...Hi today I will be reviewing a Kingston DataTravler 2GB USB Flash Drive. I bought this a few months ago after losing my other flash drive. It cost me 9.97 from PC World but I believe you can get them cheaper in other places. Speed For the data that I transfer to it i.e. pictures and some small visual basic programs it transfers them extremely quick compared to some cheap flash drives I have used in the past. Problems So far I have had no major problems other than in windows vista it is not capable of running ReadyBoost which a free flash drive I had a while ago could. Size The overall size of the flash drive is quiet good the USB connector slides in and out with a rather flimsy press and slide switch. Feel The Kingston feels rather cheap and plastic considering the price I paid for it anyway. Over all this is not a bad...

Bridging the USB-PS/2 gap

Advantages: allows you to use PS/2 devices on a USB port, cheap, easy

...Well isn't this a nifty little device? Doesn't it get annoying when you don't have enough space to plug in more PS/2 devices to your PC? PS/2 is becoming obsolete now and sometimes you will get computers without ports for them, including one of my laptops. Another problem with PS/2 ports are that they are always hard to get to; not only will you never find one on a frontal port section (on the front of a PC case) but at the back they are always buried under wires! Also, people with less knowledge about computers would be unlikely to know what a PS/2 port looks like, but will probably know what a USB port looks like! Anyway, I was getting annoyed at my latest laptop for not having any PS/2 ports, since I was planning to use it for gaming and my favourite keyboard and mouse for gaming are both USB. Freecome DVD RW Recorder USB 2.0

Advantages: ummmmm
Disadvantages: Doesn't work very well, slow, intermitently recognises disks, poor back up service, need I go on?

...I ordered my Freecom DVD Recorder LS USB 2.0 after my CD/DVD drive packed up on my 15 month old HP Desktop. I wanted it mainly to load CD ROM and burn DVD's from movies already converted to DVD format on my hard drive. Being that my PC had no disk drive I relied upon this external drive to load the bundled DVD burning software (Roxio 9). This took several days and many attempts. Then I tried burning my first DVD. After taking 3 hours to do a task that previously took about 30 minutes, this recorder produced a disc that no dvd player in my home recognised (and I have 4). I found the user interface very unfriendly and it simply didn't work. Needles to say, I'll be getting a refund!...

2GB USB Stick GREAT item

Advantages: Cheap and realiable
Disadvantages: You may find more capacity for just a little more money

...This portbale USB drive has got to be one of the most realiable ones i have used so far. I dont think it costs too much and unless you're really into media and music, you may find that filling up 2GB of memory may not be easy with just word files. I'de happily recoomend this product to anyone as it is absolutelly suberb. It hasnt let me down yet. However if you're working with media such as music, videos, webpages, high quality images etc. then i suggest you a get a hold of a larger USB pen. I know from experience that all media workers will appreciate a few extra gigabytes of memory. You must remember however that the USB isnt bullet prrof so dont keep it in your back pocket and go ride on a rollercoaster. You may regret doing that.. Overall its a great item for general data storage and if you want to work with alot...

...It should first be stated that this product is intended for use with a desktop computer and indeed it would only be practical to use it in such a manner. The hub comes with an AC adapter which has a good length cable to reach the mains socket. A USB cable is also included to connect the hub to your computer. The hubs cannot function without the AC power. There is nothing more frustrating than ports or sockets being too close together, meaning that large or bulky adapters or plugs can't fit in next to each other. There is a normal USB connector at each end and in the middle is a plastic bubble with the mini circuit board and electronics visible inside. It is of course silent and long enough for everyday use. I can?t see it being useful for a home network though (as it says on the box), only being 2m. How small are your rooms meant to be? I got mine from Maplin for £19.99 but there are different versions available and I?ve seen this one elsewhere for almost £30.00. I expect there are online shops where you can find this for cheaper. ...I gave my 2GB Kingston flash drive a few months ago and I think it's really great. I can use it for Microsoft Windows Vista ReadyBoost to speed up my PC. It's not too expensive and it has got a life-time warranty. It's really fast and every operating system contents a driver to use it. If you want to buy a somewhat cheap flash drive, and need a good quality buy that. Most of new PCs can boot from USB nowadays. Thanks to the USB 2.0 technology I can boot up my favourite live Linux distribution from it and I can save it back when I finished the work. You can use it for system rescue too but if you don't need these special "features" just use it to store and move data. :)...

...Firstly this USB drive is quite small, it looks good and as soon as you plug it in a big orange light starts up, it doesn’t have a cap (so you won't lose the cap!) and comes with a neck strap. The USB data transfer is quite fast, there is not much lag and the computer immediately picks up that the USB stick is plugged in. However as soon as you plug in the stick then it starts to install the U3 software on the PC, this could annoy some people but the software is very useful. You can download many free portable ap’s and can synchronise the USB with the PC using this, its a useful feature and also includes some security features, preventing nosey people looking through your files.
