Jewish Reggae.. Matisyahu - Live at Stubb's

Advantages: Good music, reggae brought back to a roots sound

...Live at Stubb's is Matisyahu's 2nd album and his 1st live album recorded at Stubbs in Austin, Texas. It was released in February, 2005 by JDubRecords. If you are not familiar with Matisyahu, he's an intriguing chap, a New York Jew (Matisyahu is the Yiddish pronunciation of Matthew), who dresses in the traditional clothing of a Hasidic Jew and doesn't perform on the sabbath. He spent several years taking hallucinogens and touring with the rock band Phish, he produces a unique blend of authentic sounding reggae with undertones of some traditional Jewish music. I bought this album at a cheap price to re-sell and was rather impressed with it, I didn't know what to expect and can't compare it to any of his other albums as I've not listened to them yet but this album had a refreshing roots feeling to it and I'm definitely on the look out...

I used my two week free trial with this company and remained with them for a couple of monthsbefore moving on to try many other companies free trials (and winning a new DVD player on Tesco DVD rental site on their free trial offer). Surprising Picture Quality - Panasonic DVD-S54

Advantages: Incredible picture quality when compared to my old non-upscaling player with a scart lead
Disadvantages: Sometimes disc drive can be really noisy when DVD's initially load.

Unable to afford a Blu-Ray player my sister and I bought the Panasonic DVD-S54 to match our parents brand new Panasonic TX-32LZD80 LCD television as their Christmas 2008 present. Admittedly it was a slightly selfish purchase as we both live at home and wanted to watch DVDs on the big new TV ourselves! We bought the player from the electrical retailer Comet for about £100 just before Christmas so there were no discounts applied. On Christmas day when opened we found a relatively small box tightly packed with the player in polystyrene packaging. ...I first saw Matisyahu on Later...with Jools Holland on Friday 12th May 2006. My first thought upon seeing the lead singer was 'what on earth....?!!!' However, once he started singing I was blown away. I then went out the next day and bought every cd by them that I could find. I paid £8.99 for the 'Live at Stubbs' cd from HMV, and other releases by this artist are of a similar price - or may be even less on Ebay. *Who is Matisyahu?* Matisyahu is a group fronted by an Orthodox Jew who is a member of the Chabad-Lubavitch Hasidic community of Brooklyn, New York. Born Matthew Miller, he converted to Orthodox Judaism in 2001. Matisyahu is the yiddish pronunciation of Matthew. Advantages: Reasonably Priced, Made by Makers of Clinique, Attractive Packaging.
Disadvantages: Lasts about a month, The applicator easily becomes clogged.

I decided to do a make up review as it's been a while! And of course... make up is a girl's best friend! The Per Una range can be found at Marks and Spencers and is closely linked with their clothing range. It's one of many of the recent lines that is designed by Marks and Spencers but in my opinion it's the most reasonably priced one and the most modern too! The range boasts basic make up items just as foundation and powders as well as offering mascaras, blushers, lipsticks, etc. too. Prices start at around £6 and go up to £12 so they're quite in line with the rest of the make up market at present. The Pressed Powder is one thing that I will never leave the house without...

...My recent quest for FREE DVD hire I visited and many DVD web sites that offered a free trial. Now call me tight (no that wasn?t an invite), but I like bargains and freebies and am not ashamed to say so. My quest took me to enough sites to hire DVDs for about four months so far (with plenty to come too). My latest free DVD site also happens to be the best I have tried for several reasons (see rest of op); the site in question is Blockbuster.co.uk. Other sites that I have had free rentals from and then cancelled have all been similar, two weeks free trial with two DVD?s per time ? which in effect gives you about four free DVD?s. With Blockbuster?s things are different slightly ? which add a great deal of benefit to us the customer. JLo - A real latin talent

Advantages: Shos growth in her voice, experimenting with different sounds.

...I recently purchased this album after buying tickets to see her and Marc Anthony in Concert in Miami. I have all of her old albums and felt the need to listen to her spanish material. 1) Que Hiciste - The most upbeat track of the album is a great start to this story of 'How a woman loves/ Como Ama Una Mujer'. It has a sort of pop rock feel to it with a catchy chorus and slow mid-tempo verses. 2) Me Haces Faltas - Her second single and a great choice. Great lyrics and this song shows off the emotional side to her voice. She really tries to go for the high notes and she succeeds. 3) Como Ama Una Mujer - A chilled track which you can listen to in the evening whilst contemplating life. An off-day for M&S

...I\'m a big fan of M&S, really, but so far as the make up range is concerned - or this powder at least - they really need to up their game. The price was around £10 and for that you get a snazzy reflective compact with the per una logo emblazoned on the lid. Quite sturdy but feminine, built to last, no problem there. Then we arrive at the powder. God, its like the hardest powder in the world so much so that when you sweep your puff/brush into the compact you get diddly squat back..... On the up-side, it will probably last you a lifetime. You end up having to grind your tool of choice into the powder in order to get it loaded but of course you just end up with little trenches where you have been prying the product loose! Another thing, utterly weird, is the kind of speckled, shiny lumpy bits that sit on top of the powder. I...
