Table Mountain - a unique African experience
Review of Table Mountain (South Africa) by
nikolo21
Advantages: beautiful; scenic; a highligt to any trip to South Africa
Disadvantages: NONE
...Table Mountain is one of the Jewels in South Africa's Western Cape. It takes its name from the simple fact that on most days the mountain top, which is relatively flat, is covered in a thin layer of clouds which creates the table-like effect.
The Mountain looks down upon the city of Cape Town which surrounds it. All this information, however, can easily be found on any other website. I would like to describe, briefly, my Table Mountain experience.
To go up the mountain and look down upon the most southern tip of Africa and not only marvel at the beautiful view but also, quite remarkably, acknowledge that you are staring down upon a point in the distance where the Atlantic and Indian Oceans meet, separating, arguably, the Western World from its Eastern counterpart - this is a truly remarkable experience....

Worth it?
Review of Stratford-upon-Avon (England) by
sailormn
Advantages: It's Shakespeare's birthplace
Disadvantages: Expensive and difficult parking
...There are several places to visit in stratford-upon-avon. The most popular being the birthplace of William Shakespeare. The hut that Shakespeare used to live in as a baby was well quite a historical place. What I like is the garden compound. The day when I went, there was sort of a school band festival which livened up the atmosphere of the town. The town is similar to any English towns but with more foreign faces and old buildings. Accommodation is relatively easy to find. Though variety of restaurants exist in Stratford-upon-avon, the serving times are not so appropriate. We could not find a restaruant that serve dinner after 7pm. In fact, lots of the English restaurants serve only drinks after 7pm....

A Poem with no name
Review of Ciao Poetry Challenge by
MILLS
Advantages: None
Disadvantages: None
...Please read the following poem and let me know what you think. I finished it today and it is a different kind of style to my normal writes, I hope you like, i like it but its your opinion that means the most to me:
"A Poem with no name"
Upon my last breath may I be punished no more,
If your love be that of a sword, so strong and forgiving,
Then let it strike thy heart with a mortal blow.
Alas, worry not my dear,
For no marks or scars will appear across my skin,
Your beauty bestows no pain upon this body that lay before you,
And contempt dare not dwell here.
May your name be whispered upon my dying lips, like that of dreams,
Where beauty resides knowing loves true form,
Admist heaven....

Watch it!
Review of The Perfect Storm (Wide Screen) by
pehchiong
Advantages: amazing waves generated by computer!
Disadvantages: sad ending....
...Directed by Wolfgang Petersen, this movie is based upon a 1991 real life disaster at sea. It starred George Clooney as Bill Type the captain of the swordfish boat Andrea Gail. Together with a group of fishermen, they agreed to take risk for another extra trip to pay off their debts. Upon returning, they encountered a huge storm which is generated using computer graphics. That is the most interesting part of the movie. You will be able to see the wonder of high tech computer used in this movie to generate the storm of the century. Storyline is actually on the average and the storm actually become the most amazing in the movie. Do watch this movie in the cinema and wonder at the extradinary storm!...

Dining Out in Stratford-upon-Avonn
Review of Stratford-upon-Avon (England) by
ashford
Advantages: Lots to see and do. Good restaurants,History. Culture
Disadvantages: Touristy, Gets crowded, Can be pricey
...Everyone knows that Stratford-upon-Avon is a much visitied tourist town on account of the fact that it was the birthplace of the great bard William Shakespeare. It is also replete with fine buildings and is home to the famous Royal Shakespeare Theatre.
The place is also bleessed with a very wide range of eateries including English,French,Italian,Indian,Chinese, Greek and Thai restaurants among others. With such a wide choice you can dine and wine well in Stratford.
For classy Indian food the Baltiwallah in Greenhill Street has a good reptation whilst good Italian food is on the menu at Marco Trattoria in Warwick Road. Should you fancy some fiery but tasty Thai foood then the place to head for is Thai Kingdom restaurant also in the warwick road. Other good eateries in town include Fatty Arbuckles in Chapel Street, No 6 in Union Street...

This one will put you to sleep
Review of Coffee And Cigarettes (Wide Screen) by
javid1uk
Advantages: Short Stories
Disadvantages: Boring
...Yes as you can read from the title this was a very boring movie, so you can imagine what is going to come next.
The movie is based upon short stories, I am sorry I cannot recall exactly how many short stories there were, at a guess I would say about 10.
The Charachters in this movie are Roberto Benigini, Steven Wright and others. The movie is based upon a conversation around cigarettes and Coffee. So you know where the tilte has been arrived from.
This movie is supposed to be a comedy I must admit it has its moments is some parts, but overall not a very good job.
This was a waited film and it had sold out in many part of the states, not the mention the dissapointment of the watchers.
The movie is supposed to convey events based upon real life, and yes at times you can relate to this, example trying to give up smoking etc..
If you...

Good value for Money?
Review of Stratford Upon Avon Backpackers, London by
sailormn
Advantages: Kitchen available
Disadvantages: Cash only
...I've been to the Stratford Upon Avon backpackers hotel in May this year with some friends. Well, the place is obviously run by youngsters who are friendly and easy going.
Pros:
(1) Willing to give a 6-bed room to a group of 4 persons, most probably during non-peak season
(2) In suite bathroom
(3) Use of kitchen for meals (be grateful to it since we couldn't get any meals from the restaurants in Stratford Upon Avon. Most restaurants do not serve meals from 6pm onwards...strange isn't it?)
(4) Internet surfing
Cons:
(1) No spare cash for change
(2) Can't use any cards, cash only
(3) Waited for 1 hour to get my deposit back from a chap who never shows up till I knock the door of a guy who was still in his sleep
(4) Price is not so competitive compare to European backpackers hotel (abt £11 per person for 4 person-sharing room)...

A Waste of Time
Review of Time Computers (Shop) by
jonwhite
Advantages: Reasonable Prices
Disadvantages: Often faulty. Poor Customer Support
...My experience with Time computers is based upon my occupation as a Computer Technician rather than as a purchaser. I have been called out on several ocassions to remedy faults and trouble shoot computers bought from TIME where the customer has had no response from the companies Customer Support or Technical Help Service.
Most of the problems I have come across have been driver related although faulty hardware has also been found in some systems. My personal experience when dealing with TIME's customer support is that they wrongly assume that everyone who phones them is an idiot and they are very patronising towards you.
Based upon my experiences with other peoples TIME Computers I would not come out in favour of buying one myself.
I am sure that others will disagree with me but I can only advise based upon my own findings....

LEEthal Weapon
Review of Once Upon A Time In China - Complete Trilogy (Wide Screen) by
the_king_of_zombie_lurve
Advantages: A true story with Jet Lee at his very best
Disadvantages: Avoid the dubbed version like the plague
...Once Upon A Time In China is simply a film of epic proportions. Set in the late nineteenth century shortly before the occupation of China by foreign forces. The film surrounds the life of Wong Fei Hung (Played superbly by Jet Lee), a legendary figure from China who lived from 1850 to 1910 (Approximately), and is similar the British Robin Hood.
The theme of Once Upon A Time In China is not one of race or colour (This is dealt with in the sequel). But concerns the concepts of honour and duty (The banners declaring "Bravery Soaring" and "Magnamity Overflowing", are an indication of the theme’s at work here). To simply state a singular theme for this film would be an understatement, for it is too multi-layered. Corruption by money, personal responsibility, cultural identity, justice versus law, and heritage versus progression. All...
