Viking USB 2.0 Flash Drive 1GB
Review of Viking USB 2.0 Drive USB flash drive - 1 GB by
bindie
Advantages: Small, High Capacity, Quick Transfer Rate
Disadvantages: None As Yet
...I bought this pen drive when I came across a website that I found on google by accident. They were selling it in their sale for £14.99. So I though that I would give it a try.
It cam in the post, and I opened the bag that it came in, and I was shocked by the size of the pen. It was the smallest pen that I had ever seen. I was worried at first because it is so small that it would be easy to lose it, and I thought that I would very quickly. Although there is a hole at the end where you can put a clip through so you can attach it to something, i.e. around you neck, on a key ring, etc.
It has a lid to keep the USB connection clean and so that it can not be broken. Once it has been taken off, you can plug it straight into the USB port on you computer. It works at its best via the USB 2.0 port. This allows high speeds of data transfer...

Looks good with its flashing LED
Review of Integral USB 2.0 Splash Drive - USB flash drive - 512 MB by
sit2020
Advantages: Reliable
Disadvantages: Might lose its head
...with the memory stick?
Already loaded onto the memory stick is an executable filed called "Secret Zip" and a 16 page document explaining exactly what it is and how to use it. Although I have not used it personally, for those who wish to do so it is according to the manufacturers a user-friendly, multi-featured compression and encryption tool using Integral's hardware solutions. It is capable of running directly from the memory stick, Secret Zip expands the available storage room in the memory stick by providing zipping and unzipping functions.
It is worth noting that it can only be used on; Microsoft Windows 98/Me/2000/XP.
The technical bit.
Drivers for the USB 2.0 Flash Drive
Windows ME/2000 SP3+/XP
Simply plug it into the USB port and away you go.
Windows 98SE
This is the hardest one, DO NOT plug the device into your PC. You must...

To USB, or not to USB?
Review of Dane-Elec zMate Pen USB2.0 Nacre - USB flash drive - 256 MB by
DaC_87
Advantages: Cheap, easy to use, transportable.
Disadvantages: A little on the chunky side, space an issue
...quoted is nothing short of a bit of a lie. My four bought drives each give roughly 247mb of space. While this is pretty close to the expected figure, certainly not really worth taking it back to the US over, it is still a little irritating. However, I have since come to realise that this is standard policy for all USB flash drives. In terms of what size to get, i have found 256mb ample for my needs.
It's quite speedy to transfer data, not to mention the plug-and-play capabilities which mean you don't need to install anything to get the drive to work. It support USB 2.0 as well as 1.0, and transferring a full capacity of songs took me about 40 seconds, which works out at around 6mb/s. This is perfectly quick for me, but if speed is essential there are likely to be quicker models out there. On the DaneElec website, the flash drives are quoted...

Wester Digital External Hard Drive 80GB USB 2.0
Review of Western Digital Essential External Hard Drive USB 2.0 80 GB by
blackhawk204
Advantages: Portable, easy to use, never failed on me yet!
Disadvantages: Perhaps only the disc size, but it has taken me 2 years to fill it!
...Wester Digital, a respected brand name, and i agree!
I have owned the unit now for around 2 years, and have 0 problems. My internal hard drive has died on me twice but my external one, never!
This 80gb HDD is perfect for storing large files, home movies, photo albums, music etc. It's ideal when transfering data from one place to another, simply unplug it, plug it in elsehwre and hey presto!
It supports drag & drop so moving files couldn't be easier.
Standard power adpater with 3-pin plug, and USB 2.0 connection to your pc, mac, server etc.
It is easily recognised by each operating system and i have yet to find one that doesn't support the unit. Plug it in, wait around 30secs and it's up and running.
Can be stored horizontally, and if you have 3 like me, you can stack them perfectly, or store them vertically...
