Vax V006 turboforce upright vacuum cleaner
Review of Vax V-066 TurboForce Power Bagless Upright Vacuum Cleaner by
leversidgem
Advantages: bagless, long flexible pipe attached, very long lead, good at getting up pet hairs
Disadvantages: cleaning filter, noisy, overheats
...This cleaner arrived in a box in three pieces, the instructions were not very clear but the pieces were simple enouch to work out how they should be assembled. On first use the main thing noticed was the noise, this is not a quiet vacuum for when the children are in bed. The turboforce and rotating brushes were brilliant at lifting the pile and picking up the pet hairs, fantastic i thought, but shame abouth the sound.
The cable is very long so from one room to the next it is very easy to move without having to relocate the power supply. All was well although with such good pick up the waste container was soon ready for emptying. This can be a messy task as the filter needs taking out and manually tapping until it is clear of debris. Don't do this in the house or all your hard work is wasted.
Unfortunately after what seemed...

Vacuuming sucks: How to buy a vacuum cleaner
Review of Member Advice on Vacuum Cleaners by
DaisyRose
Advantages: Consideration of all features will make the search easier.
Disadvantages: Vacuuming is still a useless and horrible task, regardless of what you buy.
...KIND OF VACUUM CLEANER DO YOU NEED?
Well, that depends on your house.
UPRIGHT
An upright is best if you have a lot of carpeting or area rugs.
They have beater bars in the cleaning head that dig up dirt from deep in the pile, where it can do real damage to the fiber if left undisturbed. Even microscopic dirt and dust is angular, and if you walk on it, over time it will chew up the fiber. Those beater bars help loosen the dirt from deep in the pile.
Their suction tends to be much stronger, because the motor where its created is right there, at the operational end of the machine, as opposed to at the end of a long hose that diminishes the sucking power. After the dirt has been loosened by the beater bars, the suction of the machine gulps it down.
It's terribly inconvenient to drag an upright up a staircase...

Bissell 3750 bagless upright vacuum cleaner
Review of Bissell 3750E Upright/Cylinder by
leversidgem
Advantages: Excellent suction, ease of use, quick emptying dust container, switch brushes on or off easily
Disadvantages: Heavy when complete unit, short hose
...I purchased this vacuum from a local retailer on their recommendation and have been thoroughly pleased with my purchase. After having a well known bagless cleaner previously but not able to afford to replace with the same I considered other options with the thought that a less expensive cleaner would mean compromising in some way. I have found this cleaner to be wonderful. We have two long haired dogs but the cleaner picks up with ease. There is a switch on top of the main body of the machine so easily in reach during cleaning which allows for easy on off control of the brushes for changes in floor surfaces.
I originall wondered if the capacity of the dust collection compartment would become a pain as it appeared quite small but again i have been pleasantly surprised to find that with it's simple release i actually don't find...

Swan 1800 watt bagless upright vacuum cleaner.
Review of Swan SU3015 Bagless Upright by
tazlison67
Advantages: powerful, robust,
Disadvantages: tacky onboard tools, difficult to clean top filter,scratches wood flooring.
...upholstery, stairs etc, care must be taken when using this, make sure not to catch anything such as hidden objects,fingers, tassles etc as the brushes rotate at a high rate and could cause serious damage. I have found myself at risk from repetitive strain injury due to constantly having to bend down and pick up the tools which have a tendency to fall off, and paintworks have taken a slight bashing due to tools catching them due to the awkward angle they are stored at on the side of the vacuum cleaner. I would seriously not recommend this hoover to anyone with loose rugs and wood flooring as it is powerful and makes hoovering edges of rugs a problem. Much to my dismay, I have also found many scratches in my wood flooring caused by the hoover which will not polish out even though i have risked further back injuries by stooping up n down...

PROBABLY THE MOST POWERFUL UPRIGHT VACUUM CLEANER
Review of Dyson DC07 by
janna
Advantages: effective cleaning of carpets and upholstery etc.
Disadvantages: At 8.6kg slightly on the heavy side if you need to carry it about.
...recently. Sadly, none of these items were forthcoming, so I had to buy my own vacuum cleaner. Sorry, moose, you’ll have to get your own chocs and drink!
Now, if all of you good people are going to rush out to buy your Dyson DC07 upright vacuum cleaner from Safeway at Fakenham in Norfolk, where it was on offer in June for £199.99; TOUGH, I had the last one!
So, why did I buy it?

You may know, as he crops up from time to time, that I own a horse. Now, I must admit to being ashamed about the state of my home in general. What with having a horse and running a business I have little time for housework and cleaning (well, that’s my story and I’m sticking to it).
In fact, I have been known (when visitors give me advance notice of their intention to call) to do a quick tidy up (i.e. stick the entire...

Perfect cleaner for pet lovers!
Review of Sebo X4 Upright Vacuum Cleaners by
amcoop
Advantages: Amazing on pet hair, lightweight, quiet, easy of use
Disadvantages: None so far
...as well when using the cleaning hose and makes our sofa look as good as new every time.
Since seeing how well it cleans a couple of our friends and family have got a Sebo as well and are just as pleased. We have also seen that it came top in the Which magazine awards and was commented as the most reliable. We can well believe that.
It's not the cheapest cleaner at £229 but we feel well worth the investment. It's much cheaper than most Dysons, especially the Dyson Animal. Easy to get hold of from John Lewis or any main vacuum cleaner store.
In summary a great machine, worth every penny that's easy to use, amazing at cleaning and looks smart as well....

Purple and pink vacuum cleaner.
Review of Swan SU3016 Bagless Upright by
cabsookie
Advantages: It works really well.
Disadvantages: Its so efficient It needs emptying quite often.
...Swan SU3016 cyclonic upright cleaner.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I bought this vacuum cleaner from my mothers catalogue, It was In the sale for £49 The listed price for It was £69
I like getting a bargain at the best of times and as there was £20 off this cleaner I couldn't resist.
My old vacuum just stopped working so I had a browse through the catalogue to see what caught my eye.
We have got two dogs and so a bagless cleaner with filters that can be cleaned is the way to go, hairs clogg it all up, I think this Is what happened to my last one.
I have to be honest here, I like the colour too. The one I got Is purple and pink and Is very attractive, I know Its only a vacuum cleaner but colour Is Important to me.
The other colours are red and blue.
When It arrived I unpacked it and the top was sort...
