...I've only quite recently begun shopping with Amazon, the main reason being receiving vouchers from survey sites and from on here. It's now one of the first sites I look at when making a purchase.
~~~ Products ~~~
Amazon.co.uk stocks a massive variety of products. So far everything I have searched for has been available to buy on the site, although most of the things have been quite common like DVD's and games. I can't think of anywhere that stocks as much stuff as Amazon, maybe not even Ebay.
~~~ Prices ~~~
The prices on Amazon are very competitive and are usually the cheapest place to but DVD's and games, again being usually cheaper than Ebay, I have no doubt that this is the case for many other products. The main down side is that cash back sites don't offer cash back for Amazon, or am I on the wrong cash back site...

Amazon.co.uk is a website where you purchase literally anything. Amazon.co.uk has been around in the UK since 1998 and it started off a website mainly for selling PC & Video Games, Books, DVD's and similar items, now it still stocks all those items but now have expanded its items to Health & Beauty, Clothes, Shoes, Electrical Equipment, you name it, Amazon probably has it. If I'm looking to purchase something I usually always check out Amazon, as they're prices are always competitive and I know I can rely on them.

...(previously £15). It's really good if you're not in a hurry to get your items but if you want things fast then don't use Super Saver as it took an item I purchased more than 1 week to arrive.
First Class delivery is just the standard Royal mail 1st class delivery service. It costs just £1.99 for the whole order (unless you're items are shipped separately). This is the delivery method I use most often as items tend to arrive within 2 or 3 days after ordering and the service is really cheap, especially if you buy lots of things at the same time like I do.
I don't know anything about Express delivery as I've never used it.
Marketplace
The postage costs on the marketplace are, most of the time, too high. Here is a list of costs when sending items to the UK:

...The entire amazon company is probably one of the best know, most used and most visited websites on the internet. It was one of the first major companies to sell goods over the net and was one of the companies that survived the dot com bubble burst of the late 90's.
Jeff Bezos founded Amazon.com, Inc. in 1994, and went online the following year. At first it was just selling books, but soon started to sell video tapes, CD's, video games and, eventually, DVD's. Now it has websites for the UK (which I'll be reviewing here), Japan, Germany, France and China.
When you get to the front page, you'll notice that is very inviting. Lots of bright colours set on a white background makes the site look very clear. It doesn't feel cluttered though, even though there is a lot to look at, everything is well organized. From here you can choose from...

Amazon.co.uk, part of Amazon.com is probably one of the best known online shops on the net. Amazon.co.uk originally only sold books but now has a wide range of books, videos, DVD’s and CD’s. They have a limited range of palmtops, psions and mp3 players too.
Service ~
When shopping online service is one of the most important things Amazon’s service is fantastic. As soon as you buy a product you receive an e-mail confirming that, when your product has been shipped you will again be sent an e-mail. Amazon.co.uk also have a freephone helpline which is open between 9am and 5pm. This is a great feature which makes Amazon feel like a normal shop. Though when I did phone it the person I spoke to had an American accent. Perhaps calls go to USA, though my query was dealt with efficiently.

I took on board the comments particularly that, although there are MANY reviews of the site, a "prospective buyer" will not want to read HUNDREDS of reviews to get the information they require, so EACH review should be as informative as possible and include all essential information. Many people associate AMAZON with Entertainment Media (Books, CDs, Films. Games) and are surprised to realise that Amazon.co.uk is now MUCH MORE.
As my TITLE clearly states that I am discussing the purchase of BOOKS on AMAZON, I will be discussing THIS in much more detail. However, it is worth noting that AMAZON have been expanding their range, so I will include brief details of what is available.
