...I had gone for several years without a USB stick at all, and I finally came to a point in my life where I required several for distributing a project I was working on. I had a look around for reasonably priced 4Gb USB sticks and I stumbled upon the SanDisk Cruzer Micro U3. I had recalled reading about U3 devices awhile back so I was quite interested to find out what they were. I discovered that U3 devices pretend to have a CD drive inside them so when you plug in the device it will install its drivers (as with any usb stick) and then it has the ability to autorun software. The software that comes with the USB stick allows certain programs to be installed on the stick, this is very useful as you can run programs and keep your settings saved on your usb stick so that they are not lost from computer to computer. ...I purchased a white version of the Samsung YP-U3 1GB mp3 for my technophobe friend a couple of weels ago and must say it is an extremely cool bit of kit. It arrived in a small plastic box which was extremely well presented and fit through my letter box perfectly. There is no seperate USB cable as the USB attachment is built into the player which slots out easily to connect to the pc. Synchronising music on the player is also a piece of cake and after an hour or so I had the device pre-loaded with all my friend's favourite music. It also has a built in FM tuner which works fairly well in picking up stations. The functions on the player are very easy to use with touch sensitive controls and the blue backlit LCD screen tells you everything you need to know. ...When you look for a flash drive you probably look for affordability, reliability and durability. The good thing about this drive is that it has all of that. This flash drive has a load of space enough for even the heaviest of flash drive users. This drive has not once messed up for me at all. I've been using it for a long time now and it still runs the same as if I bought it yesterday. The price is extremely reasonable too especially if you knowing what type of drive this actually is. This drive has a pre-installed software called U3 Smart Technology. This software is great as it can make any computer just like the computer you have at home. A full tank of petrol can hold 33 litres, which cost about £35 as at today's prices (20 Sept 2008). Smart boasts that this is enough to travel the 415 miles from Edinburgh to London on one tank of fuel. And unlike most car manufacturers claims, it really is true! As the car is so light, it is far more efficient than standard cars. The smart Brabus has higher emissions that standard fortwo cars. The Brabus has 124g/km3 of emissions, whereas standard fortwo's have 112g/km3 of emission, therefore 12 months road tax costs £130 a year for the Brabus. ...100 miles the light came back on, but by the time I could get to Smart to have this checked out if had fixed itself. The car has been thoroughly checked and I’m assured all is fine there. Secondly – I have had a dodgy locking petrol cap. As a member of the Smart owners club at www.smart-drivers.co.uk I discovered that this was a common fault. Essentially a solenoid locks the petrol cap when you lock the car. On occasion this is not opening when it should. It is not too difficult to force the cap though, and although it hurts the fingers a little it means you can get petrol!! The cap and solenoid is due to be replaced under warranty in the next day or so, so fingers crossed on that score! On the Smart you get a 3 year or 25000 mile warranty. Lower mileage than some other warranties but the average Smart driver around town... Read review
