...The Mackworth hotel is a converted and extended farmhouse situated on the edge of the medieval village of Mackworth, Derbyshire. It lies just 2 miles out of Derby City Centre with close links to the M1/M6/A38/A50. We chose this as our wedding venue in the October of 2006, after visiting the Hotel for several meals and evenings out previously. As well as being fully licensed for civil wedding ceremonies, the hotel boasts extensive conferencing facilities, restaurant and bar areas. The restaurant boasts a superb carvery with a varied choice of meat and veg for a reasonable price as well as many alternatives on the menu. The hotel is surrounded by picturesque Derbyshire Countryside visible from the restaurant open plan extension. ...Risley Hall Hotel We won a 2 day spa break away for two last March at Crufts dog show to this hotel, we had never been before so didn't know what to expect it was only 30miles away from where we lived so great for getting there. So last week we booked our break away from the voucher that we were given in our prize package. About Risley Hall Hotel This hotel is part of the Oxford Hotels & Inns chain, Risley Hall is in their Oxford collection which is a group of 25 hotels. Risley Hall is surrounded by 17 acres of land it's an 11th century Saxon country house with 35 bedrooms 16 in the Manor House all unique and another 19 spacious bedrooms in the courtyard which is called the Willoughby Court. ...frankly, yes I would…although I would try to find a better quality hotel at a ‘last minute deal’, to get a similar price. I know this is perfectly possible, as I have stayed in much nicer hotels at a similar price before. I was very content with the place…it seemed to be the ideal place for backpackers as they also have dormitories and shared bathroom facilities, lowering the price even more. ...Review of the International Hotel, Burton Street, Derby - Friday 11th to Sunday 13th August 2006 My partner and I checked into the hotel on Friday 11th August as our friends were holding their wedding reception there on the Saturday. Although I had initial reservations about staying at this hotel due to the many negative reviews I'd read by 'googling' the hotel, as we checked in I thought I'd give it the benefit of the doubt. We were given room 81 of the East Wing several buildings away from the main hotel (which meant that we'd have to walk 5 minutes before getting to the main building to use the bar or for breakfast and also outside a main road bus stop!) but the room was pleasant and with it being away from the main building, it was also quite. Advantages: Located in Horncastle, a popular antiques centre, in Lincolnshire
Disadvantages: Not many 'attractions' in the immediate vicinity

...a glass of good wine rather than having to order a whole bottle. Horncastle is very much into antiques and there are numerous shops on this theme, but it also provides a convenient location for two World War II heritage centres, namely, The Lincolnshire Aviation Centre at East Kirkby where there is a Lancaster bomber and a Memorial to Bomber Command, and at RAF Coningsby, there is the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight with a hanger full of Hurricanes, Spitfires and the only air-worthy Lancaster in the United Kingdom.... Advantages: Quiet location, friendly and welcoming
Disadvantages: Adapted disabled room furthest one from reception

..., and a local macdonalds (3 minute drive towards Derby) in the morning. The A38/M1 roads are also within easy reach of this establishment for those stopping over but not wanting to be situated at services. As you might expect, the room rate is as competative as those around it (Travelodge 15 minutes away for the same rate, local hotels are slightly more expensive) but the location of this Travel Inn is second to none. You will actually feel like you have been "away from it" even if its only for one night. I like to always think objectively about places, and try to think of possible disadvantages, however small. But you will struggle to find many.... Read review

Follow direction to Magic kingdom, very easy once on Disney property. Magic Kingdom is the Park that is the furthest away from the main highway and hotels.
