Corsair Flash Voyager USB flash drive - 32 GB
Review of Corsair Flash Voyager USB flash drive - 32 GB by
reallyhandsomeharry
Advantages: large storage and build of quality
Disadvantages: expensive for a flash drive but you get what you pay for
...As a rule I try not to carry my laptop around with me, opting instead to transport files the easy way using USB flash drives, of which I have 3 due to the size of the files I have to load and upload. My first encounter with a flash drives came with the expensive yet disappointing Lexar and over the years I've steadily moved from one to another gradually increasing the memory size as the size of files seems to spiral out of all proportion! I paid just £65.99 for the Corsair Flash Voyager USB flash drive from our IT supplier and with a 32 GB memory I had anticipated it being my final purchase of a flash drive for a considerable period of time.
Opting for a USB flash drive from a company like Corsair meant that I knew I would be getting a product of quality, and the Flash Voyager oozes quality and style. Compact and durable the drive can...

Victorinox Swissbit USB flash drive - 1 GB
Review of Swissbit SWISSMEMORY USB Victorinox retroALOX - USB flash drive - 1 GB by
Itstar77
Advantages: Durable and Well built. Nice Design.
Disadvantages: Doesn't have any Swiss Army Knife accessories.
...This is a USB flash drive produced by Victorinox, makers of the Swiss Army knife. The design is basically a USB Swiss Army knife without the knife and accessories. The outer case is made of durable aluminium rather than the more traditional red plastic. The design is nice and much better than a lot of other flash drives, however I think i prefer the more iconic red plastic version. The drive is about 6 cm long, just over 1 cm wide and just under 1 cm high.
The USB stick is clear plastic allowing you to see the circuit board inside, while the USB plug is gold coloured. The stick flips out of the case when in use and is held in place by a clip at the keyring end when being carried. A small green LED on the circuit board indicates activity when plugged into a USB port.
The drive is USB 2.0 compatible and I have used it on both PC...

Victorinox Swissbit USB flash drive - 512 MB
Review of Swissbit SWISSMEMORY USB Victorinox retroALOX - USB flash drive - 512 MB by
Itstar77
Advantages: Durable and Well built. Nice Design.
Disadvantages: Doesn't have any Swiss Army Knife accessories
...with USB 1.1 ports but it doesn't work with those in my keyboard. The transfer of data is as fast as any other flash drive I have used. The drive comes preloaded with security software to prevent unauthorised access to your data although this only seems to be compatible with Windows machines.
Overall this a decent USB stick that works well and is a more attractive design than most. It feels very durable and well put together. 512MB isn't a huge amount of memory these days so I would recommend going for at least the 1GB model. Some people may prefer Victorinox's other USB Swiss Army Knives which have the usual knife and accessories in addition to the USB stick. However, for transporting data, especially on planes, this device may be the sensible option....

Disgo lite USB Flash drive
Review of Disgo Lite - USB flash drive - 64 MB by
Deal_lion
Advantages: good looking small and compact
Disadvantages: small memory for larger files
... Overview
I first got this when a 64mb flash drive was seen to be massive and since then I have never looked back, it really is tough as nails.
Memory
This is the smaller 64mb flash drive which may seem small but it can hold a lot, as a student I always have to make, edit and transfer documents so if I constantly have to print out copies it becomes expensive and tiring so it's easier to stick it on a flash drive and give it to a teacher. Even when I have had much larger files like pictures that I have been giving to friends I have used this and found that there is plenty of space; however I do recommend that if there are a lot of photos that you zip the file and then put it onto the drive as it saves a lot of space.
Reliability
Like I said before this flash drive is tough as nails I have had this now...

Viking USB 2.0 Flash Drive 1GB
Review of Viking USB 2.0 Drive USB flash drive - 1 GB by
bindie
Advantages: Small, High Capacity, Quick Transfer Rate
Disadvantages: None As Yet
...I bought this pen drive when I came across a website that I found on google by accident. They were selling it in their sale for £14.99. So I though that I would give it a try.
It cam in the post, and I opened the bag that it came in, and I was shocked by the size of the pen. It was the smallest pen that I had ever seen. I was worried at first because it is so small that it would be easy to lose it, and I thought that I would very quickly. Although there is a hole at the end where you can put a clip through so you can attach it to something, i.e. around you neck, on a key ring, etc.
It has a lid to keep the USB connection clean and so that it can not be broken. Once it has been taken off, you can plug it straight into the USB port on you computer. It works at its best via the USB 2.0 port. This allows high speeds of data transfer...

Sony Micro Vault Tiny - USB flash drive - 1 GB
Review of Sony Micro Vault Tiny - USB flash drive - 1 GB by
Itstar77
Advantages: Stylish design. Available in a variety of colours.
Disadvantages: Too small and easy to lose. Flimsy carrying pouch.
...Sony's Microvault Tiny flash drives have been available for some time now and like other USB pen drives they are coming down in price and are available in increasing capacities.
The pen drive itself is very easy to use. It works fine on Windows machines and Apple Macs. A small green light shows when data is being transferred. Like other pen drives they offer a highly durable way to store and transport files.
What sets these pen drives apart from the rest are their looks. The design is very stylish and futuristic and in my view these are some of the nicest looking pen drives out there. They are available in a variety of colours, depending on the capacity of the drive. They are also the smallest and thinnest pen drives I have seen - smaller in real life than in the picture. It's amazing how much information can be stored...

Kingston DataTraveler USB flash drive - 2 GB
Review of Kingston DataTraveler I - USB flash drive - 2 GB by
xmouse
Advantages: fast, lifetime-warranty
Disadvantages: nothing
...I gave my 2GB Kingston flash drive a few months ago and I think it's really great. I can use it for Microsoft Windows Vista ReadyBoost to speed up my PC. It's not too expensive and it has got a life-time warranty. It's really fast and every operating system contents a driver to use it. If you want to buy a somewhat cheap flash drive, and need a good quality buy that. Most of new PCs can boot from USB nowadays. Thanks to the USB 2.0 technology I can boot up my favourite live Linux distribution from it and I can save it back when I finished the work. You can use it for system rescue too but if you don't need these special "features" just use it to store and move data. :)...

Kingston USB flash drive
Review of Kingston DataTraveler I - USB flash drive - 128 MB by
neilhobson
Advantages: Small, stylish, very lightweight yet seems robust
Disadvantages: I suppose it's only 128mb yet plenty for my use
...Purchased this from ebuyer for a mere £8 - its now gone up a bit - but still a bargin. I mainly bought it to store backups of important letters and spread sheets, however thought I would see how it worked first with it being so cheap. Plugged it in to my USB port and sure enough XP recognised it staight away ( you can download drivers for 98 etc as they are not supplied).
For my first time using one of these Flash Memory Drives it was very easy, it appeared as an extra hard drive under "my computer" in XP, opened it up and decided to copy and paste a few pictures to take around to a mates PC - just to see how it went.
The jargon on back of packet says you can store 96 pictures from a 3MPcamera - I'm already up to 100 and it will take more - so it obviously depends how your camera compresses them. For those who want to know...

A 'Must Buy' Flash Drive
Review of IronKey Secure Flash Drive USB flash drive - 1 GB by
burns2007
Advantages: Waterproof, Tamper Proof, Capacity, USB 2.0, Slim, Plug and Play
Disadvantages: None
...Capacity
***********
The digital capacity of this flash drive is 1GB which is the same as 1024MB which means it is extremely suitable for large amounts of work such as word documents and decent sized downloads such compressed files.
Design
**********
This is an extremely fancy flash drive from the look of it with its slim metallic look which can be very pleasing on the eyes however one of the faults with it that I have found with a lot of my flash drives that I own is that when I take the top off to reveal the USB adapter it is extremely easy to put the top down and lose it because I'm not able to attach it to the back end of the flash drive.
I found that due to its slim nature it was easily able to fit into any USB port even with another USB port been used next door to it which I found a lot of flash drives that are being...
