...Purchased this from catalogue as a replacement for my 6 yr old Dyson. Overall the hoover is fairly robust. The extra wide slim brush bar is handy especially for getting under edges of furniture. It does its job. I found the powercord to be shorter than expected and have to change plug sockets fom room to room. Its awkward to clean out the filter especially the top one due to not been able to get your hand in to grab the leftover fluff etc which is remaining after emptying and tends to blog up your filter quickly during use, causing loss of suction. This needs to be checked often especially if you have a moulting dog, causing it to build up rapidly. The onboard tools are handy though slightly small and tacky. The turbine brush which clips into the handle is also robust and very powerful,it can be used by attaching onto the hose to clean...

...this is a great hoover,its designed with pets in mind as it is great at getting all the hair up off floors of all types. Hoover Dustmanager Bagless Upright Cleaner.

Advantages: Extra long stair hose.
Disadvantages: Short flex.

...This hoover looks great but Im a little disappointed with it. The flex is shorter than an old hoover model that broke down after 11yrs of service. The handle seems shorter. Also you can't feel the suction from the front of the cleaner, I know im comparing it with the old model but I can't help it. The tools are in an inconvenient place at the back of the hoover because it make's it difficult to reattach the hose after stair cleaning. ( They get in the way). The bagless cassette you empty is small and for a larger house needs emptying at least twice. I have a black lab and we get alot of dog hair's i found it annoying not only emptying the cassette but also the pull out filter as it got clogged up with dog hair's , I accidently sucked up a grape and found that in the filter and not in the cassette , so watch you don't hoover up...

I'm no sucker!

Advantages: Great attachments, good suction, can hoover the stairs just using the hose.
Disadvantages: Doesn't hold much dust, noisy.

...for some advice and all she said was that the wattage doesn't need to be as high on an upright as a cylinder but still makes a difference and recommended I steer clear of a Dyson as they are not as good in her opinion as they are meant to be. (Just so you know a month ago my Mum bought a Dyson! I know that is exactly what I thought!) I decided on an upright, as it would be better for my back. Yes I suffer like my other halfs Mum, they do say men go for someone like their own mother! I tore a muscle years ago and it still gives me hassle now so the less I aggravate it the better. I decided I wanted above 1800 watts and that it should have a reasonably long hose so I don't have to carry the vacuum itself while I vacuum the stairs. Rather a long list of must haves really. ...This cleaner arrived in a box in three pieces, the instructions were not very clear but the pieces were simple enouch to work out how they should be assembled. On first use the main thing noticed was the noise, this is not a quiet vacuum for when the children are in bed. The turboforce and rotating brushes were brilliant at lifting the pile and picking up the pet hairs, fantastic i thought, but shame abouth the sound. The cable is very long so from one room to the next it is very easy to move without having to relocate the power supply. All was well although with such good pick up the waste container was soon ready for emptying. This can be a messy task as the filter needs taking out and manually tapping until it is clear of debris. ...The following is based on my own experience. I bought a Vax U91-P2 Power2 Bagless Upright Vacuum Cleaner end of August 2009. It is now in the back of my cupboard collecting dust. No pun intended!!! When I first used the product, it was good - couldn't fault it. However, when I tried to use it the second time, it wouldn't pick up dust. Off I went to Curries to complain about the problem. They carried out a basic floor test, ie tried to clean a small floor area in the store to see what the fault was. After the basic test, they could see that the cleaner was not picking up dust. They said the filter was blocked hence no pick up and that the filter needed cleaning. I said, ?to save me driving all the way home, can I purchase a spare filter in store to replace the one inside the cleaner ? that way you can test it again...

...I purchased this vacuum from a local retailer on their recommendation and have been thoroughly pleased with my purchase. After having a well known bagless cleaner previously but not able to afford to replace with the same I considered other options with the thought that a less expensive cleaner would mean compromising in some way. I have found this cleaner to be wonderful. We have two long haired dogs but the cleaner picks up with ease. There is a switch on top of the main body of the machine so easily in reach during cleaning which allows for easy on off control of the brushes for changes in floor surfaces. I originall wondered if the capacity of the dust collection compartment would become a pain as it appeared quite small but again i have been pleasantly surprised to find that with it's simple release i actually don't find it...
