T/X a disappointment
Review of Palm T|X by
JayBishop
Advantages: Modernized for communications
Disadvantages: Steps backward for user-friendliness
...A step backward from the Tungsten T, my previous palm. The T/X has not moved forward, design-wise. And cut some useful features. No charge-indicator LED. Screen less responsive. It seems like its forever resetting itself, losing a number of settings along the way. Bottom of screen permanent virtual buttons are not user-configurable! BAD! This is not a happy camper! And this: now extra $ for cradle, which is badly designed, with insufficient place for wires in the back and a useles, wasteful full-time glow. T/X has no "back" button, like on Sony palms, that was a brilliant function for navigation. Tungsten spring-loaded stylus was lightning fast to deploy, even in hardshell case. Latter case also allowed headphones. Now T/X has done away with both possibilities. Awkward to use. And apparently a slower processor than in its immediate...

PALM TX users Review -
Review of Palm TX by
axeman1
Advantages: Easy to use, fast, and capable
Disadvantages: No Cradle
...I have worked the TX in a busy environment. utilising the WIFI, bluetooth and email, sms and mp3 ona daily basis. I must say it is very reliable, fast and easy to use.
It is a great all round personal management tool. Slip a 1gig expansion card in it and you have plenty of room for mp3s, pdf docs, word, excel files and ebooks.
Battery life is good however extensive use of wifi does drain it somewhat quickly but i've never experienced full drain.
The media section for videos and photos is high quality and the video playback is excellent but is slow to load if you have a very very large photo library on an expansion card.
Its a shame it didn't come with a cradle (extra)...

Good quality at a price
Review of Panasonic TX 14GV1 by
cp
Advantages: Save space
Disadvantages: VCR picture quality could be better
...i have just purchased a Panasonic TX14GV1 television/VCR and I am very pleased with it. The TV picture are sound quality are good and the VCR picture quality, although perhaps not as good as on the traditional, stand alone VCR, is still very acceptable. The Panasonic TX14GV1 has a twin tuner, so it can record one programme while you watch another. It also has a full clock timer, text, and will tune itself in automatically. So for a bedroom or if space is limited this model is really a good alternative to a television and a separate VCR. For around £250 I find this product good value....

Protecting your PDA
Review of Proporta Alu-Leather Case Book Type by
Mainflava
Advantages: Good looks, good protection
Disadvantages: Not a snug fit
...So, you've spent your hard earned cash on a brand spanking new Palm PDA and you intend carrying it around with you on a daily basis. To guard the screen from unwanted scratches, you've applied one of those peel and stick protectors, but what about the rest of the device?
Faced with a similar scenario and not wanting to add years to my brand new, shiny bright Palm TX, I searched around for a cover for my new toy. The two main options available at the time were all-aluminium, fully enclosed cases or, the Proporta Alu-leather case. A quick search around the internet revealed mixed opinions on both cases and , more frustratingly, a lack of information regarding the compatibility with the Palm TX - many reviews at the time suggested that the Palm TX did not fit the cases or, where the TX did fit, the case provided a very slip...

Wonderful wireless bridge
Review of Buffalo AirStation Turbo G High Power WLI-TX4-G54HP - bridge by
ncdave4life
Advantages: best way to get a wired ethernet port at the other end of a wireless connection
Disadvantages: none
...11 Wireless Ethernet Bridge, which is similar, but the Buffalo WLI-TX4-G54HP is better in every way. It is much easier to set up (via a simple web interface, and access to the 1.1.1.1 configuration port), it has great range, it has 4 ports instead of 1, and it has been totally trouble-free. With the Linksys WET11, the only way I can get back to the configuration screen after setting it up is to reset the device and start from scratch. With the Buffalo WLI-TX4-G54HP, its default configuration/status address is 1.1.1.1 after a reset, but you can change it to something in your local subnet, so you can still get to the configuration/status page after it is set up. Nice!
Buffalo also has some similar products with just one ethernet port, instead of four. Those are the products with "TX1" in the model number, instead of "TX4."...

Good tv, but with a flaw...
Review of Panasonic TX 28DK1 by
markedwards
Advantages: Good appearance and easy to use
Disadvantages: Poor alignement in widescreen mode
...We have recently bought a Panasonic TX28 DK1 - the nicam widescreen, but non-flat screen and non-dolby version, of their 28" tv.
It looks great and has easy to use functions and menus.
Only problem we have spotted is in the widescreen modes. I've read from looking around that you can get "s'ing" on the vertical edges of widescreen tv's in 4:3 format, but the TX28 DK1 has a similar problem on the top and bottom horizontal edges too.
The edges have a small, but perceptible slant. You might think this was simply rotation of the guns at the back of the tube, but they are fixed (the engineer has had a look!).
We rejected the first set but the second is exactly the same, making me think this is not an isolated problem we have been unlucky enough to get.
Take a look when buying it. Otherwise its a great tv....

This has to be the best LCD TV I have seen
Review of Panasonic TX-32LXD700 by
fatboyslim
Advantages: Ease of use, superb picture quality, superb sound quality
Disadvantages: NONE
...I would like to begin my review by pointing out the following.
Previous to me owning the Panasonic TX-32 LXD700 I had owned for 9 days a Panasonic TH-37PX70 Plasma TV, which I returned to the shop in exchange for the Panasonic TX-32 LXD700, the reason for this was the following. I own a Play station 3, as some of you may know, Plasma TV's can suffer from image burn / image retention, this basically means that if a static image is on the screen for an amount of time, e.g. a channel logo on digital TV or a still graphic off of a games console for example a speedometer (in my case) off of a racing game, then there is a good possibility that this image will be still visibly when you start to watch TV especially on a dark scene. Prior to me purchasing the Panasonic TH-37PX70 Plasma TV I had asked the sales assistant if the Plasma TV would...

I'M BACK!
Review of Terminator 3 - Rise Of The Machines DVD by
robinsky
Advantages: A very good film
Disadvantages: Minor Things About The Film
...Arnold Schwarzenegger comes back to play the Terminator, though he's come back, like he did in Terminator 2, as the good guy. Also sent back through time is the T-X (Kristanna Loken) who has got menacing new abilities such as to control other machines and built-in weaponry. John Connor has been trying to stop himself from being found by SkyNet but the T-X has been sent back to kill Connor's future lieutenants. She succeeds in killing a couple of them and then she goes to find Katherine Brewster(Claire Danes).
John Connor has had a motorcycle accident and has gone to a veterinary clinic to take some drugs. Later, Katherine locks him up and then she discovers that a woman who came in to see Kate has been shot and as she tries to get away, the T-X attacks her but she is saved by the T-850.
Later, it is discovered that Sarah Connor died...

Terminator 3...is this the end?
Review of Terminator 3 - Rise Of The Machines DVD by
blissman70
Advantages: More great action
Disadvantages: a little short of the previous 2
...Director: Jonathan Mostow
Producers: Hal Lieberman, Mario F.Kassar, Joel B.Micheals, Andrew G Vajna and Colin Wilson
Writers: Micheal Ferris, Tedi Sarafian and John D. Brancato
Starring: Arnold Schwarzenegger, Kristanna Loken, Nick Stahl, David Andrews and Claire Danes .
Released 2003 this third film was, in my opinion, a bit of a let down compared to the first two, but don't get me wrong, it is still worth watching.
The year is 2004 and we see John Conner, (played by Nick Stahl), living on the streets of L.A. as he avoids being followed by the authorities.
But again, in the year 2029 another terminator is sent back by Skynet to terminate John, after the previous failings in 1984 an 1987.
This Terminator is a more advanced model called the T-X (played by the Kristanna Loken), the first female Terminator to grace the movies.
The T-X...
