...After recently writing an opinion on freeinuk, I decided to look back at my old opinion of 2001freebies.co.uk. I was shocked to find how rubbish my opinions were - so I have decided to make this one better as 2001freebies.co.uk recently became netfreestuff.co.uk and it really is a top class freebies site. When I first started hunting for freebies, I decided to look up freebies on the Internet and was disappointed to find that most were delivered to the US only. I then found this site that claimed to be for UK freebie hunters only! It was, and today I still am receiving loads of amazing things that are sometimes quite good! ...Blartly is supposedly the 'UK's No.1 Bargain & Giveaway Site' but, until last week I'd never heard of it. I found it through a link on a freebie site and was tempted to have a look. It was launched in June 2000 and is run in the UK by a company called 'Promo Tech'. Reportedly it has between 3500-5000 hits per day with up to 500 new registered users per day. When I entered the site, after a quick browse, I went straight to the 'About Blartly' section to find out what usefulness it provided. There I found that Blartly is a partner site to Dooyoo.co.uk (and probably ipoints.co.uk) but little else. Taking the plunge I decided to sign-up, this was painless. Advantages: New name and Website address for Genie.co.uk
Disadvantages: Just when you get used to a name they change the name.

...The website genie.co.uk has changed it’s name to O2.co.uk This has happened due to BT Cellnet (Old mobile part of British Telecom) changing it’s name to O2 after moving away from BT. ...Odious UK, that's what I like to call it. I'm not a great fan of the multiplex cinema with its nasty, garishly lit carpeted corridors and its across-the-pond hard sell style. I like the cinema in Sidmouth where my parents-in-law go; it's so much more civilized with its circle and its comfy seats with the table between them where the nice ladies with tea and coffee can deposit your tray. It's cheaper than our local Odious too. Still, there are advantages to a multiplex: a wide variety of films are shown at a wide variety of times so you're almost certain to be able to see what you want almost whenever you want. Odious UK round our way is very popular, especially at times when the latest "big" films are showing and especially when that "big" film attracts children. It's bedlam up there. Disadvantages: Let's face it, these are all repeats.

...UK Gold is a treasure, it really is. Where else can you go to find those Dr Who?, Blakes’ 7, Blackadder, Red Dwarf and other gems like those? The answer is simple: no where else. UK Gold is not even restricted to just BBC golden oldies, either. Faulty Towers? You’ll find that here as well. People often complain that there’s nothing on TV and whine that the quality of shows has gone down hill. It amazes me that the very same people don’t bother to check out UK Gold. Sure, you might have seen the series before but I’m willing to bet that there might be some episodes that you missed! Another bonus in UK Gold is that they’ll play omnibus episodes of popular shows. ...What’s that? It is orange and everywhere creep around green, blue, red and violet dots between a heap of letters? Right: The ciao community. And what happened if they don’t talk about Cadbury’s chocolate, Durex Extrasafe or Pringles Crisps but about Jobst Joghurt, fromage allégé, pasta fresca or paella rapida? Then you are stranded on one of the 4 other ciao platforms. That can happen quite easily because at the bottom of each page of every ciao platform you can find links to the other European platforms. That’s how I came to Ciao UK…one inattentive moment and your community had a new member ;o) Thus, we are not alone and also in other European countries the ciao communities enjoy increasing popularity. I was a customer of lycos.cop.uk and decide to leave them forever after this bad experience. I have a domain signup with them and was not allowed to point my domain to other server although they did provide the function. Trevor Day told me the cheap service that I have got from other providers were not capable, not lycos.co.uk faults. I found that actually their function was a dummy, as you can also enter their own servers address and it will still return errors. Trevor Day then explained the following rubbish: Because our domain detected that was the original server of us so the errors were reasonable!
