...What could a game as dated as Ultimate Soccer Manager 98 offer the modern gamer? Being a hardened football management fan I was surprised I had never heard of this title on its release. Always intrigued by the prospect of a competitor to the Championship Manager series and looking for something to spend the tail end of a twenty-pound amazon voucher on I purchased it for less than three quid of Amazon. What Ultimate Soccer Manager 98 (from now on USM 98) does that makes it stand out from its more illustrious brethren is provide a simple to use, uncluttered user interface. However, it is ingenious in that it still maintains the attention to detail and sheer weight of statistics essential to the success of any "serious" football management title. Advantages: everything you ever wanted to know about Superman
Disadvantages: Presenation could of been better

...of the computer "teccie" and most users are able to use the operating system "out of the box". When Vista boots for the first time the first thing you notice is the completely updated look of the interface, while keeping the familiar start menu and bar, the look has been updated and the usability transformed, now hovering over minimised applications give the user a live preview of that the application would look like if brought to the front, and all the windows are now translucent and, I have to say, very pretty looking, and it doesnt seem to slow down your PC at all, as these new graphic niceties use the power of your graphics card rather than your computer processor. ...Marvel Ultimate Alliance is a sort of team-based RPG type game where you put together your own super hero team of 4 super heroes, out of a selection of more than 100 Marvel super heroes, like the X-men Legends games, except the whole Marvel universe, not just the X-Men. Story - The basic story of this game is that Doctor Doom has put together a group of super villains called the Masters Of Evil. They attack Nick Fury's hellicarrier and Doom demands that he surrenders, or he shall destroy the hellicarrier. As expected Fury challenges Doom and calls for all "meta humans" to report, Thor teleports him, Spider-man, Wolverine and Captain America to the hellicarrier and they push back the attacking force. For years, it has been the dominating force in the computer game charts and is arguably the most addictive game available today. Once you start playing it, you'll spend all your time being split between two things - playing it, and waiting for the next version to come out. Everything about Championship Manager oozes class.
