Advantages: Very hip, excellent facilities for each subject area, people on the whole very sociable and friendly Disadvantages: It's in Elephant & Castle!! Not much of a 'community' feel due to it being in London, terrible Freshers arrangements
...Having just dropped out from LCP (or LCC as it's now known) I'm going to try my best to give an unbiased opinion, and although at first impressions you may not think I'm the best person to write a review having left, bear with me because I do have many good things to say about the college too!
Firstly, I want to stress that the college itself was not the reason for me leaving - I was unfortunately put in the dullest and most unfriendly student house this side of the universe, which greatly affected my decision, and after thinking it through the course I had opted to do (B.A. (Hons) Journalism) was not for me and I simply just didn't feel at home in London in general. This doesn't mean it won't be the place for you however!
The college is very artsy, not at all like a traditional university, so if a campus uni is what you're after...
Advantages: Free form teaching Disadvantages: No university experience
...When I was in high school, the thought of University was really really far off. It had been built into this great thing, an opportunity for me to really develop to my full potential. I would meet a wide range of people, find my own niche perhaps and learn about all the things that my high school couldn't or wouldn't teach us. After a severe process of application through UCAS and exams and acceptances ( and rejections ofcourse ) I finally chose to go to the one school I applied to outside of UCAS : The LondonCollege of Fashion. I thought that it would give me everything that a conventional university wouldn't, so instead of going to Bristol or Durham which I probably should have, I made a somewhat " distinguished" choice, I guess you could say.
The LondonCollege of Fashion is part of the London Institute ( which is comprised of 5...
Advantages: Good student vibe, teaching standard. Disadvantages: Area slightly run down, some outdated computer equipment
...The London Institute is comprised of five distinguished colleges.
They make up.
Camberwell college of Art and Design.
Central St Martins College.
Chelsea College of Art and Design.
LondonCollege of Fashion (LCF)
LondonCollege of Printing (LCP)
The LondonCollege of Printing is split into five main schools of study. You can study a variety of courses ranging from access courses, BA Hons and Masters. You can study book art, graphics, marketing, management studies and retail. The list goes on.
I have been in attendance at The LondonCollege of Printing for almost a year. The college has over 9000 students so there are a few faces.
I am studying Marketing and Advertising at the main site in Elephant & Castle most famously known for it pink shopping centre erected in the 70s. Although the area is slightly run down there...
Advantages: Pleasent stay, good food, central location Disadvantages: Views from room
...eateries/drinking places and chose 372, which offers carvery selection. I was surprise how hot and fresh the food was. Not only that it was tasty too! We opted for lamb with roast potatoes, new potatoes and three vegetables. However, my only complaint about the meal was the vegetables; they were a tad on the raw side for my liking. That said I ALWAYS OVER cook my veggies. Dessert was for me home made apple pie and cream, while the other half opted for home made cheesecake ? both were consumed without any complaints and very much enjoyed. Our meal for two with drinks cost £29)
Hotel: the hotel it situated in the Strand which is in central London and easy to walk to theatres such as the Aldwych, Lyceum, and many more. Come out the front of the hotel and turn right, and you?ll be heading towards Trafalgar square with Nelson, bear left and you...
Advantages: probably best teaching in london and certainly best value med school in london Disadvantages: still expensive compared to outside london, lack of multifacet uni, budget in recent years
...If you're looking to study in london then SGUL is a good choice to make, probably second only to Barts.
What attracted me to SGUL first was the amount of sincerity in its press. It offers an education based in the biggest hospital in london , and therefore the biggest amount of departments you can learn from. Everything you need for a medical education is nearby until you come to the inevitable clinicals years when everyone of course moves in and out of campus. Imagine having to travel in from halls for half an hour each way, or having to trek across london to get to see a doctor at Imperial and you'll soon see the advantage this offers. More time to do what you want as well!
Another big plus is the value that SGUL represents to a london student. Saving something between 30 to 70 pounds per week on out of halls rent over places...
Advantages: Brilliant rooms, service, food, internet etc Disadvantages: expensive!!!
...In the middle of February, I was lucky enough to be whisked away for a long weekend in London with my grandma. I?m a huge fan of west end shows and musicals, and so our trip was booked- we would go and see various different shows. I couldn?t wait to go.
One thing I hadn?t thought of before going however was which hotel we were staying in. I reckoned that we wouldn?t be spending too much time in the hotel itself, as we were going to be very busy, so as long as it had two beds, a bathroom and some sort of wardrobe I?d have been happy. I knew the name of the hotel was The Grosvenor, however I didn?t have a clue what its reviews were like, or in fact how many stars it had.
Getting to the hotel
We had absolutely no problem finding the hotel. We took the train from our hometown, to King?s Cross in London. We only had to wait...

Review of The Grosvenor, London
Advantages: Good value for money, well positioned (close to shops, restaurants etc.) Disadvantages: Limited parking, not as modern as many other hotels
...I stayed in this hotel for two nights when I went to London with my family, and although it wasn't the best hotel I had visited it served its purpose as a comfortable place to stay. Since we were out most of the day and again for dinner in the evenings, we spent little time at the hotel but was nice all the same. I would assume that most people visiting London would want to see the sights rather than spending their entire day in the hotel room, in which case the Holiday Inn is a good place to stay.
We ordered the full English breakfast each morning- there was a good selection of food and you could take as much as you like. However, the dinner menu was mainly Indian food so there wasn't a great variety to choose from; so we decided to find a nearby restaurant (which there are plenty of).
The hotel rooms are spacious and clean...
Advantages: Great rides, lots of fun Disadvantages: Prices
...Yet another stop on my tour of Florida's theme parks with three of my friends was Universal Studios. Universal is linked to Islands of Adventure and we did both parks in one day due to limited time, although I'll review them separately.
LOCATION:
Universal Studios is in Orlando, Florida. As with most Orlando attractions it is fairly well signposted. You just need to get onto the I4, the main road through Orlando, and it is signposted off this. There is a ridiculous amount of parking available. Make sure you remember which character and which number you are parked in otherwise you'll be searching for that rental car for hours! Each section is named after a Universal character such as Spiderman, the Cat in the Hat and ET.
PRICES:
This is a theme park in Orlando so don't be expecting a cheap day out! You can buy lots...

Review of Universal Studios
Advantages: location Disadvantages: quality of teaching, University ranking, staff, culture
...cases. This includes teachers who use their tutorial time on giving their thoughts on lifetime experiences across different disciplines -> mostly complaints in variety of forms.
On one hand you get someone who stuck at Westminster for 10+ years and has some great communications skills with students, but with out of date knowledge. On the other young tutors who cannot put relevant models together and make this great teaching work.
Sometimes it is fully understandable why tutors have this attitude, many students attitude is awful, but this is where Westminster is going, this is their target market.
So if you really want to gain some business qualifications ... check the Guardian ranking and look above Westminster University. If you are international student and planning to stay in London for 6 months go ahead with Westminster...

Review of Westminster University
Advantages: good rep, ..... ? Disadvantages: Expensive, poor facilities, lack of student support, student union,
...I looked at a few Universities, Greenwich, Coventry, Birmingham and City University. Initially I worked out the costs of all the Universities and City/ or Greenwich was the cheapest of them. I'd live at home, commute, and work weekends.
1st problem is that commuting doesn't take the average hour that it used to, especially in the morning, I have commuted befotre at this time but obviously not continuiously throughout the week, boy was I in for a shock. 2 hours each way, if your lucky from Southend to Islington, costs are now £87.50 per week, which rose from £69 per week, which I hadn't realised could happen.
The next is that I visited other Uni's to see what factilities they had and if they were helpful, City came outright the top, next was Greenwich and the others followed. I would have to say I was pleasantly surprised...
