Trust External 4 Port USB Hub
Review of Trust 4 Port USB Hub - HU 4140p by
tokenboy
Advantages: Price.
Disadvantages: You have to destroy the box to get the unit out.
...Trust 4 Port USB Hub.
Basics first I suppose. For the non techies out there, this device is used to connect up to four USB devices to your P.C., such as digital cameras. If like me you only have two USB ports on the back of your pc then this little device is a good investment for you. It is external, so there is no need to take the sides off of your computer and start mucking about inside.
The box contents are as follows.
USB Hub
USB Cable
Velcro Tape
Protective Carry Case
Multi Language User's Manual.
The hub is a small black unit with single connecting point on the back and four USB ports on the front for your USB peripheral such as digital cameras and MP3 players. A really big well done for Ciao for not putting a picture up, as I did provide the web address so that they could. The dimensions are 75mm...

usb hub
Review of USB HUB 4P - hub - 4 ports by
kbestant
Advantages: very useful
Disadvantages: drains speed more devices you have
...anybody that has a usb hub will know they are fantastically useful, usb is now the industary standard most gadgets and addons, including printers, keyboards, mice, joypads, joy sticks, external hardrives and many other things.
this hub comes in a funky yellow colour , that may not be everyones taste, but i like it ! to be honest it counldnt be any simplier to get up and running.. plug it in an aviable usb slot, install the software and your away, as mentioned with most new products being usb compatbile, you will not always have enough ports to have all devices plugged in at once, this is the beauty of this product, it splits one usb port into 4.
this does however come at the cost of speed on usb 1.0 devices, as usb 1.0 is only transferring around 11mbs data, if for example u have an external harddrive and a mouse and a keyboard...

Easyconnect 4 Port USB
Review of Trust EasyConnect 4 Port USB2 Mini Hub HU-4440p - hub - 4 ports by
Biggsl02
Advantages: Works straight out of the box, Easily Portable
Disadvantages: Short connection cable, Only gives you 3 more ports
...I bought this Hub for my Dell Laptop around a month ago now. It is a good product, and was particuarly easy to install. It works straight out of the box and the computer installs the drivers for you, so there is no need to install any extra software. I dont receive any noticable performance drop of something that is connected through the HUB, although my Wireless mouse which uses a USB connection is for some reason not recognized when used through the Hub. This could be a problem with the mouse, although I have had no problems with it so far (It is a Logitech v500 Cordless mouse). I would recommend the product for someone who is running out of USB ports on a Laptop computer, although I think there are better products out there if portability is not a factor (ie a Desktop computer). Another point worthy of note is that it has a very short...

USB Hub:- Reliable USB Connection
Review of Belkin USB Hub hub - 4 ports by
Brianglo
Advantages: Small,stlish,value for money
Disadvantages: Plasticy. But all it will do is sit on a shelve.
...Being a fan of new technology and testing it as part of my work role , I have accumulated several USB devices.
Getting fed up of having to climb round the back of PC every time I want to plug something in I went on an exbidition to PC World on the hunt for a solution.
At 29.95 I found the solution in a Belkin 4 port USB Hub.
Sylish design and a good brand name made this product the only real choice for me.
The product comes complete with a power brick,USB cable and a set of instructions. Adding this to your system couldnot be simpler.
Plug one lead into PC USB port, the other end into hub. Plug in your USB devices to the hub and errrr thats it. No drivers to install,no PC to take apart , no nothing.
In my case , some of my devices needed power to be supplied by the USB port. In these cases , the supplied power brick can...

Targus Ultra Mini 4-Port USB Hub
Review of Targus Ultra Mini Hub - hub - 4 ports by
matt_fantastic
Advantages: Funky glowing lights
Disadvantages: Cheaper "clones" are available
...I bought the Targus Ultra Mini 4-Port USB Hub as I have more USB items than USB sockets on my laptop docking station.
Its compact dimensions (width 9.5 cm, depth 4 cm, height 1.5 cm, weight 40 g)and included USB connection cable allow it to fit anywhere on the desk, and its four USB 2.0 ports (480Mbps data transfer) allow rapid connection to all sorts of peripherals. It's also backward compatible with older USB 1.1 devices, and Apple devices I believe, too.
Installation (with Windows XP SP2) is a doddle, with no drivers aor anything to install, just plug it in, wait a few seconds while Windows does its stuff, and we're off. Connecting USB peripherals previously connected directly prompts Windows to repeat its "Found New Hardware" business, but this takes just a few seconds.
When peripherals are connected, the plastic around...

USB is for me
Review of Belkin Hi-Speed USB 2.0 4-Port Hub - hub - 4 ports by
sit2020
Advantages: Have plenty of USB ports at any time
Disadvantages: Can be a bit of a pain when it comes to the power supply.
...the ports so much easier.
Which model did I choose?
I chose the Belkin Hi-Speed USB 2.0 4-Port Hub; this was based on the price, availability and looks. The price and availability of the USB hub were my main purchasing considerations.
What did I get?
I got the main USB hub, a connection cable (one end plugs into the hub and the other plugs into a USB port on the computer), a transformer (this supplies power to the hub via a cable that plugs into the hub, more about this later in the review) and very limited instructions. This all gave me change from £25.
What does it look like?
The hub itself is squircle shaped (a cross between a square and a circle) on one end are four USB ports, at one side is a socket for connecting the USB lead that connects the hub to the computer and another socket for the power supply that comes from...

A useless hub
Review of Sitecom USB 2.0 Pocket hub CN-032 - hub - 4 ports by
skuzzle
Advantages: Small, neat, 4 ports
Disadvantages: Useless
...The sitecom 4 port USB2.0 pocket hub... probably the most useless thing I have ever bought.
As USB hubs go, this one looks pretty reasonable, was priced fairly and the box led me to believe it would do what I needed from a USB hub, which i the same thing I would expect all USB hubs to do.
Well I couldn't have been more wrong.
On first impression it seemed ok. I plugged it into my pc and then plugged my USB mouse into the hub. Not a problem... everything as it should be.
So that was that. I'd bought the hub and I was happy with it.
No for long though. The surprise came when I plugged in my USB jumpdrive. The drive would not work and neither would the mouse. This seems to be a common occurance with having more than 1 item plugged into the hub.
Email communication with Sitecom was most interesting. I was told by them that in most...

What To Do With All Those USB Plugs
Review of Belkin Hi-Speed USB 2.0 4-Port Hub - hub - 4 ports by
jamiem
Advantages: Easiest Possible Installation
Disadvantages: Uses Yet Another Mains Socket
...second. This is ideal for external CD-Writers and hard drives etc.
----=What Does The Hub Do?=----
What do you do when you have used all of your USB ports on your computer? Cry? No! You get a Belkin 4 port hub. It basically plugs in to one of your existing ports and allows you to then plug a further 3 extra devices in. No installation is required; it is a straight plug n play job. You can "daisy chain" these devices to connect up to 127 USB peripherals to each socket on your PC. The only downside is that you do have to plug it in to a mains socket, meaning yet another one to find.
----=What Does It Look Like?=----
In keeping with the "high tech" look, it is cased in a semi-transparent smoked case. On the back are the 4 USB ports, with 4 corresponding LED's on the front to show connection/activity. Also on the back...

Great Little Hub
Review of Logitech Premium 4-Port USB Hub for Notebooks - hub - 4 ports by
naesxx
Advantages: Hi Speed, Small, Logitech
Disadvantages: None as of yet!
...4 Port Hub
Bought this as an add-on for my Home PC, although very small and excellent for Notebooks, in fact its designed for notebooks and its comes in a very small form factor it connects with a USB A - USB B Mini the features are
Features 4 ports
Provides data transfer rate of up to 480 Mbps
Plug-n-play does not require any added software
This Hub is your basic 4 port hub connect up to four devices with USB and supporting high speed it gives great speeds for transferring files, although you do need to make sure the port you are connecting too is high speed to take advantage of that but works well with USB 1.1 too, it comes in a nice piano black sheen with clear indicated port points and is supplied with connection cable, its compatible with Windows up to Vista and also MacOS X 10.1 or later, to be honest...

External USB HUB
Review of Belkin - USB HUB by
jonwhite
Advantages: external plug in device, easy to set up, runs smoothly
Disadvantages: None
...If you need to increase the number of USB ports on your system then I can highly reccomend the Belkin External USB Hub F5U021. Just plug it in and away you go and at just £24.99 from PCWorld it is very good value for money. It comes complete with everything you need to be up and running in under 1 minute.
It has provided me with the solution as to how to plug 4 USB devices into 2 ports. It now runs my 2 printers, webcamera and scanner through one port without any problems of any sort.
This small box of electronics plugs directly into an existing USB port and can then run upto 4 seperate USB devices via its own 4 USB ports situated at the rear. It comes with its own power source which you may or may not need to use depending upon what devices you want to run through it. By using the power supply your devices will get the same power...
