...Hi I used to have a Umax Astra 2000P parallel-port flatbed scanner, but after the third one went wrong, I asked Umax's UK support provider to give me something else, because the darn thing would always go wrong when I most needed to copy a document or scan something. I don't know if this is the experience of other users, but the parallel port model was nothing but trouble from the start. The problem was always scanner connection. VSaccess used to suddenly and without warning say the scanner was undetectable and that was it. The last problem occurred during a scan - my machine hung whilst it was scanning happily, but following reboot the scanner was permanently undetectable. I now have a 2200 instead, which has worked fine (so far), but did need me to go and buy a scsi card.... Read review

...the '+' version. Confused? Not surprising so when I had the opportunity to play with the new Philips DVDR-1000 recordable, I was not expecting an easy time in front of the box. Surprisingly, this machine put all our fears to rest and more. The Philips DVDR-1000 is one of the first stand alone DVD players that can record content off TV, video or another DVD player in the DVD+RW format. The biggest advantage of this format is that it is the most backwards compatible with the existing DVD player market out there at the moment. In the time I had this unit, all recordings onto the DVD+RW disc would playback on all players ranging from the recent Sony DAV-S300 Dream System right down to the first generation Pioneer DV-505. ...My Experience… Well living in a 1930's council house with no other heating system and single glazing the Bionaire BOH1000 has been a life saver, and quite literally could be for the frail or elderly. In the past this product has been quick to heat up and cheap to run. You can leave the heater in a room, so you're not tied down worrying about whether it'll catch fire like you would be with dangerous antiquated electric blankets and fan heaters. Simply switch it on, and leave it, there is an intricate system of safety cut-offs on this product, in my opinion, making it one of the safest things in the house! Design… The BOH1000 is a handy and practical 1 foot wide. It easily fits into any room, apart from the bathroom of course - don't put electricals in the bathroom. ...Did my title get your attention? Did you realise this review was about lipstick and not me giving away kisses? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Rimmel very bravely named this lipstick "1000 Kisses" and I wonder how many people have actually bought this product and then proceeded to kiss people 1000 times to see if it actually stands up to this particular test? Maybe not many people then! I certainly didn't test mine that way. I simply bought it for 2 reasons - I like lipsticks that supposedly stay put on your lips rather than on drink glasses, cigarettes, etc and because I liked the particular shade that I chose - Scarlet (205). The only kiss test I did with this lippie was to kiss the back of my hand a dozen or so times (yes I do love myself!) and I was pleased to see that the lipstick didn't leave any signs of me... ...Firstly, I must apologize to all owners of the Honda CBR 1000 F , because this review is not about this bike. This site ' CIAO' does not list all the different model ranges of bikes you may be looking for. This problem is ongoing, and I personally have'nt sussed out how to change this yet ??!!!. So unfortunately will have to ride yet another review on the back of another product, this is the closest I can get . Firstly a brief history of the VF range, 1980's, as far as I can remember, there were 3 models of this very under estimated bike. VF500, VF 750, & VF 1000. The VF 500 was a superb machine, an all rounder, no problems, The VF 1000, the same, But the VF 750 due to some design flaw , used to destroy its self by way of the camshafts and followers, major engine damage resulted, on a regular basis , and this led to a BAD... ...Hello again Here is my 3rd review, this time on a smoke detector that can be added to the VP1000 system…… As we are all encouraged to add smoke detectors to our homes it makes sense to add one that can link to your panel. This way if it is triggered in a remote part of your house you get the benefit of its own siren going off as well as the siren on the panel and the external MCS-700 siren if you have one ( If you have not seen my review on the MCS-700, take a look its a great add on to your system) to protect your home and family from fire. The Optional wireless smoke detectors can be added at any time, and you can have as many as you like, well within the limits of the system, you can have up to 28 devices attached to the panel. ...I bought the Dell Vostro 1000 for starting a Degree last september. The Vostro 1000 is marketed at businesses and as such is installed with Windows Vista Business. The laptop came with 2GB of RAM which is ample to run vista comfortably. The fact that the laptop is marketed for businesses has made no difference to me. In fact it has probably helped me with my degreee as it doesn't come with all the extra unnecessary rubbish that others do (e.g. solitaire, hearts etc)! The Vostro has been able to handle everything I have thrown at it; every game I have installed, the microsoft ultimate 2007 package, etc. The Dell Vostro 1000 is amazing quality for money and I would thoroughly recommend it, expecially for anyone on a limited budget. The battery once charged does not last for ages but it is not too bad at all; as with most laptops... Read review

...Britain. We really don't appericiate its sights, uniqueness, history, humor, and err safaris, buddhist monasteries and bog snorkeling events! Well not according to Time Out that is. Hot on the heals of its 1000 things to do in London, Time Out has published its new sister publication "1000 things to do in Britain". As its name suggests the book contains 1000 things you may have done, may have never heard of or even if you had wouldn't have wanted to. As far as the latter goes I can point you straight to item 586 - butchery lessons. Think I will give that one a miss. The book really does have something for everyone though. Whatever makes you tick. Sport, food, festivals and walks. You name it. And this covers the length and breadth of the country. Ever thought of visiting an Italian chapel in the Orkneys? Maybe watching... Read review
