...The first theme park on my trip to Orlando was Typhoon Lagoon. I had last been there in about 1992 so was interested to see it again. Typhoon Lagoon is part of the Disney family and was opened in 1989. The idea behind the park is that it was created as the result of a huge storm which caused the rapids to form and the boats to be blown there from a nearby fishing village. As with everything Disney, this is another land of make believe! LOCATION: Typhoon Lagoon is part of the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando. ...Typhoon Lagoon is one of the three water parks held in the Disney Park area. The others ones are Blizzard Beach and River Country. I have to say though this was my favourite of the two. FOOD Around the different areas there will be somewhere for cocktails, pastries or even hot food. When I was there I went to a food stall beside the main pool which sold hotdogs, turkey legs and drinks. It wasn't very expensive and it was nice. There was nowhere to sit though, you sat on a sunbed on the beach, or chairs. The day I went here I prayed for it to be sunny, and I was very lucky it was one of the hottest days of my holiday. Make a splash at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon

...the park opens. If you are driving there is a car park that is free outside the park although it is on the smallish side so get there early to be certain of a space! If the weather is overcast and inclement check that the water park is open before you set off as they do not always open when the weather is bad in winter. Also check which water park is open as not all three water parks are always open in winter. Eating: Eating is a bit of a nightmare here at Typhoon Lagoon as they only have 2 cafes which are always extremely busy by lunchtime., If you can try and eat early or be prepared to queue for up to 45 minutes for your burger! They do serve alcohol (beer and wine) here but it's one drink per ID and they are very strict about this (as someone in the queue in front of me told me about 4 times in the hour I was waiting even though...

Advantages: Safe for the whole family and lots to do
Disadvantages: Swimming can only be done so long

...is the star attraction and it is wonderful how they have managed to fit everything around this great idea. There are many rides that you can go on with groups or individuals as you swing your way down the flumes to the bottom. At Typhoon lagoon you also are able to scuba dive to the coral reef as the have a filled fish coral reef within the park . There are laso attractions for the young memebrs of the family aswell which makes it a great place for the whole family....

...I purchased my set of Typhoon 2.1 speakers from LIDL a while ago now, and since have had no reason even to think about getting new speakers for my PC or indeed Home Theatre. They cost me £19.99 and I haven't seen them in LIDL again for a while now. They come as a rather neat looking set comprising of a large Sub Woofer which sits under my PC for effect purposes. This piece of the kit is basically just and 8 inch cube with a grey cloth mesh on the front face of the unit, the sounds which come from this section are very deep bass sounds which certainly add a lot of atmospherics to game playing. Along side the Sub Woofer comes two substantially smaller speakers which are designed to sit to the left and right of your PC or Home Theatre System. Advantages: A nice variety of activities, jolly atmosphere, perfect for families, good transport (from disney resort hotels in particular), accomadates all ages!
Disadvantages: Must mind your feet in the surf pool on the rough flooring, fast food, quite expensive but average for the area, queue times

...Typhoon Lagoon, the newest and largest of the water parks in Disney, is a great theme park for a family day out. Me and my family went their last year and thoroughly enjoyed it. Typhoon Lagoon has a good, well thoughtout layout and it is extreamley easy to find what your looking for. The park is set around the surf pool, which I believe has a set of waves every 90 seconds and is as big as 2 football fields. If you fancy it, you can now also surf in the surf pool for 2 hours for an extra charge when the park is closed. The first main attraction when you walk through the gates is the "Castaway Creek" lazy-river style ride which runs around the perimeter of the surf pool. It took us just under an hour to do and took us through some wonderful scenery including things like caves and rivers. You basically just relax in a rubber...

Making a Splash

Advantages: Good selection of things to do.
Disadvantages: None

...I am not really a fan of water parks in general. I am not a particularly strong swimmer and I have to wear glasses as I am very short-sighted so all in all they are not places that I go out of my way to visit. However the Disney water parks are in a different league altogether and I visit them quite happily. I do not know how much a days entry is as we always buy a Disney Pass for our holiday that covers entry. However the car-parking is free which is unusual on a Disney Property. Typhoon Lagoon is probably my favourite of the two Disney parks. The park is built with the theme that a huge storm happened which impaled a fishing boat on top of a mountain and the resulting tides and rapids have continued. The setting is like a tropical island. There are lots of palm trees set around sandy beaches with tropical music drifting...
