Wester Digital External Hard Drive 80GB USB 2.0
Review of Western Digital Essential External Hard Drive USB 2.0 80 GB by
blackhawk204
Advantages: Portable, easy to use, never failed on me yet!
Disadvantages: Perhaps only the disc size, but it has taken me 2 years to fill it!
...Wester Digital, a respected brand name, and i agree!
I have owned the unit now for around 2 years, and have 0 problems. My internal hard drive has died on me twice but my external one, never!
This 80gb HDD is perfect for storing large files, home movies, photo albums, music etc. It's ideal when transfering data from one place to another, simply unplug it, plug it in elsehwre and hey presto!
It supports drag & drop so moving files couldn't be easier.
Standard power adpater with 3-pin plug, and USB 2.0 connection to your pc, mac, server etc.
It is easily recognised by each operating system and i have yet to find one that doesn't support the unit. Plug it in, wait around 30secs and it's up and running.
Can be stored horizontally, and if you have 3 like me, you can stack them perfectly, or store them vertically...

Freecom 400GB external USB Hard drive
Review of Freecom Hard Drive Hard drive 400 GB by
ilaskey
Advantages: Fast, high capacity storage. Well built, looks good. 2 year warranty, No fan.
Disadvantages: No fan.
...and certainly smaller than my other two external hard drives by quite a margin.
The back has sockets for power, USB 2.0 and an on/off switch which is also feels nice when flicked on/off, nothing half baked there. Unlike some units, this one has no fan, both a blessing and a curse. More on that later.
So, connect it to a spare USB 2.0 socket on the PC, plug in the power supply and switch on...

I used it on an XP based PC and one with Vista. In both cases it was recognised correctly as a Freecom external hard drive and appeared as a new drive in Windows Explorer. No drivers needed, just Plug and Play, working as it should.
Due to the lack of fan, it is extremely quiet. I was very pleased to see that inside, it used a Samsung hard drive. Having used various different makes over...

Now this is one Hard Cookie.
Review of LaCie Mobile Hard Drive Design by F.A. Porsche USB 2.0 40 GB by
Sexy_Young_God
Advantages: Very Lightweight
Disadvantages: Performance = Average
...Hello again peeps, i came across this hard drive whilst at my local computer fair on the pier today. I had to buy it, just based on the reason that it was ideal for backing my information up. Better than the floppy disks i brought from the computer accessories supplier i have been with for about a couple of months now. It saves money especially when i have brought loads of floppy disks.
The Lacie pocketdrive has proved popual with many users i spoke to today. The pocketdrives are pretty expensive but in the long run cheaper.
The Lacie Mobile Hard Drive measures 76x129x17Millimeters in size, It only weighs just an amazing 200grams which is VERY LIGHT. You have 2 different interfaces which are FIREWIRE and USB2. It is BUS powered which i think is easier for the no cables look. The only problems with this Mobile Hard Drive is that it has...

Viking USB 2.0 Flash Drive 1GB
Review of Viking USB 2.0 Drive USB flash drive - 1 GB by
bindie
Advantages: Small, High Capacity, Quick Transfer Rate
Disadvantages: None As Yet
...I bought this pen drive when I came across a website that I found on google by accident. They were selling it in their sale for £14.99. So I though that I would give it a try.
It cam in the post, and I opened the bag that it came in, and I was shocked by the size of the pen. It was the smallest pen that I had ever seen. I was worried at first because it is so small that it would be easy to lose it, and I thought that I would very quickly. Although there is a hole at the end where you can put a clip through so you can attach it to something, i.e. around you neck, on a key ring, etc.
It has a lid to keep the USB connection clean and so that it can not be broken. Once it has been taken off, you can plug it straight into the USB port on you computer. It works at its best via the USB 2.0 port. This allows high speeds of data transfer...

SanDisk Cruzer Micro - USB flash drive - 2 GB
Review of SanDisk Cruzer Micro - USB flash drive - 2 GB by
01wojtowicz
Advantages: no cap, large sorage space, U3 software is useful
Disadvantages: U3 auto-installing may annoy some people
...Firstly this USB drive is quite small, it looks good and as soon as you plug it in a big orange light starts up, it doesn’t have a cap (so you won't lose the cap!) and comes with a neck strap.
The USB data transfer is quite fast, there is not much lag and the computer immediately picks up that the | | |
