The speakers are rather soft and even at maximum power, I still would have to sit near to the laptop to hear clearly at times. I would strongly recommend buying external speakers. The paint on my keyboard are also fading off only few months after buying it. I also feel that the infrared port is placed at an inconvenient place, on the front right of the laptop. When connecting to a external device, you would have to place the device in front of the laptop, which makes it uncomfortable to type on the keyboard. The laptop does however also have an audio out mini-jack should you wish to connect to headphones/speakers. It also has mic-input which works fairly well. One strange omision is the ability to raise and lower the volume from the keyboard. Most laptops can do this, but this has been left out. The networking - The best feature of this laptop is the wireless adapter built into the laptop. In the past this was only available on higher end laptops. This supports 802.11b and 802.11g networks. Input Devices Keyboard Not something you can go into great depth but i like the keyboard on this its nice and wide unlike some laptops, I prefer this keyboard to my keyboard on my desktop. TouchPad The laptop comes with a nice touchpad, it has a white line on the right hand side which can be used for easy scrolling down waeb pages or documents, which is a nice touch. ...I decided it was about time to get a laptop when Id finally had enough of lugging my huge pc everytime I moved house (which is about every other month!) so I needed something cheap but something good. After a long time searching online I came across this laptop. It has many of the features that the expensive laptops have but at a price I could afford! I bought mine from ebuyer.com for £608.99 inc VAT with £4.99 for p+p. IN GENERAL The preinstalled programs are a great idea for first time users or computer illiterates but I found it slightly annoying having to uninstall their programs so I could install my favourites. Also their printer and camera driver information takes up about 200MB of space and is completely useless as standard drivers are on XP and those that arent come with the printer or camera that you've bought. ...to be the brightness of the screen. Even on its brightest setting it appears dull and dim and in certain lights appears almost unreadable (particularly sunlight). The screen also appears to have a matt texture to it which makes cleaning a nightmare. Get ready with those screen wipes! The keyboard has a standard QWERTY layout with touch sensitive keys. The addition of the Blue Function key means many of the buttons have additional functionality for controlling Screen brightness, sleep mode, etc. Connectivity is fabulous. ...and colourful though it does look a little blurry to me at times, this may be more to do with the video card performance than the screen itself mind. Sound quality through the built in speakers is predictably pretty poor but not so bad through headphones. Connectivity: Headphone socket, microphone socket, phone line connection for the V.92 56k modem, PS/2 port for mouse/keyboard, 2x USB ports, network connection, S-Video (TV out), parallel port for printer, serial port, monitor connection and 2 PCMIA card slots. Think I got everything there, its pretty well equipped in this department. I Ordered the laptop on a Saturday and it had been delivered to me by the Thursday, and that including returning signed documents. I can highly recommened dabs.com online finance facility for its ease of use when purchasing something just a bit more expensive. The laptop has a 15inch TFT screen, a nice soft keypad, touchpad, blue lighting on the keys, a CD-RW / DVD drive, firewire port, built in stereo speakers, USB ports, battery pack and charger. The screen is clear and crisp, DVD's look good when being played backm abd the speakers provide a good sound quality as well. ...I never bought my NX9010 by choice - my ThinkPad got damaged and my home insurance replaced it with one of these. I've had it a full year now so it has had a proper field test! The only problems I have had so far have been software related… Sometimes when I switched it on, the machine just would not load any further than the welcome to windows screen. I eventually learnt that this was a software conflict between Windows XP service pack 2 and Norton anti Virus 2004. After binning the anti virus software all has been well. So the laptop then…. Stylish and sturdy it has a robust grey and silver plastic case, and so far it hasn't shown any scratches, maybe it is scratch resistant? Advantages: Tough little versatile laptop with a great viewing angle.
Disadvantages: Needs a little more RAM for games, but is easily added up tp 2GB

...This laptop is an absolute bargain! I bought one for my first year at university and although it only comes with 512MB RAM an extra 256MB makes this a versatile computer that copes really well with anything I can throw at it from Games such as Half Life 2 which tend to be a bit too high graphic for most standard laptops. The graphics card used is ATI Radeon Xpress 200M. It comes complete with biometric finger scanner to let you log in which is not only shiny but very useful too.You might forget your password, but you don't tend to forget your finger! There is a finger touchpad and two buttons plus a touch scroll section to the touch pad.
