Yamaha Upright Pianos

Advantages: Quality and cost.
Disadvantages: Doesn't quite have the status of the similar size Steinway piano.

...I have been able to compare the largest Yamaha Upright with the equivalent pianos from Steinway and the mass produced Boston (marketed by Steinway) These pianos look identical in size and shape. If you are a serious musician, and you keep in practice, you will probably prefer the Steinway. This has a firm touch, giving an experienced player a wider dynamic range and range of expression. The Boston is identical, but about half the price of the Steinway, and has a lighter touch. The largest Yamaha upright is also identical, and has a lighter touch than the Boston. It is between a quarter and a third of the price of the Steinway. Used Steinways and Bostons are rather difficult to locate, and if they have been reconditioned it is important to establish who has done the work, as a used piano is only as good as the technician...

Ultimate uprights - but overpriced

Advantages: About as good as uprights come
Disadvantages: Ridiculous pricing - more than most grands

...As mentioned in other review on Steinways, these pianos are by far the best money can buy. No other brand can come close to the level of quality these pianos?s offer. The upright series is essentially a very good piano. It is basically the same as the Steinway grand?s in many ways, with an excellent touch and feel. The advantage of having an upright is simply the space saved. If space is a problem, this has to be the ultimate upright piano series from which to choose. The sacrifice of moving from grand to upright is the sound. Though this is in my opinion one of the best upright pianos, it still can?t come anywhere near to a grand. The range of sounds and the tone is not quite there. I also feel that these pianos are grossly overpriced. My advise is to clear out that old table, spend an extra couple of thousand and go...

Review of Oreck Upright XL

Keep it upright!

Advantages: Light, easily applied, flawless finish
Disadvantages: Doesn't last well, dispenser poor

...While this foundation is great for day to day wear, it doesn't last terribly well, perfect for light coverage in the office, but couldn't take the pace on a night out. I found myself reapplying it over the course of the evening. Another down side is that it is advisable to keep the bottle upright, mine had to be returned as the dispenser stopped working, was only spraying drops in random directions! It provides a nice even finish and it does blend perfectly with my skin tones, no chance of tell-tale tide marks. It doesnt clog the skin, in fact you'd barely know it was there. Easily removed, and washes out of collars well. All in all well worth a try if you prefer your foundations lighter. Comes in a wide range of shades which are both yellow and pink based, so it is guaranteed to match skin tones of all and sundry. Max...

Clean you carpets the upright way

Advantages: Easy to use, cleans up well, good price if you can find it
Disadvantages: looks a little fragile, can be pricey from certain stores

...I recently wrote a review regarding a rather tragic vacuum cleaner, by those wanna-be boffins at Hoover, which I had the misfortune of actually owning, and, after to many months of pure hell which is hovering the carpets, I decided enough was enough and ?accidentally? broke the small red spawn of the devil, dropping it down the stairs, (with the help of my right foot). Anyway, I had borrowed a friends vacuum cleaner previously and was quite impressed with it, even though I had vowed never to use uprights again, but when I found the same cleaner at such a bargain price I decided to go against my vows and purchase the rather colourful looking Vax U91-P3 power 3. When I got it home the box looked a little small, being 560 by 290 by 440 mm and weighing in at 9.1kg (gross), but as I had already bought a similar styled boxed cleaner before...

My Vax has another Blockage

Advantages: It does clean up when it works

...This review is for the VAX V040 Ultrixx Upright Vacuum Cleaner. Setup --------- Usually I would not put down the setup but this vacuum cleaner is a real pain to get together. You have to try and put all the items together with screws but the instructions are very poor so it results in you having to replace items and put the screws in again and it is basically trial and error at times. The King of Exercise Bikes?

Advantages: Excellent range of functions, comfortable, easy to use
Disadvantages: I think its a touch expensive at £200

...and functionality and I guess can still be considered good value at £200. However, I do feel that people are seduced into the gimmicks that bikes like this posses. There are cheaper options that WILL get you the same results. After all, to my knowledge, were still the ones pedalling the thing to try and get fit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Having said that, I would still recommend the bike as it is great, but I just feel there are maybe a few other options to consider first. PRICE £200 generally (Argos/York) however in the current financial climate I have seen lots of deals flying about online.
