...I had gone for several years without a USB stick at all, and I finally came to a point in my life where I required several for distributing a project I was working on. I had a look around for reasonably priced 4Gb USB sticks and I stumbled upon the SanDisk Cruzer Micro U3. I had recalled reading about U3 devices awhile back so I was quite interested to find out what they were. I discovered that U3 devices pretend to have a CD drive inside them so when you plug in the device it will install its drivers (as with any usb stick) and then it has the ability to autorun software. The software that comes with the USB stick allows certain programs to be installed on the stick, this is very useful as you can run programs and keep your settings saved on your usb stick so that they are not lost from computer to computer. ...When you look for a flash drive you probably look for affordability, reliability and durability. The good thing about this drive is that it has all of that. This flash drive has a load of space enough for even the heaviest of flash drive users. This drive has not once messed up for me at all. I've been using it for a long time now and it still runs the same as if I bought it yesterday. The price is extremely reasonable too especially if you knowing what type of drive this actually is. This drive has a pre-installed software called U3 Smart Technology. This software is great as it can make any computer just like the computer you have at home. Advantages: Rugged - lots of software available

Software Being U3 drives, they come with a suite of software, some preinstalled (I believe a password store is one of the default programmes), some free to download (the OpenOffice Suite) and some which you pay for. All the software is available to download via links the USB pen itself. I was also surprised to find, after upgrading to Windows Vista from XP, that the USB pen works no problem with Vista. If you don't want to use this pen as a U3 drive, you can uninstall the software on the USB pen and use it as a normal USB drive. You can also turn off the password protect feature, if this is not needed. Conclusion All in all, I've found the SanDisk Cruzer Micro U3 drives to be excellent devices. I think the 2GB version was less than £10, which is not the cheapest 2GB drive out there, but for durability I'm happy to pay it. I... Read review
