Honda Accord Type-S 2004 2.4

Advantages: fast, handling, excellent transmission
Disadvantages: bigger brakes, no trip computer

...Well a year and a half has past since my last review and so i give you my latest installment. My year old new car is now up for review! The New shape 2004 Honda Accord Type-S! I have driven the car for 31K miles now all in a year and a half, so i think i've expereiced things that people would normally experience in 3 years or more lol! I bought the car in late 2004 for a very good price (please see my further advice below). Here I'll review the ownership of the vehicle, as well as discuss possible problems, including those I've experienced! Honda Accord. Type S.

Advantages: spacious, refined, different and very quick
Disadvantages: none that ive come across

...I recently bought a Honda accord type S after lots of looking on the internet and at garages for a new car. And im glad i did. I wont go into the technical stuff here, get your self a brouchure from a garage for the facts and figures, but i will tell you about my experince. ********** I have had feedback on this Op surgesting that I do put in the tech stuff. And of course, I am always happy to comply !!!! Honda accord type S.. 2.4 litre, 4 cylinder in-line all aluminium DOHC i-VTEC engine (that means, Duel Over Head Cam and Variable valve Timing and Electronic lift Control, apparently). Producing 190 bhp with a top (limited) speed of 142mph. 0-60 comes arround in 7.9 secs, but as I have said, the time is less than this for sure (one day i will check it out with a stop watch). The gear box is 6 speed, so get used to changing...

My life with the 'S' type

Advantages: Looks
Disadvantages: Not as quiet as I had expected

...I have owned my 3litre auto 'S' type since June 1999 and have covered over 40,000 miles. The car was supplied with most of the possible accessories (except satellite nav - far too expensive, and CAT suspension). The car was an early production model so (I suspect) suffered from some extra problems. Excessive road noise was cured by the fitting of a 'German Autobahn' sound deadening kit (free of charge) and made quite a difference. Service costs have been kept to the Jaguar guarantee of £150 + vat (every 10,000). Fuel consumption on high speed motorway journeys can top 30mpg, but 26mpg is the average. One amazing feature of the car is Jaguars ability to change the entire software when in for a service. The latest software upgrade (to cure a minor problem with the airconditioning) has had an unbelievable effect on the 0-60mph...

Type R? Type Rubbish!

Advantages: road handling
Disadvantages: after sales care, uncomfortable ride, noisy

...BOLTED on (discovered at time of repair). The original brackets were left mangled and rusted and the new bumper had been attached using nuts and bolts. Not the quality of vehicle I would expect to purchase from a main dealer! I will never ever buy Honda again. The after sales care is worse than diabolical. The Type R is so common now. They are everywhere. The ride comfort is sacrificed in order to be able to take corners at speed. It?s not the kind of vehicle to take on long journeys - not only are you unable to walk afterwards but you can?t listen to the radio or have a conversation over the noise of the engine. And now that I have an Astra VXR, the Type R really isn?t that quick! Honda Civic Type-R (2005)

...I have owned a Honda Civic Type R (2005 Model) for around six months now. I had many concerns about the car before buying it, however not one of these concerns still hangs over my ownership. I chose to buy a red example, but this is personal preference. I was concerned about the road noise of the car, given the stiff suspension and low profile tyres, as I do a fair amount of motorway miles. So far, I've barely noticed. I don't find the road noise too intrusive, only on the most harsh of road surfaces. Even then, the sweet engine note is more than enough compensation. The hard suspension is a bit of an issue over speed bumps - not to the point that you hear bottoming out noises, but it will certainly throw you around if you don't slow down. The low-set stance of the car has also caused me to scrape my front splitter (lower bumper...

2007 Type R FN2 - A Great Car

...I drove past the Honda Garage in October whilst looking for a Ford Focus ST (to be honest I hadnt even thought about the CTR) and saw that they had a 57 reg milano red type r with 9000 miles for £14995. My budget was 12000 plus the part exchange value of my previous fiat (total of about £14000). I was sceptical about getting £1000 knocked off but thought it would be worth a shot. I took the car out for a test drive and was impressed at how easy the car was to drive about town. I was getting 29mpg which was very impressive (dont get that any more sadly!) ...I managed to get a ride in a 2004 Type R recently. My fist impression is that the car is a bit plasticy, although rattle free, but from the feel of the interior, the racing-style seats, I kinda figured you don't buy a Type-R for the awesome interior so further interior opinions won't be forthcoming. Put your foot hard down, and off it goes. Not blisteringly quickly infact, I was initially suprised about how not-fast it seemed, but I am afraid what they say is true - you hit about 6km, VTEC does indeed kick in, and it's off like a rocket.. ...unfortunately, you are then introduced to the rev limiter a tad sooner than I'd have liked - although the car revs to 8500rpm it doesn't take very long to get there.
