...It'd be interesting to see who comes out as the winner in a most hated poll between controversial ex-football manager Brian Clough and fallen giants Leeds United, considering that critics and opposing fans have expressed their hatred for both down the years. And whereas The Damned United -- a film which depicts Clough's 44-day employment at the club -- will hardly drastically alter people's opinions on either of the subjects, it is still an incredibly involving [British] drama that warrants the attention of anyone interested in football. ...of research it was nearly £300 per person cheaper than the best alternative quote we'd received. Etihad really set themselves apart from the moment we arrived at the airport. Within ten minutes we had checked-in and were ready to make our way airside. We boarded the new Airbus A340-600 to be awed by the 10.4 inch seat-back screen - the largest in the sky. Over 500 hours of movies and TV programmes kept us entertained. There were films for every taste - 74 of them. From classics and new releases to Asian, Arabian and European cinema. Then there were the 29 games. A repetitive strain injury beckoned. In between I worked on my laptop courtesy of the 110 volt plug under my seat. The socket needed an adapter for a UK plug which was provided free of charge by an air hostess. The 32 inch seat pitch competes with Emirates Airways and Singapore Airlines...

Advantages: On time, not bad for a holiday airline

...Britannia Airways are one of the biggest package holiday airlines in Britain and most of their passengers are customers of Thomson Holidays. We go Thomson most years when off on our summer hols so I?ve used Britannia a several times now. I?ll be honest from the start, Britannia are not a patch on British Airways. But it is unfair to compare the two airlines as Britannia operate on a much tighter budget than British Airways. If you compare the amount of money you pay for a seat on British Airways and the amount Thomson pay for your seat on Britannia I am sure there will be a big difference. So Britannia are a package holiday airline have tight budgets and as well as flying you to your destination they are expected to provide entertainment, decent food and overall give you a pleasant flight. What would you prefer ? pay an extra £250...

On Saturday 28th February 2009 my family and I arrived to Casablanca international airport at 6.30am to depart to Australia. We went through the usual protocol, we arrived to where the passengers were boarding, handed our tickets to the ground crew, This is where the problem started; we were given the wrong boarding passes without our knowledge. Disadvantages: Too many things can go wrong and lack of proper training

...Having worked in the customer relations side department for just over a year, I gained a great insight into what the company can do wrong and how they can get it right. Dealing with predominantly post travel issues, I found that the majority of problems for passengers were around luggage, in flight services such as entertainment or catering and customer service. There are many other issues such as rude staff, cancelled flights etc. British Airways does make mistakes, only because there are so many things that could go wrong. Think of a chain, if one link breaks the chain crashes. For a British Airways experience to be faultless all the chains have to work together, from the ground staff, baggage handlers and flight crew. British Airways : Surprisingly Average

Advantages: On demand TV, complimentary bar service
Disadvantages: Drinks trolley brought around once on 7 hour flight, not enough food brought on so little choice

...I booked flights with British Airways when there was a ridiculously good offer on flights from Manchester to New York JFK for £252 return. Our party was made up of four adults and we took advantage of the online check-in in order to choose our seats and speed up the process at the airport. We flew World Traveller class, which is nice way of saying economy. It was a decent size though, we had picked seats in the cabin nearest the back, which I wouldn't do again knowing now that turbulence feels worse towards the back of the aircraft. I'm a nervous flyer at the best of times and I particularly hate turbulence. We had a little welcome pack on our seats when got on the plane which consisted of sleep mask, flight socks, toothpaste and face wipes etc. which I thought was nice, to go with our blanket and pillow. The year before, on my way back from Lanzarote, I was taken quite ill on the plane and spent a whole 4 hour journey on oxygen, later being met off the plane by an ambulance. ...In May 2001 I flew with Excel Airways from London Gatwick to Heraklion, Crete. Sadly I was supposed to be flying to Santorini some sixty miles north of our arrival point so I imagine you can tell this isn't the start of a glowing recommendation. My girlfriend and I arrived at the airport at 4am for the 6am flight. Just after checking in we were told there was going to be a two and half hour departure delay and handed a letter of explanation along with some complimentary airport vouchers. Advantages: Improved Aircraft
Disadvantages: a little cramped but no worse than other economy seats

...certain that our experiences will not be repeated.,.. 'Ayling' Airways would have been a more appropriate name..not the flag carrier but Flagging carrier... Added 20th October 2001 .... I have just returned from the USA having flown there with BA from Manchester via Gatwick to Tampa.. On the Outward Journey, BA managed to Lose our baggage, however they immediately gave us $150 in cash at Tampa Airport for immediate emergency clothing and personal items...it took BA 2 days to return our cases from Gatwick to Orlando, via American Airlines and Dallas/Tampa/Orlando..so our cases travelled further than we did !!...so top marks to BA even though we were annoyed at the time they did resolve the problem quickly and without fuss...( as I would have expected them to do so !!) Our journey back was 2 hours late leaving Tampa, we were not...
