I will get my tyres somewhere else next time
Review of National Tyres by
dingoo
Advantages: a good selection of tyres
Disadvantages: high price, waiting time, staff memebers
...I drive a diesel ford focus and do over the average number of miles, therefore I change my tyres on a regular basis.
Being a diesel and being heavier on the front end the fron tyres go quicker then the back, when I say go I mean lose the tread.
This is no fault of the car I change them about every 14 months which isnt to bad, I never realy invest in the named brand like pirelli. michelin, or bridgestone.
I usually buy the average make not budget tyres the ones made by the above companies but without the brand name.
The tyres in most places are classed as budget tyres medium cost or brand tyres I always buy the medium cost tyres.
My reason for this is they are made by the brand names and last as long but ar two thirds or even half the price.
National tyres I had never tried before I had used a number of other tyre...

QUICK EASY WAY TO CHECK YOUR TYRE PRESSURES
Review of SAMS Innovations Tyre Pressure Guards by
JAVER1967
Advantages: SAVES YOU MONEY, FUEL COSTS AND ACCIDENTS
Disadvantages: NOT RECOMMENDED FOR SPARE TYRE IN BOOT
...PRESSURE GUARD
I was bought this item about a month ago as a present, and can definitely say it works, and has saved me money. Once I installed them on the car, about two weeks later, I had a slow puncture and the clear indicators gave me an almost immediate alert to the fact, which enabled me to get it fixed straight away, without the possibility of having a complete blow out on the motorway which could have caused a nasty accident.
Fitting them was quick and literally took seconds for each tyre, and once fitted, they constantly measure the tyre pressure.
Most people will tell you that really you should be checking your tyre pressures at least on a weekly basis, but if you are being honest, do you actually do it? Other things seem to take priority, such as you haven't got time, you can't find the pressure gauge, it's a dirty...

Travel Conntact - Great commuting tyres!!!
Review of Continental Travel Contact MTB Tyre With Inner Tube 26 x 1.75 by
panther23
Advantages: kevlar reinforced belt, reflective sidewalls, design, on or off road suitable
Disadvantages: price is quite high but quality, safety and peace in mind costs
...If you have problems with punctures, feel like wheel is to heave or something to use on o off road - this tyres are definitely for you.
I bought them for my bike about 2 years ago. As remember paid about £18 per tyre. They lasted for over one year where cycling about 160 kilometres a week. I was extremely pleased with them. Honestly can not say anything wrong about these tyres. Rolling resistance is very low, so thanks that you should be more about to achieve higher speed. Continental supplied some models with reflective sidewall to increase your safety during nigh. I got this model and have to say that it really works well. As long as you keep your tyres quite clean they will reflect light brilliantly.
The weight of a tyre is:
- 640g folding option
- 690g wired and reflective option
- 670g wired only option
Installation...

Tyred of bad service - Try Kwik Fit
Review of Kwik-Fit Tyre & Exhaust Centres by
freakydeaky
Advantages: My nearest tyre dealer (to home). Excellent service. Reasonable prices.
Disadvantages: None that I found.
...I would like to share my recent experience with these guys. Having had a somewhat 'dubious' reputation in the past they now seem to have got their act together.
I am the proud owner of a 'real' Mini Cooper. (Not one of those BMW fake things! - sorry I'm a bit of a purist.) The reason I mention this is because it is no longer a production car I find it increasingly difficult to find a stockist for the right size tyres.
About 18 months ago I needed a couple of new tyres for the rear of my car and phoned around every where to find stock but couldn't find any. Every one I tried said they could order them in for me by the next day which was pretty good. I decided to go with my local Kwik-Fit as they were within walking distance of my house and I could go home if I needed to leave the car for any length of time. They ordered...

Pilot Exalto - The Duracell of performance tyres.
Review of Michelin Tyres by
LegendaryMrDude
Advantages: Excellent wet performance, Good cornering, Not too noisy, Fantastic wear resistance
Disadvantages: Poor initial traction, take 500 - 600 miles to wear in
...When my OEM-fit Bridgeston Potenza RE040s finally made it down to the tread-wear indicator I had them replaced with a pair of the new Michelin Pilot Exaltos.
In a 205-45/17 fitting these are fairly intimidating beasties. None of your swoopy curves and slashes that look all sexy. Oh no. These purposeful hunks of rubber have three MASSIVE channels running around the tyre combined with some fairly agressive lugs (sipes?) around the outside edge.
The mention of an outside edge indicates that these are directional tyres but maybe not in the strictest sense. The Bridgestones had an arrow indicating the direction of rotation the tyres should be mounted in, which ultimately meant that you could only swap the tyres along the same side of the car. The Pilot Exaltos, on the other hand, have an outside and an inside edge. Obviously you...

Let's Face it we all need tyres GIVE ETYRES A GO
Review of E tyres by
johnny760
Advantages: They come to your door and more FREE Puncture repair too
Disadvantages: some areas are not covered by their service yet
...Hi All
Let's face us we as British motorists get a pretty grim deal at the moment. In my view every penny I save when running my precious car is a very grateful penny saved. So how surprised have I been lately to find a tyre company who not only thinks of its customers first but also rewards them. "Whats the catch" I hear you all shout out. Well as yet I haven't discovered one.
The Product.
So what is this wonderful service? It's not new and it's not revolutionary but it certainly is good value for money. The company I refer to is Etyres an online home or work tyre replacement service. It actually does what it say's on the tin but in this case it dose it extremely well, the web site is both simple and informative. With in seconds after entering your tyre size and details you are taken to a list of every tyre available from...

Tyre Silk, silky smooth or your money back.
Review of Carplan Wet Look Tyre Slik by
skrg28
Advantages: Good finish, not to much shine
Disadvantages: none
...As an avid car cleaning freak I like to have a good selection of products about my garage to finish of a hard mornings car cleaning.
I have purchased various tyre shine products over the years, one of which is CarPlan Tyre Silk
I absolutely hate having a clean car then looking down at the tyres and seeing that brown dirt all around the rubber.
CarPlan tyre silk is available in a whole host of outlets. I get mine from the local car shop at £3.99 a 400ml spray tin. I have also seen it in Halfords and the local focus for a similar price.
Now £3.99, I always feel that car care products are a tad on the expensive side but in this case I do think it is quite reasonable.
PREP
Before I apply this stuff I always like to give the tyres a good scrub with soapy water to get rid of all the dirt and brake dust. You can apply the silk...

The michelin S12 starcross. Motocross tyre
Review of Michelin Tyres by
pug508
Advantages: One of the best Motocross tyres you can buy.
Disadvantages: The high price!
...The michelin are a well known tyre brand in the motocycle backround. Although they come with a heafty price tag you cant really skimp on a quality tyre, after all on a motorbike you've only got the conatct surface of a human foot on the ground,so a quality tyre can help. A back tyre will set you back around £50. Depending on the surface that you use it on the tyre will generally last a few months of riding. If you feel the tyre when its on the bike its quite soft yet it does the job well.
You can see why most of the top riders use this tyre, the pattern is unique.as the name donates it in the shape of a star, providing bloody good grip.
I put the tyre on myself although i wouldn't reccomend it, got a few cuts and bruises to show for it, After that i found i pinched the inner tube TWICE, so i gave in and took it to tyre fitter...

Michelin Tyres
Review of Michelin Tyres by
andycharger
Advantages: Well known brand
Disadvantages: Go out of shape.
...Over the years, I reckon I have had most makes and brands attached to my car.
From this I have been able to be more picky and choosey when buying my new tyres.
I now know whats good, whats bad and what is worth avoiding.
Michelin boast being one of the 2 tyre suppliers to the Formula 1 world championship.
Yet it fails to pass its lessons leared from the track to the consumer.
As much praise as people want to heap on the French Tyre giant, Michelin have always failed to meet my expectations.
I have had these tyres twice. Once through coming with my new car and once through buying them as a replacement.
When we had our new Ford Escort, it came with Michellin XT all around. 175/70/13's were the size we had.
Soon we were experiencing problems with ride quality, particularly under braking or at high speeds.
After several...

A tyre fo all seasons
Review of Panaracer Fire XC Pro Folding Tyre by
Greasylake
Advantages: Grip well in all conditions, durable, roll well
Disadvantages: None I can think of
...I live and ride in South Wales. The man made trais around Afan Argoed and Glyncorrwg, plus all the natural stuff in between, is where you'll most likely find me on my bike. It's wet down here in Wales, but thankfully, there's not much clay, so that really sticky mud you get in some parts of the country isn't too much of a problem down here. I'd experimented with many different types of tyre, before stumbling across these. I'd been riding Tioga 1.9's and going to the Panaracer 2.1's was a breath of fresh air. The increased grip, especially on the front, was amazing, and the rear tyre gripped like a mountain goat. Just make sure you put them on the right way around (follow the arrows on the side wall).
As a tyre that can be used all year round, these are hard to beat. They grip well on the rocky bits, dig in on muddy climbs, and cope...
