...I ordered a coat form index extra (www.indexextra.co.uk) and although i had to wait a while it did eventually come. The problem with the site is that it is hard to navigate and very slow, as you would expect with all the images but this was really slow, i also had to place my order twice and make two phone calls to the company before my order was finally accepted. They give you the option of easy payment, with which you get 10% off your order. Although it took about a week for my coat to arrive, when the site says 2 days, i was mainly pleased with the service and i now have a nice new coat. Only do certain sizes (up to a 14)...

ITS A RIGHT INDEX TO INDEX.

Advantages: Good if they have it.
Disadvantages: They normally dont have it.

...Its My Right Index to Index. Its almost Xmas and myself and my partner are planning what presents to get for friends and family. This is me looking back by the way and I am not confused as to what month we are in. It?s the 6th April so please don?t be worrying about my sanity, well maybe just a bit. So out with the good old Index book and lets have a look at what there is in it. To be fair it is a really good catalogue and has something for everyone. So we look at the toys section and get that toy for the kids and something for my Mum and a few things for ourselves, cant very well leave ourselves out can we. The list is complete and the codes are all filled in and its just a matter of getting into the car and driving to Index. ...I placed an order with index extra on Tuesday morning; by early afternoon they phoned me to confirm the delivery address as in their words it was a large value order. This I appreciated as it shows that they are indeed security conscious. It was also confirmed that all of the items ordered were in stock and would be delivered on Thursday. INDEX IS CLOSING April 2005

Advantages: Easy to shop and return any goods
Disadvantages: Self assembles don't always have right parts. INDEX STORES ARE CLOSING

...I was totally shocked to see on the news that Index/Index Extra were closing all of their high street stores, selling some off to rival Argos. Index has been making huge losses for years it seems and they can 't afford to keep their shops open. This is a total heart breaker for me as I only live a few streets away from an Index Extra inside of a Littlewoods store. This is where I used to get all of my jewellery cheap for prezzies and other things as gifts. Life just won't be the same without Index shops to go and quickly get items from. No more reserving online, or reserved for pick-up and what about the staff. I feel for those who are losing their jobs. No more bustling to the catalogue stands and checking to see if the item you want is in stock. No more little pens to put in my pocket absentmidedly, (they were always handy later on...

LOST WITHOUT INDEX EXTRA

Advantages: quick, friendly home shopping service
Disadvantages: no major disadvantages

...Being a poor student, I would be absolutely lost wuthout my Index extra catelogue. Any Item of clothing, furniture, electrical goods etc are list in the Index extra. They do, however only stock the most expensive ranges or the really cheap ranges there is no in between. Saying that, Index only stocks quality items. If you ring the order line and quote your reference number. The items are sent to you usually quite quick, however if lines are out of stock, you may have to wait several weeks. The payment sytem is ideal, you get three months to pay your balance on the goods interest free, you may pay over a longer period, but interst is added....

Advantages: There is a very wide range of items, so all shopping can be done at once
Disadvantages: Shops can get busy, so cues can be long.

Well it's not, if you've shopped at argos before, your bound to like Index. The Index catalogue ranges from Jewelery to Bikes and from Mobile phones to christmas trees. You name it and Index will most likely have it. Index also run a great Home shopping service which most people now as Index Extra but has recently been changed to Littlewoods Extra. This has everything in the normal catalogue plus more. And for any purchases over £100, the delivery is free, and very cheap if under £100. Advantages: Wide Range, Cheap, Quick Delivery

...I've only quite recently begun shopping with Amazon, the main reason being receiving vouchers from survey sites and from on here. It's now one of the first sites I look at when making a purchase. ~~~ Products ~~~ Amazon.co.uk stocks a massive variety of products. So far everything I have searched for has been available to buy on the site, although most of the things have been quite common like DVD's and games. I can't think of anywhere that stocks as much stuff as Amazon, maybe not even Ebay. ~~~ Prices ~~~ The prices on Amazon are very competitive and are usually the cheapest place to but DVD's and games, again being usually cheaper than Ebay, I have no doubt that this is the case for many other products. The main down side is that cash back sites don't offer cash back for Amazon, or am I on the wrong cash back site...

...!! But in all seriousness, photobox.co.uk doesn't just print your photos, in can provide all sorts of options for them. The website is very user-friendly to navigate, with an obvious index running down the left hand side of the page, and on the homepage, big adverts encouraging you to sign up. Once you do sign up, you advantage is that previous photos you've uploaded, regardless of what you've had done to them, stay stored in your user space, so you can return to them which will help save time uploading them again, or if you happen to lose the digital version. After the first batch of free ones, photos can cost as little as 5p - 10p for sizes 5"x3.75" to 6"x4.5" depending on how large an order you make...there is the slight increase in shipping costs, but at £2.49 for 20 - 49 prints, it's not too bad. You can even order over 50 posters...
