Saxo 1.1 Forte

Advantages: nimble with good performance for its engine size, fun handling
Disadvantages: Steering takes getting used to, basic interior, basic equipment

...of performance, the 1.1 is a little slow. If you know how to get the best out of an engine this isnt a problem and you will soon find yourself moving briskly, keeping things on the boil with a few more frequent gear changes than usual. My advice here, get one with a rev counter or if you are impatent dont be tight and get one with a bigger engine! I would reccommend the 1.4 Furio or 1.6 VTR (8v) if you want anything that has all-round performance. Fuel Even driven hard on motorways or back lanes it will always give around 45mpg. On a long careful drives we achieve 50mpg easilly. handling is its best quality - lots of FUN. Dont forget the VTR/VTS performance models are considered amongst the best handling cars around. It is beautifully balanced. My only critisism of the car here is that the ride can get 'bouncy' at times on rough roads...

Review of Citroen Saxo 1.1

My opinion of the peugeot 106 1.1

Advantages: cheap, reliable, nice looking car.
Disadvantages: abit small inside.

...I think that the Peugeot 106 has been a good little car since they brought them out. The peugeot is the same as the Citroen saxo but a peugeot style, The first one that come out was a (H) 1991 and all the way up to a (04) plate. Inside the pedels are a bit close together and not much room but you would get used of it. The little 1.1 engine is small but not bad for around town, you cont go fast on the roads now because speed cameras and lots of people on the roads. The peugeot is nice and easy to park in parking spots and driving them are easy. The new 106 looks alot better then the old 106 they have inproved it alot more and is a little bit bigger and easy to get in and out. Its good for a young person who has just passed their test or a older person, the insurance and tax are cheap but best of all the petrol lasts...

1.1 LX - great first car

Advantages: endless list of gadgets, responsive steering
Disadvantages: badly distributed storage compartments

...My 206 1.1 LX was born in Nov. 2001 to a 51 plate. I bought it on 31/03/2007 as my first car. At the time, it had nearly 38k on the clock. It's the better looking 3 dr version, and over the last 6 months, I have fallen in love with it again. The test drive was the only time I rode in the back, as back then I had a provisional license, and so my Gran test drove it. I am 1.83m (6ft), and from what I vaguely remember, space in the back is cramped (it definitely looks it though, when I have people in the back). It's full of gadgets - elec. windows, elec. wing mirrors, A/C, heater, stereo controls behind the steering wheel, 3 head rests in the back, PAS, remote central locking... the list goes on.... It has no ABS but if I'm honest, you don't need it. This has never affected me. If anything, the lack of ABS makes it a bit more fun to drive...

The Ford Fiesta is one of the most popular and longest-running models and it's easy to see why: its a small, cheap, economical car that has more space than you'd think from viewing the outside. I bought my version, a 1991 J-reg Ford Fiesta Quartz LX 1.1 3-door model, earlier this month for £494. It has 63000+ miles on the clock and while it shows its age, I think it will last for a little while yet. The driving position is comfortable and ergonomic and although the ceiling is rather low, there is plenty of leg and elbow room. That was good enough for me. I found the website easily and was faced with a baffling array of prices and packages. Each promising different things with a selection of features. I have deliberately not added prices to this review as there are far too many and far too complex to be easily understood. This was because my son is currently looking for a new car to replace his very reliable but ageing current motor, a Citroen AX. The Saxo has always attracted my son with its good looks and decent performance, but interestingly enough he was interested in the smallest engine option of the First. Nippy Saxo 1.1i East Coast

...I don't know too much about cars so it will probably come to no surprise to those is similar positions to me that I took my husband along with me so i didn't get ripped off! After many searches and looking at many varieties of small car I chose a Saxo East Coast,1.1i 3 dr. The first thing to say about my nippy little car is that I love it. I chose a special edition, which really only meant I had a CD player rather than cassette radio, sporty seats with lovely upholstery and a different coloured seat belt on each seat, yellow gear knob, metallic paint and blue colour on the speed dial etc. Basically the differences were visual rather than any thing different to the mechanics of the car. Fiat Seicento Sporting 1.1 Abarth

Advantages: Small, quick, reliable
Disadvantages: Noisy, slow seatbelt retraction and violent windscreen wipers

...I bought my second hand Fiat Seicento in April 2007, at 9 years old, for my first car. My car is a 1.1 Sporting Abarth edition which comes up upgraded alloy wheels, bodykit and abrath interior. It is a nice 'ferrari' red colour, which is a lot less of an eyesore than the yellow version! 1. Interior of the car The car is well made, with extremely comfortable sports seats. The interior of my car is Abarth with the scorpion logos embroidered onto the seats, which are navy blue and black. The dash is nicely arranged, and the additional rev counter seems to be in an odd position at first but you get used to it, and then it seems the norm. The leather steering wheel is nice and a good size, and complements well with the leather gearknob. There are what looks like carbon fibre panels on the dash which gives a nice sporty feel to the car...

Peugeot 106 1.1 independence

Advantages: Cheap to run, cheaky looks, Pokey engine
Disadvantages: Not many a little small in the foot well if i ahd to ifnd 1

...and pioneer front speakers with a mutant amplifier powering infinty 3 way 6x9 speakers on the rear shelf these sound great in the 106 as it is small inside menaing the stereo doesnt have to work hard to be loud. Cabin noise is low at all speeds even with the engine under hard load i dont have to touch the volume control or raise my voice considerably. Engine, Performance and drive: Nippy! Thats one word of many that ocme to mind when describing the little 1.1L motor. The engine revs freeley all the way up to about 5500 rpm and wisks the car along up through the gears with a suprising pace. keeping the revs between 2k and 3.5k in town sees the car out pace and scoot round bigger and more cumbersome cars, other makes such as the corsa cant be seen to keep up with the little 106 around town.
