Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings and was completely captivated by them. I feel a great appreciation for the skill and imagination Tolkien needed to pull this all together. Before we go any further…make an effort to read the books. You will not regret it!
I thoroughly enjoyed the Fellowship of the Ring movie and have been waiting with great anticipation for the release of the Two Towers. My Wife and I made time over the Christmas holidays to see the movie and this is what we thought:
The Two Towers had a lot...

the two towers
Review of Lord of the Rings:The Two Towers (PS2) by
cheeky123
Advantages: Easy controlls ,good allround game, clips from the film
Disadvantages: too short and some really tricky bits
...The lord of the ring the two towers is a really brill game.some bits are easy and some bits are very hard.I really enjoyed the game, anyway.
The game has brilliant graphics and the characters almost look life like its a pretty easy game to pick up on.
At the begining of the game it starts off with clips and then you go on to some practice bit with ishildor so you can get the basic controlls by getting him to kill orcs and then in a movie clip it shows him killing souron.
The actual game starts with bits from the fellowship like the ringwraiths on weather top where aragorn battles them this isnt too tricky.
You can do each level with one of the 3 characters aragorn gimli or legolas if you do a certain amount of levels with one person you get bonus bits like films of the actors but if you do about 10 levels with one person...

The Two Towers
Review of The Lord Of The Rings - The Two Towers DVD by
RHawkins17
Advantages: Visionary epic, remains consistent with 1st part
Disadvantages: Trying to stay awake for the full duration
...Dare I say this, but I'm not that bothered about The Lord Of The Rings I'm more into endless repeat viewings of Terminator 2. As with everything I feel it is just a little too over-hyped. Nevertheless it is indeed epic and perfect as a film could get in the majority view. The Two Towers follows up the groundwork laid by The Fellowship Of The Ring, the impression has been made and characters established. So now it moves onto a lot of orc squablings, Golem, Frodo's diminishing sanity caused by the ring, issues of other parts of Middle-Earth, a big fight scene involving 10,000 super orcs and 300 men, women and children and a sky diving-sword fighting (at the same time) Gandalf.
Golem takes a share of the spotlight this time after lurking in the shadows in moments of the last part and you know what? He's not super annoying like many...

Two Years On - Part 2 of 3
Review of The Lord Of The Rings - The Two Towers (Special Extended Edition)(Collector's Gift Set) by
adamsputnik
Advantages: still as epic in scope and visuals, great acting, final battle is atmospheric and affecting, extra footage fleshes the story out nicely
Disadvantages: I still didn't find it quite as magical as the first
...Among the various interesting and amusing gifts that I received during our yuletide, er sorry Christmas season just recently, one of the more practical and, well, unexpected ones was the lovely and expensive 4-disc special extended super duper whizbang Two Towers DVD, which of course is released just nicely to coincide with the release of the grand finale. I did actually manage to fit in watching the first half of Two Towers before we were unable to contain our excitement, collectively, and went and saw the Return of the King on Boxing Day.
This Special Extended Super Duper Whizbang Edition of the movie features, of course, about 45 minutes or suchlike of extra footage that was omitted in the cinematic version to appease the ADD-afflicted amongst us, those of us who were foolish enough to take small, fidgety children, and also...
