...I was recently preparing a presentation at work for a client and their request was that we transferred it to a flash drive (or memory pen as my boss calls them!) Following a quick call to our IT department a Kingston DataTraveler USB flash drive soon arrived on my desk. For those who have never seen one, flash drives are a modern alternative to the ancient technology of floppy disks. You can easily transfers file to and from it and it is reusable unlike storing stuff on CD. The Kingston DataTraveler that I have is white in colour with a green tag on it which gives the name and the memory size. It's approximately 6.5cm in length and less than a centimetre in width so the downside is that it can be easily lost, although it does come with a hole at one end where you would be able to hook it to a key ring or neck tag. Kingston DataTraveler USB flash drive - 2 GB

Advantages: fast, lifetime-warranty
Disadvantages: nothing

...I gave my 2GB Kingston flash drive a few months ago and I think it's really great. I can use it for Microsoft Windows Vista ReadyBoost to speed up my PC. It's not too expensive and it has got a life-time warranty. It's really fast and every operating system contents a driver to use it. If you want to buy a somewhat cheap flash drive, and need a good quality buy that. Most of new PCs can boot from USB nowadays. Thanks to the USB 2.0 technology I can boot up my favourite live Linux distribution from it and I can save it back when I finished the work. You can use it for system rescue too but if you don't need these special "features" just use it to store and move data. :)...

Freecom DataBar 4GB, Great USB stick

Advantages: Fast, Large amount of storage, small sized product, great alround

...Hi today I will be reviewing a Kingston DataTravler 2GB USB Flash Drive. I bought this a few months ago after losing my other flash drive. It cost me 9.97 from PC World but I believe you can get them cheaper in other places. Speed For the data that I transfer to it i.e. pictures and some small visual basic programs it transfers them extremely quick compared to some cheap flash drives I have used in the past. Problems So far I have had no major problems other than in windows vista it is not capable of running ReadyBoost which a free flash drive I had a while ago could. Size The overall size of the flash drive is quiet good the USB connector slides in and out with a rather flimsy press and slide switch. At prices from £10 for a massive 1GB drive this has to be the bargain pen drive for every student or office worker out there. This was a bargain, but now they have dropped below £10, so are definately a bargain for anybody. The stick is small in size and has an attractive green design, with a matching green LED status light. The 2GB (actually 1.86GB) memory provides ample storage space.
