...Having been introduced to Skype (www.skype.com) recently by a colleague, I though I'd get myself a headset to make full use of this service - ALTHOUGH THIS IS NOT A REVIEW OF SKYPE ITSELF. This pack consists of a set of headphones with an lenglth and angle adjustable (but not very) boom microphone on one side with an in-line mute/volume control switch on the nice long cable (with a clip to attach it to your shirt) that ends in a pair of jack plugs - one to plus in to your PC's headphone socket, and one to plug into the microphone socket. Also in the box is an adaptor that converts those jack plugs to a USB plus - great if your PC doesn't have a soundcard (and hence no jack plug sockets), or, like me and my laptop, you want to plus the headset into a docking station to allow hassle free docking/undocking. ...Plantronics is one of the biggest names in headsets and has a wide range of products. The .Audio 45 is lightweight with a very flexible headband, although it is a little on the flimsy side and not overly attractive. The speaker drivers are constructed from hard plastic and are covered by thin pads. As a result, they aren't very comfortable to wear. Seperate cables come down from both sides, increasing the chances of getting yourself in a tangle. This headset can be connected either by USB or standard analog connections. However, the microphone plug lacks colour coding, so you're forced to peer at the symbols on the connectors to find out which is which. this isn't too much of an issue, but it makes things more difficult when you're scrabbling about the back of your comnputer. ...The Plantronics DSP 400 headset is the perfect headset for anyone interested in Podcast making, internet calling or video gaming. I have owned this headset for many years now and it is a fantastic product. At the time, it cost £50 although I got it for £30. You'll be able to pick it up for a lot less now, and its certainly worth it! I use mine mainly for internet calling with my friends and the sound quality of the earphones is exemplary. In addition, the headset is noise canceling meaning that whilst you speak down it, the headset filters out that frustrating background noise most microphones give you. The headset also folds away so that it is small and can be stored easily. I've been using mine whenever I get the chance and have since didtched the motorola headset I was previously using. They come in 6 different colours and ave a silver ear piece and a silver voice piece end. You wear it by wrapping around your ear and have the bottom bit poking out from under your lobe and towards you lips. ...It's true. Plantronics gear is great stuff. When Halo 2 was drawing near, I decided I just had to have this headset, for the Halo 2 logo. A bit sad, I know, but it's actually a really, really good piece of equipment. ~~~ Appearance ~~~ Whereas with the official Xbox Live headset it's a speaker, with a microphone on a tube of plastic, which clips onto a piece of plastic that sits above your ears round the back of your head, this is an actual headset. Advantages: comfy all day wear

...This headset is a bit expensive for its quality. Although i bought mine outside the country for a considerable lesser price, had i known better, i would have bought a wireless one. It is still functional after two years. I lost both of the voice tube microphone cover though and i think that is whats causing too much echo when i talk and too much mic sensitivity. That also causes alot of feed back so i have to press on mute all the time, and everytime i am done speaking, to avoid the feedbacks. On the upside it supports all Plantronics amplifiers and USB-to-headset adapters so i guess i just have to get one. It is also comfortable to wear for long hours. I would not recommend to get leatherette ear cushions, that made my ears sweat and itchy eeks.... Read review

...After standing on my old head set and breaking the microphone I was forced to go out and buy a new Microphone or new headset. Whilst browsing my local computer store I found this pretty and cheap Logitech headset. At less than 30 pounds and connecting using USB I thought I would give it a go. The head set is a very nice and stylish design with a robust feel and feels very good round your head. With soft cushion padding around the headphones there is an aesthetic feel to the design making it very comfortable to wear. With an acceptably long USB cable it manages to reach to the back of my desk and down to the back of my computer. The main control centre and amplifier for the head set is on the cable about half a foot away from the USB jack, meaning that the head set is a lot lighter than other USB headsets and a lot more comfortable... ...This microphone headset simply plugs into the USB port on any PS2 console. The port is found beneath the controller and memery ports location. It is very easy to install the Headset its plug and play. TheLogitech Headset lets you talk with your online friends, play online games. Headset only comes in one color gray but the color is not to bad in quality. It also has a leather cover on the earphone but very easy to break. The newer versions this unit come with a mute button, while older ones don't but really this is not needed because most online games come with a mute option anyway. The Logitech Headset is very good value for the money but if you want something a bit more sturdy then you will end up paying 2* more. ...The artwork on the box of the product shows a man talking animatedly into the headset connected via his laptop, nothing strange as of yet, apart from the fact that he is sitting in the middle of the park, looking needless to say a complete fool…. Jokes aside, the Logitech30 is conventional in appearance, with closed-cup earpads and a microphone connected to a flexible cable. It sports a USB connection which makes it very easy to connect to your PC or Mac. However, there are no analog connections, which means that you are unable to use the headset with a sound card. Atleast the sound quality is good. It doesn't have the detail of the higher and more impressive models such as the Sennheiser PC155 USB but this is masked to an extent by the high level of volume which it produces.
