...Purchased this from catalogue as a replacement for my 6 yr old Dyson. Overall the hoover is fairly robust. The extra wide slim brush bar is handy especially for getting under edges of furniture. It does its job. I found the powercord to be shorter than expected and have to change plug sockets fom room to room. Its awkward to clean out the filter especially the top one due to not been able to get your hand in to grab the leftover fluff etc which is remaining after emptying and tends to blog up your filter quickly during use, causing loss of suction. This needs to be checked often especially if you have a moulting dog, causing it to build up rapidly. The onboard tools are handy though slightly small and tacky. The turbine brush which clips into the handle is also robust and very powerful,it can be used by attaching onto the hose to clean...

...This hoover looks great but Im a little disappointed with it. The flex is shorter than an old hoover model that broke down after 11yrs of service. The handle seems shorter. Also you can't feel the suction from the front of the cleaner, I know im comparing it with the old model but I can't help it. The tools are in an inconvenient place at the back of the hoover because it make's it difficult to reattach the hose after stair cleaning. ( They get in the way). The bagless cassette you empty is small and for a larger house needs emptying at least twice. I have a black lab and we get alot of dog hair's i found it annoying not only emptying the cassette but also the pull out filter as it got clogged up with dog hair's , I accidently sucked up a grape and found that in the filter and not in the cassette , so watch you don't hoover up...

I'm no sucker!

Advantages: Great attachments, good suction, can hoover the stairs just using the hose.
Disadvantages: Doesn't hold much dust, noisy.

...for some advice and all she said was that the wattage doesn't need to be as high on an upright as a cylinder but still makes a difference and recommended I steer clear of a Dyson as they are not as good in her opinion as they are meant to be. (Just so you know a month ago my Mum bought a Dyson! I know that is exactly what I thought!) I decided on an upright, as it would be better for my back. ...This cleaner arrived in a box in three pieces, the instructions were not very clear but the pieces were simple enouch to work out how they should be assembled. On first use the main thing noticed was the noise, this is not a quiet vacuum for when the children are in bed. The turboforce and rotating brushes were brilliant at lifting the pile and picking up the pet hairs, fantastic i thought, but shame abouth the sound. The cable is very long so from one room to the next it is very easy to move without having to relocate the power supply. All was well although with such good pick up the waste container was soon ready for emptying. This can be a messy task as the filter needs taking out and manually tapping until it is clear of debris. ...young teen took to it easily, always a good thing!! It has one year guarantee, with an extra 4 years on parts, but you pay labour (has to be repaired by Hoover at Hoover prices). They also offer you 4 years labour insurance at about £180, to be arranged within 30 days. What I like best is the big drum size, quick 15 minute wash, very high spin, and fact that the drum is quite high so loading isn't such a strain on the back. The porthole is very wide and the door opens wide, although not to a full 180. All in all I think it was a sound buy. I paid £359 from a local dealer including delivery and installation and taking away all packing. I could have probably got it cheaper from a big online store but I like to support local firms and knew they would give a trustworthy service as I have bought from them before.
