Belkin Powered Hi-Speed USB 2.0 7-port Hub
Review of Belkin Hi-Speed USB 2.0 7-Port Hub - hub - 7 ports by
patwanet
Advantages: Fast USB 2 Hub, Ports well spaced out
Disadvantages: Only for Desktop PC's really, Must have adequate PSU
...It should first be stated that this product is intended for use with a desktop computer and indeed it would only be practical to use it in such a manner.
The hub comes with an AC adapter which has a good length cable to reach the mains socket. A USB cable is also included to connect the hub to your computer. The hubs cannot function without the AC power.
There is nothing more frustrating than ports or sockets being too close together, meaning that large or bulky adapters or plugs can't fit in next to each other. This problem is avoided by the Belkin 7-port hub as the ports are well spaced out with four on one side and three on the other. There is an indicator light for each port to indicate whether it is working or not (on or off). There is no switch to turn off the hub - this would have to be done by disconnecting it from...

Belkin USB hub
Review of Belkin Hi-Speed USB 2.0 7-Port Hub - hub - 7 ports by
curious_george
Advantages: Plenty of ports, stackable, simple display
Disadvantages: Yet another power lead, relativley short cable.
...Im not an expert on USB hubs, so il just try to give a a good review based on my experiences of the product. I hope its helpful.
Well, what can i say appart from "its a usb hub"!. It sits under my monitor and does everything i want it to to.
The hub is plug and play, so no installation needed. It does need its own power outlet, and the adaptor is fairly large. It has a pleasant appearance, and the display consists of a red LED indicating power, and a green LED for each device connected.
There are 5 USB 2.0 sockets on the back and 2 on the top. I've found that the rear sockets are best for permanent connections (keyboards, mice etc) and the top 2 are useful for small devices such as Digital cameras and especially USB flash drives.
When a lot of devices are connected the hub does tend to move around (through tension from...

Port Ahoy! Cracking Belkin USB Hub
Review of Belkin Hi-Speed USB 2.0 7-Port Hub - hub - 7 ports by
fightgear
Advantages: great design, vertical ports for regular items such as memory sticks, led display
Disadvantages: maybe a bit expensive but comparrison but it is quality
...I bought this hub as an impulse purchase but based my decision on:
(a) you can never have enough usb ports
(b) belkin are a respected manufacturer
(c) I liked the design
It cost me £12 when I bought it but I think that was the stores mistake as I have seen it advertised at between £19 and £24. Even at that price though this is a good piece of kit.
Bearing in mind you can get USB 2 hubs for about half the piece of this one made by companies you may have never heard of, the design and features on this device make it a very attractive and useful addition to your desktop.
It has seven USB ports; five on the back and two placed nattily and very usefully on the top. The top ones are what make this great in my view. They are ideal for things you want to plug in and take out on a regular and irregular basis. I use them for usb...

I love my USB Hub - arn't I sad!
Review of Trust 7 Port USB2 Powered Hub HU-5770 UK - hub - 7 ports by
bluetedgirl
Advantages: It works - extra power boost and plug and play!
Disadvantages: Not suitable for seriously high drain usb connectivity
...OK, so I admit it, i'm a geek, happy now? Right, so my laptop recently decided that one of it's USB ports wouldn't work, so it gave up, completely and since most of my gadgets are USB connections I had big trouble. With only 2 USB2 ports I had to keep taking things out and putting them back in again, my external keyboard had a fit every time I plugged it back in again and all sorts of curse words came out of my mouth.
Then along came this little beauty. The problem with many USB hubs is they have no power and so multiple plug ins are being powered from the single laptop USB port and this slows things down. Well the power through this little device sorts that out immediately. It has 7 ports, and as long as you are clever and keep devices not in use turned off it minimises any problems, I currently have four working off mine...

Easy Access USB 2.0 Front Panel
Review of Trust 4 Port USB 2.0 Direct Access Hub - hub - 4 ports by
penguin1052
Advantages: EASY ACCESS TO USB PORTS
Disadvantages: INITIAL SETUP FOR NON-PC PEOPLE
...in the world to install, but far from the hardest too. You will need a little PC knowledge but not much. Basically what you do is open the pc up and fit the plate to the front of the PC (either to a 3.5 or 5.5 inch drive bay, adapter is included for larger drive bay), then you run a lead to the back plate which has a notch for the lead to go through (also included) then you plug the lead into your current USB port on the back of your PC and job done. (NB. Should you plug the lead to a USB 1.0 port on the back of the PC everything can only then run at up to USB 1.0 speed not USB 2.0 speed. For that you will need a current USB 2.0 port on the back of the PC).
EASE OF USE
Once installed this is the great part. I mean USB was sold on its plug and play nature, you don’t have to reboot your machine to plug in a new device. However you always...

USB is for me
Review of Belkin Hi-Speed USB 2.0 4-Port Hub - hub - 4 ports by
sit2020
Advantages: Have plenty of USB ports at any time
Disadvantages: Can be a bit of a pain when it comes to the power supply.
...the ports so much easier.
Which model did I choose?
I chose the Belkin Hi-Speed USB 2.0 4-Port Hub; this was based on the price, availability and looks. The price and availability of the USB hub were my main purchasing considerations.
What did I get?
I got the main USB hub, a connection cable (one end plugs into the hub and the other plugs into a USB port on the computer), a transformer (this supplies power to the hub via a cable that plugs into the hub, more about this la |
