...BACKGROUND ******************** I haven't thought about digital cameras for a long time (after I got my Konica Minolta dimage Z1 reviewed at this URL: http://www.ciao.co.uk/MinoltaDiMAGEZ1Review5433573/SortOrder/5). I was so happy with the quality of the pictures I took with this camera, that getting a new one was out of my mind; I've always been told that big lenses = great quality pictures, which was confirmed by my Minolta… Although, big lenses = big camera, which is a pain in itself… I am an avid fan of concerts, and "sneak" a camera in is always a tough job with the Minolta. Then, a few months back, as I was walking in an airport duty-free, I saw a digital camera, big lens, but compact. As tiny as some digital cameras out there… the Panasonic Lumix TZ1. Price tag there: about £400. That calmed me down straight away... Read review

Advantages: Attractive design, clean layout. Conforms to hand well.
Disadvantages: Weak audio recording (8 bit, 8 Khz, Mono).

...display: 2.5" with 207K pixels. Wide horizontal viewing angle. Has a High Angle mode which works well to see the display above your head. Easy to access boost mode which helps outdoors and it does "gain" up for low-light. No reflective coating, however this does not cause a problem since the display is viewed straight on. May want to invest in a clear protective sheet to limit scratches. A few gripes: Given the fact it records good video, why do they have it record sound in low quality? The built-in microphone does pick up sounds okay, however you do notice a difference compared to cameras such as the Canon S2 and Olympus C-770, which record in 16 bit, 44.1 Khz, stereo. With a 2 GB card you can record only ~20 minutes of high quality video. It would have been nice if Panasonic had built-in a better video codec, like MPEG4 to keep the file... Read review

...good pictures in low light situations(with the flash turned off and in 'high sensitivity' mode There are a few things that might turn some buyers down: *size and weight, as I mentioned, this is due to the 10x lens *battery:Does NOT run on regular AA batteries...camera charger is included and battery life is pretty good(unless you take lots of video, my battery died recently after 1 took 1.5 hours of video at a concert with continious zooming in and out) Oh and one word of advice: If (like me) you're planning on taking lots of video with this camera, you'll need a high speed memory card, but please remember the camera doesn't take memory cards larger than 2GB.... ...I needed a replacement for my LZ1 and got myself a Samsug S850. I was so disappointed by it that started looking around again. What I needed was 6x or more of zoom. At first, I wasn\'t even looking at the TZ series as the TZ1 did not have a built in lens protection. However when I was in the shop, I was told that the TZ2 was a great improvement over the TZ1 so I gave it a look. And I was quite impressed by it so I bought it. As I also have a FZ7 for more serious use, I wanted a somewhat compact camera for casual use. However I do not want those small piece of crap by Casio or their likes. I also had a LZ1 in the past and so I am quite familiar with Panasonic cameras. That is the reason I picked the TZ2. My friends are so impressed with this camera that they keep stealing it from me. Advantages: Robust and resilient, looks good

...I\'ve been using one of these for about 12 months now. Mines the cream/black/maroon version. As with all Crumpler bags, it's very sturdy and well made, and lots of practical features but be aware, this bag is most definitely NOT waterproof like most of their other bags, due to the neoprene panels (the main part of the bag is made from their water resistant ChickenTex fabric). Not a problem, just something to be aware of. Also, as with all Crumpler bags, it is very stylish and whilst it's maybe a bit more expensive than other brands, you DO seem to get what you pay for with their products. This little bag has had some serious abuse and apart from being a bit mucky (it's cream in colour - what do you expect), it's in great condition. While baby is' playing with it you can help increase their vocabulary by saying in out and naming the shapes setting them on the way to early geometry, maths learning shape and their qualities. ...I ordered a Panasonic TZ1 camera from BPD on May 30th due to low price & no delivery charge; was even given another £5 off at checkout!...this was by far the lowest price I could get for a camera 'in stock', so I promptly ordered it ( very pleased with myself at this point). Next day noticed the 'scam' reviews on the various forum sites and started to get worried. As it happens I needn't have bothered, received FEDX notification of progress and sure enough the camera was delivered to my place of work early on the following Monday ( 4 day delivery including weekend!) ... camera appears all that it should be and works fine, even if it is sourced in the USA and had an adaptor inside the package to ensure I could utilise the US battery charger. Having read the negative reviews, thought it only fair to pass on my own, to my mind... Read review

This has the illusion of making the zoo seem even bigger than it is (it is already gigantic) and means you can satisfy everyone's wishes to see specific animals because it allows you to be very flexible. You can also get lost! This is actually fun if it does happen, but the signs in the zoo really help. You will also be given a map when you enter the zoo. Keep a hold of this, it's a lifesaver. ----Major Enclosures---- -Koalas - Immediately to the right after entering the zoo is a line of small open enclosures where you can view, or even pat the Australian icon - Koalas (not, they are not bears.)
