Trust my Card Reader
Review of Trust EasyConnect 42-in-1 USB2 Card Reader CR-1420p by  fightgear

Advantages: reliable, USB2, vista compat, 42 different formats, lively lighty up bits
Disadvantages: bit boring to look at

...I bought this card reader at that famous hit-tech computer store ;) Tesco. So I didn't expect that much especially at the price but it was going to be better than my ultra cheap no name card reader it replaced. I've been using this card reader now for about 9 months. It cost £9.00 when I bought it so I didn't expect too much. But it surpassed my expectations and has beaten off my attempts to replace it with newer more modern units (usually ones advertising it will read 99 different card types and ones which are much much prettier). The Trust EasyConnect Card Reader is a USB 2 device which does its job without fuss or fault. It accepts cards via the front panel or the back panel and handles (amongst othersCompact Flash, Mini Drive, SMC, XD (for Fuji and Olympus), MS, MMC, and SD cards. Basically, if you have a memory card for your... Read review

Belkin Will Read All Your Cards
Review of Belkin Hi-Speed USB 2.0 15-in-1 Media Reader & Writer Card reader by  Surj1

Advantages: 15 in 1 Card Reader & Writer, Small & Compact, Fast USB 2.0 & Very Easy To Use
Disadvantages: None

...The Belkin Hi-Speed USB 2.0 15-in-1 Media Reader and Writer lets you simply drag and drop images, music and basically any files or folders to your computer from your PDA or handheld, MP3 player, digital camera, or other device which takes any of the 15 types of storage cards. This makes it very simple and easy to transfer media from one place to another, this is the reason I bought this device. You can edit and store your files at transfer speeds of up to 480Mbps which is 40 times faster than USB 1.1 media readers. This Media Reader & Writer lets you transfer files from one media card to another and transfer files from all four media cards simultaneously. It features four dedicated slots for all popular types of media which are: 1- XD Picture Card 2- CompactFlash I 3- CompactFlash II 4- SmartMedia 5- Secure Digital 6- Mini... Read review

USB is for me
Review of Belkin Hi-Speed USB 2.0 4-Port Hub - hub - 4 ports by  sit2020

Advantages: Have plenty of USB ports at any time
Disadvantages: Can be a bit of a pain when it comes to the power supply.

...the transformer. On the top and directly over the USB sockets are LED's that tell me when any of the USB sockets are in use and another LED that tells me if it is connected to the transformer. How easy is it to use? I found it very easy to set up and use, first I plugged the connector lead into a spare USB socket on the back of my PC, then I plugged the other end into the USB hub. The next step was to plug the transformer into the mains and the corresponding pin into the socket on the USB hub. What can it be used for? I have used this for plugging in scanners, printers, mass-storage devices (including a PSP), web cam, a mouse, high-resolution cameras and USB hard drives. The list does not end there, also you can add flash card readers, Blue tooth adapters, pen drives, basically anything that has a USB connection can be plugged... Read review

Belkin Powered Hi-Speed USB 2.0 7-port Hub
Review of Belkin Hi-Speed USB 2.0 7-Port Hub - hub - 7 ports by  patwanet

Advantages: Fast USB 2 Hub, Ports well spaced out
Disadvantages: Only for Desktop PC's really, Must have adequate PSU

...It should first be stated that this product is intended for use with a desktop computer and indeed it would only be practical to use it in such a manner. The hub comes with an AC adapter which has a good length cable to reach the mains socket. A USB cable is also included to connect the hub to your computer. The hubs cannot function without the AC power. There is nothing more frustrating than ports or sockets being too close together, meaning that large or bulky adapters or plugs can't fit in next to each other. This problem is avoided by the Belkin 7-port hub as the ports are well spaced out with four on one side and three on the other. There is an indicator light for each port to indicate whether it is working or not (on or off). There is no switch to turn off the hub - this would have to be done by disconnecting it from... The SZ2XP: A laptop for the modern world.
Review of Sony VAIO SZ2XP/C - Core Duo T2500 2 GHz - 13.3" TFT by  spiritualchick

Advantages: Size, Speed, Specification
Disadvantages: None!

...I decided to buy the SZ2XP as a company machine and potential university laptop. I compose a lot of music, and use lots of sound samplers, which take up about 5GB of space each, and require a fast processor and a lot of RAM. The design of the laptop is very modern. It is nice and slim, and weighs less than 2Kg, making it perfect as an ultraportable laptop for business use. It has a magnetic screen catch, instead of manual ones like laptops of the past, which after a couple of years of use can easily break! I was very impressed by the various "ports" the laptop has on its sides. There are only two USB ports; however, this can be increased using either a hub, or by purchasing the docking station. There are the standard ethernet and modem ports, microphone and audio out jacks, a screen and iLink port. There is also a PCMCIA card port... Read review

Simple, Basic, Easy-to-Use Card Reader
Review of SanDisk ImageMate USB 2.0 Reader/Writer by  kamnet

Advantages: Simple, basic, USB 2.0 High-Speed port is FAST!
Disadvantages: C'mon, what do you expect out of a card reader, a genie?!?

...who gave me $18 worth of those, and I immediately knew what I wanted. I wanted an external USB 2.0 media reader to make my experience sing. The media reader I settled on was a SanDisk SD/MMC USB 2.0 Media Card Reader. It was on special for $19.95 S/H. After applying my free bucks, I ended up paying about $9 for it to be shipped to my home over Christmas. I knew I wouldn't get it before Christmas, but I was very excited nontheless to receive it. It's a basic, no-frills media reader. You hook it up via your USB port. If you run WinME/2K/XP or MacOS 9/X or Linux then this thing will instantly configure for you, it's ready to rock. If you run Win98/98SE (Win95b/c has inadequate and incomplete USB support, Win95a & NT has NO support), then you need to install the included driver, which takes just seconds. After that, you just stick... Read review

Belkin USB hub
Review of Belkin Hi-Speed USB 2.0 7-Port Hub - hub - 7 ports by  curious_george

Advantages: Plenty of ports, stackable, simple display
Disadvantages: Yet another power lead, relativley short cable.

...Im not an expert on USB hubs, so il just try to give a a good review based on my experiences of the product. I hope its helpful. Well, what can i say appart from "its a usb hub"!. It sits under my monitor and does everything i want it to to. The hub is plug and play, so no installation needed. It does need its own power outlet, and the adaptor is fairly large. It has a pleasant appearance, and the display consists of a red LED indicating power, and a green LED for each device connected. There are 5 USB 2.0 sockets on the back and 2 on the top. I've found that the rear sockets are best for permanent connections (keyboards, mice etc) and the top 2 are useful for small devices such as Digital cameras and especially USB flash drives. When a lot of devices are connected the hub does tend to move around (through tension from... Read review

Port Ahoy! Cracking Belkin USB Hub
Review of Belkin Hi-Speed USB 2.0 7-Port Hub - hub - 7 ports by  fightgear

Advantages: great design, vertical ports for regular items such as memory sticks, led display
Disadvantages: maybe a bit expensive but comparrison but it is quality

...I bought this hub as an impulse purchase but based my decision on: (a) you can never have enough usb ports (b) belkin are a respected manufacturer (c) I liked the design It cost me £12 when I bought it but I think that was the stores mistake as I have seen it advertised at between £19 and £24. Even at that price though this is a good piece of kit. Bearing in mind you can get USB 2 hubs for about half the piece of this one made by companies you may have never heard of, the design and features on this device make it a very attractive and useful addition to your desktop. It has seven USB ports; five on the back and two placed nattily and very usefully on the top. The top ones are what make this great in my view. They are ideal for things you want to plug in and take out on a regular and irregular basis. I use them for usb... Read review

USB Card Reader With Free 1GB SD Card
Review of Kingston MobileLite 9-in-1 Reader by  Surj1

Advantages: 9 in 1 card reader, 1GB SD card, Compact design
Disadvantages: None

...The Kingston MobileLite 9-in-1 Card Reader is the only device you need to store, transfer and read data on any USB enabled device. As I use a variety of flash cards for mobile phone, digital camera and camcorder. This card reader is designed with a USB 2.0 connector which is ideal to connect via you PC or laptop. It has memory expansion slots that support nine different types of SD and MMC flash memory cards. It also comes with a 1 GB SD memory card for free, what more would you want. This device is called mobile for a reason, as its small and compact it's ideal to take with you anywhere. You won't find a smaller more compact card reader on the market which carries a respectable name as Kingston. I have another card reader which I use for my PC, I bought this because it was cheap and had free 1GB SD memory card with it. I use... Read review

Read my memory
Review of Lexar USB 2.0 Multi-Card Reader Card reader by  mmpr

Advantages: Easy to use
Disadvantages: None so far

...USB 2.0 connection. The beauty of the device is that it sits on your desk beside your monitor, or wherever you choose to put it. Inserting the memory cards is straightforward as the instruction leaflet tells you which type of memory card fits into each of the three slots ((MultiMedia, SD and Memory Stick all go into the top left hand slot: xD and SmartMedia go into the top right hand slot; and the large bottom slot is for CompactFlash). The picture at the beginning of this review shows the unit with a CompactFlash card in the bottom slot. The design of the unit is quite elegant and very functional. The Blue front edge is a plastic hinged flap that pulls down through 90 degrees to become an almost full width stand. This exposes the slots and raises the unit to a good angle to insert the memory cards. A word of warning here... Read review
