Belkin Bluetooth USB Adapter
Review of Belkin Bluetooth USB Adapter by
mikenewborn
Advantages: Small and Discrete. Easy to install and use. 10m range.
Disadvantages: Not as fast as a serial cable or infra-red.
...This is a great piece of kit. I bought it so I could transfer files between my phone and computer, but it can be used with any bluetooth device such as a PDA or laptop.
The manual simply explains how to install the dongle and I installed it without any trouble in minutes. The dongle is USB 1.1 compatable and is truely plug and play. You can disable the bluetooth connection in the dongle settings so you don't have to keep disconnecting the adapter from your PC if your worried about someone trying to connect to your computer.
Start using the product, just give your PC a name in the Bluetooth software and any bluetooth device will be able to detect it straight away. The easiest way to transfer files in my opinion is to right-click on a file and select "Send To > Bluetooth Device" You can even highlight multiple files and send them...

I'll Bluetooth to you, if you Bluetooth to me!
Review of Belkin Bluetooth USB Adapter by
PrincessDi
Advantages: Easy to exchange work to & from Laptop/PC/Mobile Phones
Disadvantages: Small, could get lost.
...Package Includes:
Bluetooth USB Adapter
CD-Rom
User Guide
Quick Installation Guide
System Requirements:
One available USB Port
Windows ® 98 SE, Me, 2000, or XP
Mac OS ® X v10.2 and higher
I bought this because most mobile phones have Bluetooth now, and having a few different mobiles in my house it's easier than installing all the different mobile software to transfer photos to the computer.
I can't actually remember where I bought this, but I think it might have been Argos. I don't remember how much it was then either (a lot of help aren't I!), but currently they are selling at £17.96 on Amazon. Version 2 is now selling in Argos at £15.99. Ebay is a good place to look as prices vary from day to day. You might even find one for 99p!
The installation of this was incredibly easy. The quick start guide is useful, though...

BELKIN USB Adapter (10M)- Connect PC to Phone
Review of Belkin Bluetooth USB Adapter by
ky_9988
Advantages: Small, Sleek, Connects to Phones, Good Coverage, Slim, fast, easy install
Disadvantages: Cap can get lost as it is quite small
...I have had this little product for about 4 Months now and I can say it is a wonderful little thing.
The model I have is the:
Belkin Bluetooth USB Adapter * Class 2; v1.2 10m
This model is currently available for £8.99 on amazon (£3 cheaper than what I paid for it) and I can say it is the best thing I have bought.
The reason why I bought this adapter was to connect my phone to my laptop and PC.
<<*What it Does*>>
This small and sleek adapter enables you to connect 2 or more bluetooth devices to each other wirelessly. This includes devices such as Mobile Phones and PDA's.
I have connected both my Samsung D500 and Sony Ericsson W800i to my Laptop all at the same time. The coverage distance for this particular device is 10 metres therefore it makes it easy to pick up the bluetooth signals easily, although a much...

HP BT 300 - A great addition to your HP printer
Review of HP Bt300 Bluetooth Wireless Printer Adapter by
RufusUK
Advantages: Small, easy to use, cheap, convenient
Disadvantages: None really
...I recently bought a new HP printer. It's an all in one that does photos while also having a built in scanner, copier, network print server, email system and web server.
On the front of this printer was a USB port and a card reader. The USB port is excellent for getting files from USB devices, but really comes in to it's own when used with the BT 300 from HP.
This is basically a small USB stick that sticks in the USB port on your printer and enables it as a bluetooth print server. This means that any bluetooth enabled device can print to the printer without wires.
The second I plugged in the device my printer recognised it and displayed the bluetooth logo on the little LCD screen. A quick scan on my phone revealed my printer sitting waiting. I selected a photo on my phone, pressed Send Via Bluetooth and it was away. I got...

Send and recieve files the Bluetooth way!
Review of Belkin Bluetooth USB Adapter by
m_lucas11
Advantages: small enough to be left in the computer ready for use.
Disadvantages: May give slow connection depending on pairing product.
...The Belkin bluetooth USB adapter is a must have if you have a bluetooth enabled phone that you regularly link up to a computer in order to transfer files. Instead of the use of unsightly cables to link up your bluetooth enabled products to the computer, this enables you to link them up through a wireless bluetooth connection. The Belkin bluetooth USB adapter is small enough to be placed in a rear USB port of a computer and left there so that it is ready to use whenever you require it. The transfer sending speed is quite fast however depending on the recieving speed of the bluetooth enabled products that you use this with, the speed may be a little slower. This is not the fault of the Belkin bluetooth USB adapter but rather the product recieving the signal as it is harder to recieve bluetooth signals then send them. The recieving speed...

Long in the (Blue)tooth
Review of Belkin Bluetooth USB Adapter by
LegendaryMrDude
Advantages: 100m Range, Compact Design, Great Software
Disadvantages: Price
...and software combination supports all of the standard Bluetooth services, Audio Gateway, Serial Port, Dial-up networking, Fax, File Transfer, Headset, Networking, PIM item transfer and PIM synchronisation. Each of these can be activated and configured separately from the others, leaving you with a bluetooth setup that meets your needs exactly and miminimse the chances of any security misconfigurations.
Unfortunately the BlueTooth software seems a bit fussy when it comes to remembering the device that it's supposed to be controlling. After buying a USB hub to cope with the multitude of devices that seem to have accumulated in my study, the Bluetooth explorer software refused to recognize the adapter and needed re-installing.
So did Bluetooth change my life? In short, no. I didn't end up with the Bluetooth headset, I don't have a Bluetooth...

Useful Blutooth Adapter
Review of Belkin Bluetooth USB Adapter by
Surj1
Advantages: For Blutooth Enabled Devices, 100m Range, Plug & Play
Disadvantages: None
...The Belkin Bluetooth USB Adapter is very useful technology which you simply plug into your USB slot. I actually got this about 2 years ago because I wanted to transfer photos and videos from my mobile phone to my PC and I didn't have a mobile phone cable to connect to the PC. So this was ideal rather than purchasing a cable which would have cost the same, but with this I can use it for other Bluetooth enabled devices such as my PDA or Laptop.
Main features:
- Bluetooth connection capability via USB
- Works with any device which is Bluetooth enabled
- Has built in security using 128-bit encryption and authentication, allowing you to securely access any Bluetooth device without wires
- Easy installation with Plug-and-Play convenience
- Allows you to connect at a range of up to 100 meters
The Bluetooth adapter is well...

But my teeth are white
Review of Belkin Bluetooth USB Adapter by
sit2020
Advantages: Easy to use
Disadvantages: not easy to set up
.../laptops, send to a printer all without the need for extra leads. I have as yet only scratched the surface. I am amazed that something so small can be so useful.
Just to keep those of you happy who like tech details I will give you a couple (please don't ask me what they mean though) My adapter uses V1.2 and is backwards compatible with V1.1, max indoor range of 10m (100m range is available for a little extra cost, but I did not need that)
Operating system requirements W98SE, ME, 2000,XP.
Min processor 200MHz
Min RAM 64 MB
And it needs a USB port to plug it into, (I am using mine through a hub without problems)....

Belkin Bluetooth = Beautiful
Review of Belkin Bluetooth USB Adapter by
painey
Advantages: Tiny, LED, Protective Cap
Disadvantages: Annoying features installed
...After I purchased my new phone (Nokia 6230i) I needed to be able to transfer info between my phone and my PC, so I headed out to my local comet and picked this up for £10.99. This tiny Adapter (better known as a Dongle) has a USB socket under a protective cap which plugs into any PC or Laptop. It is USB 2.0, but also supports USB 1.1 on older PC's and has a range of 10meters.
Bluetooth is a way of communicating wirelessly, like infra-red or radio waves and is very easy to use, the only problem is it is slightly slower than using data cables or infra-red.
In the package you get the dongle and a CD with drivers (un-needed on XP as it will be automatically installed when plugged in) When the Dongle is plugged in and Bluetooth is on, a small Blue LED lights up on the dongle, which is very helpful. You can turn bluetooth on or off using...
