At last,a low price KVM switch with a USB platform
Review of Belkin OmniView SOHO Series 4-Port USB KVM Switch with Audio - KVM / audio switch - 4 ports by
coppinpr
Advantages: easdy to use,USB connections,up to 4 pc's
Disadvantages: not pretty,
...two).Switching between pc's is just a keystoke and its quite strange at first to instantly move between one display/audio/input and another.
This belkin switch is a big improvement on previous models but beware when buying, several Belkin KVM's have almost the same model numbers and names, make sure you get the USB model, as usual with Belkin old models hang around for ages especially when buying on line and you can easy end up with an old ps2 model some dealer is trying to off load to make way for the new style. This is not helped by the price structure,an old style switch can often come up at a hight price than the new one so take care.
Bottom line is,as usual with Belkin the product will do what is says it will and in this case better than before,if you use more than one pc on a regular basis then this is a must have...

H & B CA-5555 Car MP3 Player - One of the best
Review of H & B CA-5555Car by
FVELLA
Advantages: Plays MP3s via USB port and SD memory card
Disadvantages: None
...and had to delve into the manual to find out how to turn it off. The manual mentions a remote control unit but none is provided as standard and it is not listed as an optional extra but would you need a remote ?
The front panel can be removed for security reasons. You have to pull the panel off once you move it left or right. This is a bit weird and needs getting used to. My overall assessment of this unit is that it is great value for money. I bought mine from
SAVASTORE for which there is a link CIAO. It cost me £82 including postage.
Definite 5 star:
Here are the product features as listed by the supplier:
PRODUCT FEATURES:
MP3/FM Car Audio; Audio CD / Audio CD-R/RW; MP3 CD-R/RW; MP3 USB interface (1.1 & 2.0
compatible);
MP3 SD/MMC Card reader; Power Output 4x45W; RDS (Radio Data System); TA/TP (Traffic
Program); EON...

Easy as 1, 2, MP3 through your car stereo
Review of Lyromedia Car Cassette Adaptor by
kathryn.rosling
Advantages: Your full catalogue of music in the car
Disadvantages: none
...Well this review is for all of you out there who....................
1, have an MP3 player
2, a car with a tape cassette and but no CD player
3, are a music lover
For the rest of you, tell your friends, who fit the above description all about this product. They will most definitely buy you a pint for this one.
We had a car with a cd player and used cd's regularly. We used to say on many many many occasions why o why do stereo manufacturers not put jack plugs\or USB on the front so we could listen to all our music.
After all if they had jack plugs then you could just plug in your MP3 player in. Access to 5000 songs, your favourite playlists .
Anyway we unfortunately wrote off our Honda accord car just before Christmas and had to buy a new one. We bought another second hand Honda, which I will review after we have lived...

Excellent USB Headphones with microphone
Review of Sennheiser PC 155 USB Headset by
el-em
Advantages: Comfortable, good quality sound, excellent microphone
Disadvantages: Bit bulky for my laptop bag
...cardboard box any day - easier to get into and environmentally friendly!
Documentation was sparse, but then who needs volumes of manual for a pair of headphones. OK, so they are USB and PC attached, which may start to worry those who are not technically inclined and who need some support of a good manual.
Fortunately, Sennheiser have mastered Plug and Play. These are truly the best plug-and-play device I have ever installed.
The headphones have a small USB widget inline between standard mini jacks for audio and microphone and a USB plug. This small box is a USB soundcard.
I popped the USB plug into an available USB socket, and Windows XP popped up, whirred for a bit and told me my new Audio device was ready for use. That was it ... no CD, no downloads, no "This driver has not passed testing". Windows was even smart enough to set...

Trust Trust for Audio
Review of Trust Soundforce 2012 USB by
Credance100
Advantages: USB Connection, Fantastic looks and style, decent quality sound.
Disadvantages: Slightly flimsy.
...be clear on this one - If you have a modern soundcard, it'll operate and work perfectly through USB ports, not just your bog standard sound port.
I came across the Trust Soundforce 2012 USB when browsing the guys display. They looked rather snazzy in their stylishly modeled box, infact it was their streamlined, rather snazzy apperance which pretty much clinched the purchase actually. The price was 14.99, which is fair for a pair of USB speakers, thus I bought them without hesistation.
So How Were They?
Upon swiftly plugging the 2012's in the USB port, they worked immediately after the PC detected them as a "USB Audio Device" (we were running XP). Thats all it really takes to install a 2 speaker system. The speakers worked in conjunction with the Soundblaster 24 bit card perfectly, and require no updating/software changes to function...

Belkin 2-Port KVM Switch With Audio Support
Review of Belkin 2-Port KVM Switch with Audio Support and Built-In Cabling - KVM / audio switch - 2 ports by
ilaskey
Advantages: Cheap, all in one solution, audio support
Disadvantages: No manual overide
...of leads in to each PC. The F1DL102P has PS/2 leads for the keyboard and mouse but a USB version is also available. The audio support is limited to a single stereo jack and microphone input but given the market this is aimed at, I can't really see the lack of multi-channel audio support to be a problem.
The monitor, keyboard and mouse are then connected to the KVM to complete the set up. One bugbear is that like the vast majority of KVMs, this Belkin unit has cables going in one end and out the other making it difficult to place on a desktop without having cables hanging out everywhere. However, there is no reason why you can't just tuck it out the way out of sight as it has no parts you'd normally need to access. The leads were of a generous length allowing some room to manoeuvre on PC placement.
Features
As noted, the Belkin supports...

MP3 player for audio on the move
Review of AudioMove Packard Bell 512Mb MP3 Player by
francophile01
Advantages: Small, Light, Good sound quality
Disadvantages: Poor display, fiddly controls, abd does not hold as much as it says
...Packard Bell Audio Move is a 512 Megabyte MP3 player. It runs for up to 12 hours on a single AAA battery. It comes with earphones (not all MP3 player do). It fits in the palm of the hand measuring 3 ½ inches x 1 inch x ¾ of an inch, and comes with a quick start guide, the guarantee booklet and a CD ROM with the instruction manual and software for older versions of Windows.
I listen to lots of audio programs from Nightingale Connant Corporation, courses on Marketing, business and self help etc., and I like to take them out with me so that I'm not tied to the arm chair. But I don't like lugging a CD player and CDs everywhere with me, and it jumps around if you play it while walking. So I figured this justified investing in an MP3 player. At £45 I thought it a reasonable investment.
I don't want to lay out the "astronomical!" cost...

OH THE JOY OF USB - USB/GAMEPORT
Review of Sitecom USB to Gameport Game input adapter by
penguin1052
Advantages: USE CURRENT CONTROLLER
Disadvantages: ANOTHER LEAD
...COMPATIBILITY
This unit is great if you have a game device and want to plug it into your PC. Best use is with a laptop as you tend to not get a game port (usually built on to a sound card on a desktop PC) on them. You do however get a USB port on most now and therefore this allows you to run any game controller that uses the standard 15-pin layout straight into the USB port.
However if you are looking to run MIDI audio through to your PC this unit will not do that. On a game port on a soundcard you can also run MIDI through it, this however does not allow you to do that. For that you would need to look at something such as the Creative Soundblaster Extigy.
Also you will need Windows 98SE or later as versions before this did not support USB, although patches are available of the internet.
SPEED
Well USB 1.0 will run at up...

Sturdy, versatile audio/midi interface/surface
Review of Native Instruments Audio Kontrol 1 by
Sean_23
Advantages: well made and easy to use
Disadvantages: positioning of front and back ports can get cluttered
...Amongst audio interfaces this is unique for having both audio/midi ports as well as the light-up top knob and buttons. These can be asisgned to functions in a wide range of audio DAWs from Apple's Garageband to Logic and Cubase. The unit is simple to install and use although I did have to download the latest drivers for it to be recognised on a USB port. With two audio inputs, guitar and a microphone or other instruments can be quickly setup. The back plate includes MIDI in and out ports to complete the connectivity. Once connected it immediately offers high-end audio clarity and 3ms latency which ensures you hear straightaway the music you're playing. Although this unit is now a few years old, its sturdy construction and versatility make it a better option than the newer Guitar Rig Sessions 3 XE device....

Aten Masterview CS1774 KVM Switch
Review of ATEN Master View Dual-View CS-1744 - KVM / audio / USB switch - 4 ports by
ilaskey
Advantages: Build quality, flexibility
Disadvantages: Too few USB ports, a bit pricy
...may be used.
###################
## In Use
###################
The CS1774 can be controlled either via the four front mounted switches which also indicate the currently selected PC or via hotkeys. What I liked the most was the flexibility of the device. A frustration when switching from one PC to another is the fact that usually, this is a complete switch so if you're listening to music on one machine then change PCs, you lose the audio feed. The Aten unit however offers a better way of handling things. Whilst you can do a full switch, you can also switch just the things you want via various hotkey combinations. For instance, you could begin printing via USB from one machine, switch only the KVM functions and leave the printing to happily continue. You could also start listening to music and switch to a different machine but leaving...
