...I do not personally own these, though I think my knowledge will still be helpful. I went with my boyfriend recently to set up his cousins new speakers, for some reason he always pays my boyfriend to do these things for him, before even attempting it himself. Well, if you are wanting to use your pc for downloading your music, storing it and listening to it there then these are the perfect solution to getting good quality sound. I personally have a laptop so i can plug into my stereo and play my downloaded music there, But as his computer is in a different room of the house to the stereo system this was perfect. That was before I realised what a difference great sound makes to gaming and audio playback when enjoying a multimedia experience on your home pc. ...Harman/Kardon seem to be taking the multimedia market seriously by releasing a speaker set that wouldn't look out of place in a modern living room/study. With a design that is a welcome change from drab beige boxes, you are sure to attract admiring glances from your friends. These speakers really do look the part with their slim stands, contoured driver enclosures and the imposing black-grey finish. The subwoofer is a neat round cylinder that can be situated on your desk without too much bother. The setup of these speakers is very easy. Every plug is colour-coded to the corrosponding input on your sound card, and the speaker plugs are even shaped so there it's impossible to connect them the wrong way round. ...I bought these speakers to replace the previous set connected to my PC - my old hifi! They were also very reasonably priced, at only £62, which is very reasonable considering the cost of other 2.1 speaker sets in this volume range. The look of them also matched my new PC very well. First impressions The speakers arrived in a well packed box, installation was a breeze, using the supplied quick connect guide, and speaker cables were colour coded. A reasonable manual wa supplied. The speakers felt of a high build quality, and certainly won't not over easily like some cheaper models. However, in terms of sound quality, they didn't seem any better than my old system, which was fairly good, though. ...I've been using these Typhoon speakers now for a while, I purchased them in Aldi for £19.99 which is about what they are currently available for. At the time of purchase they were a great bargain and they still represent good value for money if purchased today. They are described as active wired speakers and come as a four piece set. The two main pieces are two smallish speakers which stand about 5 inches high and form a backwards arc, they are silver grey in colour and I think would go well with most décor. The sound from the two main speakers is excellent and you can hear very specific detail when listening to you music through them. I am currently using mine connected to my PC but they are suitable for using with a decent Hi Fi system and still achieving excellent sound quality. ...I brought my set of tannoys 15 months ago and, at the time,they cost £300.Now,with a little searching around,they can be obtained for under £200. What you get in the box is five satellite speakers(two front,two rear and a centre speaker) plus a seperate powered subwoofer. You also get wall mounted supports for the two front and two rear speakers and all the speaker cables(i changed the cables to 79 stand q.e.d. speaker cable to improve the sound). Setting up the system is relatively easy:you just need an electric drill for the the wall mounted stands and once fitted,you just connect the cables to your home cinema amp. Easy!! Once you have connected everything,it is time to try out the system. My first reaction and i am sure yours will be the same was one of complete disbelief!!
