Uniross Sprint 90 crawls across the line
Review of Uniross Sprint 90 min Nickel Metal Hydride by
craggybuk
Advantages: Fast Charge Times
Disadvantages: Poor design, poor performance
...Every since I bought my first digital camera, rechargeable batteries have become a must. My first charger, the Uniross RC101159 had coped admirably for 4 years with my trusty Olympus 1.3 megapixel camera. However, when I upgraded to my Samsung 7 megapixel camera. The 1300mAH batteries were no longer able to cut the mustard for more than 5 or 6 shots.
As Uniross had demonstrated with their earlier model, the quality that they posess, I went for the Sprint 90 model as the charge time was far superior to anything I had seen before. The charger also came with the more powerful 2100mAh batteries which I thought would solve all my problems.
According to the instructions, the unit would charge my 2100 batteries up in 90 minutes and my 1300 ones in under an hour. In reality the 2100 batteries are only taking 30-40 minutes to charge...

Uniross 1 Hour AA and AAA battery charger
Review of Uniross Sprint 1h Nickel Metal Hydride by
surreydodger
Advantages: Easy to use with built in intelligent system
Disadvantages: Odd exterior design
...Having had a previous Uniross charger for several years which had provided a stirling service until it was dropped and broken, I wanted to stay with a manufacturer I knew and felt comfortable with. After hunting down several models I narrowed it down to this 1 hour charger (model no. AAB04541-3) which charges both AA and AAA batteries, either two or four at a tiime.
It will also charge either Ni-MH or Ni-Cd batteries.
It comes with a mains plug charger adaptor (100-240v) and a lead for plugging into your car cigar lighter socket. The Uniross 1 Hr Charger also has a built in intelligent charger system to save over loading the batteries which is a useful feature when one may tend to walk off and forget you have left some batteries charging.
The 1 hour charging time is a little subjective depending on what power batteries you...

Uniross Ultra Fast Charger Review - Best Charger
Review of Uniross - Battery charger - 14 hr - 4xAA/AAA, 2x9V - included batteries: 4 x AA type NiMH 1300 mAh by
carrmanor
Advantages: Very fast charge times, turns off automatically.
Disadvantages: None
...First point, this is a review for the Ultra Fast SPRINT charger which I think is slightly different but Ciao do not have page for that one.
The Ultra Fast Sprint charger by Uniross is the best. To start with it takes no longer than 2 hours to recharge batteries and alot of the time it does it in less. The other main advantage of this charger is that it stops charging automatically when they are fully charged so no more waiting around to turn it off and no more worries about damaging the batteries if you left the charger on by accident.
It costs £34.99 in Argos but I bought mine off eBay for £20 inc P&P. The reason this one is so expensive though is that it is supplied with 4 2300MaH AA batteries which in simple terms means that these batteries last longer than other rechargeable batteries with a lower MaH. 2300 is the highest you...

Uniross AA rechargable batteries
Review of Uniross - Battery 4 x AA type NiMH 1500 mAh by
eibee
Advantages: Easy to charge, long-life
Disadvantages: None I can think of
...to make it work again - these seemed to remedy this.
To re-charge the batteries, I use a Uniross Ni-Cd & Ni MH battery charger that I purchased by recommendation at the same time as the batteries. It takes about 4-5 hours for batteries to fully charge, which isn't bad considering they then last for weeks. The batteries can be charged up to 1,000 times.
After the success of the AA batteries, we now use primarily all Uniross batteries to control our battery-fuelled appliances, including Uniross AAA batteries for our television, VCR and DVD remote controls, which last about 6 months.
Statistics:
Type Standard - rechargeable - AA type
Technology Nickel Metal Hydride
Included Qty 4
Voltage Provided 1.2 V
Capacity 1300 mAh
About the company:
Uniross was established in Bristol in 1968 and has since spread to over 7...

the intelligent battery charger.
Review of Uniross Sprint 90 min Nickel Metal Hydride by
inbetweendaysx
Advantages: Cheap, reliable, long lasting, reasonable price.
Disadvantages: Still gets warm. Plastic plug = breakable?
...believe that most of my batteries have charged in about 60 minutes, on a full charge from an empty battery. As well as getting the charger, which plugs straight into the wall it includes 4 x 2500mAh Ni-Mh AA's (which are in sliver, and look quite attractive, you won't get these thrown out as they definately stand out from panasonic and duracell) You can charge AAA batteries however the sale only comes with 4 AA batteries.
It has a sensor control, a red and green light, to tell you when it is still charging and when the charge is fully complete. Another helpful feature is that it includes a car adapter for no extra cost. This charger the Sprint 90 accepts Ni-Mh and Ni-Cd batteries, in both AA and AAA Formats, charging them in sets of 2 or 4 at a time. Also charging 2 batteries will reduce the charging time.
Overall the charger is quite...

The best AA's Ive used...
Review of Uniross RB102746 Nickel Metal Hydride by
findyourfoto
Advantages: Will last and last
Disadvantages: None
...rechargeables in the past that simply did not hold a good charge, I was keen to get a set that would do the job and not let me down. This set of Uniross AA's certainly have done the trick. When fully charge they keep my flash flasing (and we're talking a separate mounted flashgun, not a compact camera) for, what seems like forever. On one shoot, I was covering an indoor event and took in excess of 400 to 500 shots. All with flash and, for the photographers amongst you, all at f8 ISO400.
Well needless to say these for little powerhouses were still ready for more by the end of the night, although the recharge time was takling a little longer.
I have recently purchased an extra set of the 2500mAh version as I thought it would be wise to carry a backup. But still to this day, now a year on from my inital purchase, one set is all I need...

Go on and on and on....oh wait, thats duracell!
Review of Uniross - Battery 4 x AA type NiMH 1500 mAh by
classact39
Advantages: Long lasting, fast charging (with right charger)
Disadvantages: None really, they're only batteries!!!
...For anyone who cycles through portable electronics like me (mp3 player, minidisc player, portable speakers) or has numerous clock, remotes etc, Uniross is the perfect brand to offer good, no frills rechargeable battereis.
You can get these almost anywhere, all the elctrical shops such as Dixons, Comet, Currys etc stock them as well as hardware shops and places like Argos.
For those of you unfamiliar with batteries (and what kind of rock have you been living under if you are not!!!) you have to be careful when purchasing as to which type you get as different products take different types. AA, as reviewed here, are often used in clocks, TV remotes, portable CD players etc, the larger types of home products which require batteries. However, some smaller products tend to take AAA type batteries so be careful before you buy...

Excellent Battery Charger
Review of Uniross X-Press 300 Nickel Metal Hydride by
Surj1
Advantages: Charging time of 5 hours, Includes 4 AA batteries, Compact design
Disadvantages: None
...The Uniross x-press 300 is a good charger which supports a range of different battery sizes. I bought this charger last year because I bought a wireless mouse and keyboard so made more sense getting rechargeable batteries rather than spending money on normal batteries every few weeks. I went with Uniross as they make decent rechargeable batteries and are well known for it.
This x-press 300 charges AAA, AA & 9V size batteries. It lets you charge 2 or 4 AA/AAA and one 9V batteries of the same type at the same time. It's suitable for AA, AAA and 9V (PP3) NiCd and NiH batteries. To use AAA batteries you simply flip down a little holder within the charger and it will hold the AAA batteries to charge.
The plug in design makes it easy to use and the built in mains transformer means there are no leads or adaptors. You simply plug...
