Union City Blues!

Advantages: It's brave and a good introduction to Erasure
Disadvantages: It's pointless if you already know the band

...The new album by Erasure 'Union Street'(their 14th!) is a bit of an enigma, which makes me wonder if the duo have finally run out of ideas, or didn't want to waste them on us. However for the uninitiated this acoustic (yes pop-pickers you heard me correctly 'ACOUSTIC') album strips down the songs to their bare bones and lets out some of the soul as a sample of what they are capable of. Just as the band had recaptured some of the form of its 90s heyday with Erasure's return to electro pop heaven, ('Nightbird') Vince Clark and Andy Bell have gone all acoustic on us, just as the Pet Shop Boys recently did, before going back to their synths. ...Like the previous reviewer I am forced to use Coffee Union at Princes Parade. I guess that the previous writer was one of the lucky ones. Being a creature of habit I tend to opt for the jacket potato and a latte frappe but this is because the choice of sandwiches is dismal and certainly unappetising. Breaking the experience into 3 categories, lets start with staff. The current 'acting' manager is certainly living up to her title - ACTING - because she certainly cannot organise or manage what goes on around her (but she is pleasant which is a plus). First thing in the morning, if you fancy a piece of toast, you can wait anything upto 15 minutes and that is with only 2 or 3 other customers in the shop. ...Whilst on a short break in London last week my family and I were looking for somewhere to eat in the West end and came across HAMBURGER UNION in Garrick Street, Covent Garden. None of us are great fans of burger "joints" but decided that we would give it a try, as from the outside it looked modern and clean and although busy not bursting at the seams as some place are up there. On entering it reminded us of restaurants in America, as ,you order everything (food and drinks) at the counter, pay and then proceed into the main eating area and place your order number on the table for the server to see. ...of Body Milk which is said to help prolong the fragrance and apparently its formula contains a combination of delicate powders that should leave the skin feeling soft and satiny. 200ml is £32.50. (Far too expensive if you ask me). The bottle is the same style of design but taller – see the picture at the end of this op. ...I echo the very poor service from Norwich Union. Our car was stolen and recovered but had some damage. We rang the claims dept and they said they wanted to use a repairer that was not local to us. We initially said no as we could not get to it in office hours (they were only open 9-5, Mon to Fri), but agreed when we were told that the car would be picked up, repaired and delivered back. A week later the company that recovered the car rang us to see why it had not been collected and we had to chase NU who seemed unable to answer phone calls. A further 3 weeks later after no communication we rang and were told we had to look at the car before it could be repaired. When we said that we couldn't and had said this initially they eventually agreed to more it to a more local repairer. This took a further 4 weeks. In all it took 11 weeks to get...
