...I have a bottle of Urban Decay nail varnish in Black. I needed some black nail varnish, and I decided to go for Urban Decay because I'd heard good things about some of their other products. Urban Decay was launched in January 1996, rebelling against a cosmetics World filled with pink. They launched their first campaign under the slogan "does pink make you puke?" It is a popular brand, known for its alternative colours and trends. Urban Decay are one of those brands that spend time thinking about the desig of their products and packaging. The nail varnish comes in a thick glass pot, which contains 10ml of varnish, I'm not sure exactly but it looks as if it contains about the same as other brands' nail varnishes. At £8.50 for a standard size bottle, Urban Decay was definitely one of the pricier nail varnishes on the counters – not to mention the only range that had a shade that matched my dress exactly, so I didn’t really have much of a choice! But I was treating myself and, in effect, not actually paying any money for it, so I bought it. I will not be buying it again. The bottle is pretty cool, I must admit. ...I always used to be the girl that would buy the cheapest make-up I could find. I don't tend to wear much make-up, but I've always loved eye shadows. I kept buying my cheap eye shadows, which would look great when I'd just applied them, but by the end of a night out it would all disappear and you could barely tell I'd put any on in the first place! One day, I was reading an interview with Davey Havok, the singer of AFI (my favourite band), and a question asked about how he got his make-up to last while getting all sweaty on stage. ...Urban Decay Hot Box mini makeup set review by Girlyshop. Hmmm, wasn't too sure about this product for a number of reasons. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Urban Decay products, however a cigarette lighter full of makeup? Urban Decay's target audience is teens to later twenties, so seeing as these are the girls that health authorities world-wide are trying to encourage NOT to smoke, giving them an item related to smoking seems a bit, well, odd. Anyway, I don't like the packaging, full stop. Contents are another matter. A mini concealer, a mini mascara, a mini mirror, XXX Shine Gloss in shade CARNEY and Smog Eyeshadow. ...After discovering more about the horrific practice of cosmetic (and indeed the other kinds) testing on animals, I have sought brands that strictly do not test their cosmetics or ingredients on animals. So far I have chosen my 3 favourite animal-friendly brands which are: The Body Shop, Barry M and Urban Decay. All 3 can be found on the BUAV (British Union for the Abolition of Vivisection) web-site as being approved by the Humane Cosmetics Standard so are totally cruelty-free. However, since this opinion is only about Urban Decay eyeshadows I will tell you more about them. They are gorgeously packaged in silver "tins" and boxed (recycled packaging) but as soon as you see the many colours available, you want them all! ...Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Pencil Eyeliner I first tried Urban Decay last year ( I can't believe it took me so long) and was generally impressed with the quality of the products and the range of colours available. I had been hooked on Boots Botanics eyeliner for years when suddenly, they stopped making it! I jumped from brand to brand, trying about 5 or 6 different eyeliners until I found this gem from Urban Decay. The eyeliner comes in 12 different colours, but I opted for Zero, which is basically black. It cost £9 from Boots, and you can also buy online. ...When I go out I like my eyes to get all the attention, being my best feature they look their best when played up with a really brightly coloured eyeshadow. I usually go for cheaper make up to be honest but have been hankering after some of the Urban Decay Eyeshadow for quite a while after I was admiring a friends eyeshadow and she told me it was Urban Decay and also after I spotted what gorgeous colours they do in their range. ...I bought the Urban Decay eye shadow from Debenhams for £11.50 for 1.5g. It took me ages to decide whether to buy the product or not as it seemed expensive for just one eyeshadow, My friend nattered me to death to buy it as its a lovley electric teal colour and would go perfectly with one of my dresses for new years. Its one of Urban Decays best selling items, and I can see why. Your probley woundering why you should spend so much money on just ONE eye shadow, well this kind of eyeshadow is pigment-rich, Urban Decay load their eyeshadows with so much colour and very few binders (there the things that hold the shadow together) So the eyeshadow looks amazing on the eyes. ...A friend recommended Urban Decay eyeshadow to me, and it is all i will wear now! At first I thought £10 was a bit pricey for an eyeshadow in such a small pot, but actually you will be suprised at how long it will actually last you before you need to buy another one. This great product is only available in Boots and Debenhams as far as I am aware. There is an Urban Decay website but the prices are in dollars and I think shipping to UK is expensive. Also check out Ebay where people are selling their unwanted and unopened shades of eyeshadow and other Urban Decay products. It comes in a trendy container (that is apparently meant to look like a subway token), and in a wide range of funky colours- my favourite, and a colour that goes with most outfits is 'Midnight Cowgirl' which is a glittery beige/gold colour.
