...Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Pencil Eyeliner I first tried Urban Decay last year ( I can't believe it took me so long) and was generally impressed with the quality of the products and the range of colours available. I had been hooked on Boots Botanics eyeliner for years when suddenly, they stopped making it! I jumped from brand to brand, trying about 5 or 6 different eyeliners until I found this gem from Urban Decay. The eyeliner comes in 12 different colours, but I opted for Zero, which is basically black. It cost £9 from Boots, and you can also buy online. ...The Urban Decay Eye Primer Potion truly is one of my make up staple products, it does exactly what it says in the product description and enhances eye makeup to the full! The potion retails at approx £9.50, i bought mine from boots.com therefore receiving 4 points per pound using my advantage card, so i received 40 points. It is available from an abundant amount of online retailers as well as from urban decay boutiques located within stores such as fenwicks and the larger boots stores. The packaging is very quaint with the bottle being shaped as a potion, almost in a genie type genre. The bottle remains small enough to be carried in a handbag, although i find the primer never needs to be applied more than once so you probably wont need to carry it all the time. ...Urban Decay Lust Glide On Pencil review by Girlyshop. Urban Decay have created some fantastic pencils in their time and this gorgeous purple shade is no exception. It's not as vibrant as the colour on the outer casing of the pencil suggests, but it's still a really nice, bold colour. The eyeliner texture is really soft but not waxy. The end of the pencil is quite rounded, so not for very thin lines. It goes on easily and if you blend it almost immediately you can achieve a smokey eyes look. If you leave it for the recommended 30 seconds it won't budge without makeup remover. It's soft enough to apply over the eyelid AND another nice feature of this eyeliner is if you apply and leave for a minute, then run your finger gently over the colour, light sparkles appear. The Urban Decay website can give you and idea of the colours it contains, which are co-ordinated into pairs, such as the Sin-Chopper combo, which are nice champagne-y peach colours with shimmer. Oil Slick - Polyester Bride is a dramatic black/white combination, etc etc. I am an eyeshadow newbie (I used to just layer eyeliner colours along my lash line, but I have started experimenting more). This explains why I didn't initially buy an £11 UD eyeshadow! The co-ordinating pairs also gave me a starting point for colours. Urban Decay was launched in January 1996, rebelling against a cosmetics World filled with pink. They launched their first campaign under the slogan "does pink make you puke?" It is a popular brand, known for its alternative colours and trends. Urban Decay are one of those brands that spend time thinking about the desig of their products and packaging. The nail varnish comes in a thick glass pot, which contains 10ml of varnish, I'm not sure exactly but it looks as if it contains about the same as other brands' nail varnishes. At £8.50 for a standard size bottle, Urban Decay was definitely one of the pricier nail varnishes on the counters – not to mention the only range that had a shade that matched my dress exactly, so I didn’t really have much of a choice! But I was treating myself and, in effect, not actually paying any money for it, so I bought it. I will not be buying it again. The bottle is pretty cool, I must admit. It’s chunky glass and fairly heavy for a nail varnish bottle, and isn’t plastered in lots of Euro-instructions as I find most things are these days. ...I always used to be the girl that would buy the cheapest make-up I could find. I don't tend to wear much make-up, but I've always loved eye shadows. I kept buying my cheap eye shadows, which would look great when I'd just applied them, but by the end of a night out it would all disappear and you could barely tell I'd put any on in the first place! One day, I was reading an interview with Davey Havok, the singer of AFI (my favourite band), and a question asked about how he got his make-up to last while getting all sweaty on stage. I knew he wore Urban Decay make-up, so thought that if it lasted sweaty rock stars, it should last me for a while! ...Urban Decay Hot Box mini makeup set review by Girlyshop. Hmmm, wasn't too sure about this product for a number of reasons. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Urban Decay products, however a cigarette lighter full of makeup? Urban Decay's target audience is teens to later twenties, so seeing as these are the girls that health authorities world-wide are trying to encourage NOT to smoke, giving them an item related to smoking seems a bit, well, odd. Anyway, I don't like the packaging, full stop. Contents are another matter. A mini concealer, a mini mascara, a mini mirror, XXX Shine Gloss in shade CARNEY and Smog Eyeshadow. ...After discovering more about the horrific practice of cosmetic (and indeed the other kinds) testing on animals, I have sought brands that strictly do not test their cosmetics or ingredients on animals. So far I have chosen my 3 favourite animal-friendly brands which are: The Body Shop, Barry M and Urban Decay. All 3 can be found on the BUAV (British Union for the Abolition of Vivisection) web-site as being approved by the Humane Cosmetics Standard so are totally cruelty-free. However, since this opinion is only about Urban Decay eyeshadows I will tell you more about them. They are gorgeously packaged in silver "tins" and boxed (recycled packaging) but as soon as you see the many colours available, you want them all!
