USB modem for all
Review of Turbocomm E500 USB modem by
skul
Advantages: Stable work on any lines, low price, small size, suitable for desktop and notebook PC's
Disadvantages: Need P166MMX CPU or higher
...So, here is new USB modem from Turbocomm based on STMicroelectronics chipset. It's good choice for not only desktop PC's users, but for mobile computers users too. Small size, perfect design, super quality. Work very good and stable on all phone lines (I'm living in Ukraine, where phone lines is terrible!). Due to use of USB modem don't need power adapter and not limited by your COM port speed (you can set max speed up to 460800 bps in MODEMS applet of Windows control panel). Of course, very simple to install (REAL plug&play), just plug it to USB port of your PC's and install driver. Also, bundled with lot of software (Bitware fax/voice/data communication program).
Also, equipped with useful and easy-to-install drivers.
I bought it cause it created special for me :), I can put it in pocket and use with any PC with USB port.
The only...

T.Mobile Web 'n' Walk USB Modem.
Review of T.Mobile Web 'n' Walk USB Modem by
xXDeliciousXx
Advantages: No need for a BT landline.
Disadvantages: Signal strength can vary from time to time.
...****Web 'n' Walk USB Modem****
Web 'n' Walk USB is a great new concept in mobile Internet. It works through a supplied Mobile phone number from T.Mobile, giving you instant access to the Internet through the supplied USB Modem. This number is only used for Internet access and is not your Mobile number.
It is really easy to set up by simply running a CD which installs the USB Manager software icon straight to your desktop. Included in the Manager application is Email, contacts, and statistics, which show your signal strength, upload and download speed etc.
It comes supplied with a USB connector which you simply plug into your USB port. It is slim and unobtrusive, and you place your supplied sim card into it for activation.
It does advise not to be touched when on, due to low omittions of radio frequency energy. It also...

BT Voyager 100 USB Modem
Review of BT Voyager 100 USB by
Martinscholes
Advantages: Good, hard-working USB modem
Disadvantages: None
...When we signed up for AOL Broadband we were told that a modem would, naturally, be included as part of the package.
The modem that we received was a BT Voyager 100. The BT Voyager 100 is small and compact and -touch wood!- has never given us any cause for concern.
Hooking it up is very easy. Hey. If I can do it, so can almost anyone else! You plug a blue cable into the USB port on the modem. The yellow cable is then plugged into the BT ADSL MF50 line box which is plugged into the phone point. You load the software into the computer, and you are well away, as the saying goes.
With AOL the setting up process regarding the modem is virtually automatic so should not present you with any problems whatsoever.
The BT Voyager 100 is light in weight and, as I said before, compact in size and dimensions. It is just under 4.5 inches...

ADSL Modem
Review of Netgear DM602 ADSL-Modem by
miss_d_bus
Advantages: small, cheap, fast
Disadvantages: gets hot, not as cheap as USB only modems
...So this is the device needed to get the ADSL line working but how well does it work?
Appearance
=
The first thing I noticed about this model is the colour of it. Its silver and this gives it a modern appeal. Its small and rather thin. It is only 2.8cm x 17.5cm x 11.8cm so makes it a compact modem.
It is also light and weights in at 600 grams. When the modem is switched on, it has yello LEDs that light up to show if the power is on, USB, ethernet and if the ADSL line is there.
System Requirements
* ADSL Internet service from BT and your chosen ISP. I use Nildram.
* Ethernet (netowrk) or USB connection on your PC
* Windows 95, 98, Me, NT, 2000, XP, Mac
* Internet Explorer 5.0 or Netscape 4.7 or better - Tthis is so you can access the configuration menu.
Box Contents
* DM602...

3 Mobile Broadband ZTE MF622 USB Modem.
Review of 3 Mobile by
jmz1984
Advantages: Use literally anywhere with a mobile phone signal. 98% coverage. Full On Regular Internet Access
Disadvantages: Running out of credit, unused bandwidth does not rollover
...I went and bought the ZTE MF622 USB Broadband modem after reading about it on the 3 website. What made me go out and buy it was the fact that existing 3pay customers got it for £70 instead of £99. Since buying it the price has dropped to 50%. So i presume that would be about £50 now. Obviously this is the best choice if you dont want a landline in order to enjoy the full benefit of broadband. It's just as good as wifi, as you can move about freely. No need to be near any phone line as the signal works the same as your mobile. As long as your within coverage of the mobile signal masts. Which are plentiful these days. I live in Crewe, Cheshire. Im apparently in the 3 turbo network area which is meant to give you a connection rate of about 3.6mbps. Which is pretty good going. All the big websites which use a lot of bandwidth...

Fancy 25Mbps+ Broadband.. One Day you'll get it.
Review of Linksys ADSL2 Modem with USB & Ethernet ADSL2MUE by
Stingwray
Advantages: Good Realiability and Future Proof.
Disadvantages: People Mis-understanding the Product.
...This review is to put the right all the wrong reviews that I have read across the internet as it seems the main problem that people have had with this product is that they don't understand how to use it.
Anyway, the review. The reason why I bought this modem was because I was looking for an Ethernet Modem and wanted something that would last me a long time, the ADSL2MUE fits the bill perfectly and has some extra features, although I probably won't be using these.
Ethernet Modems are quite hard to find in the UK, but they are far superior to USB Modems in all areas, it is because USB Modems are cheaper than Ethernet that ISPs supply them with their broadband packages. The Advantages over USB is that you don't require any drivers, so that means that less system resources are used up controlling the device and also that it will work...

Quick, easy and fast internet access
Review of Sitecom DC 204 USB ADSL Modem by
baldloaf
Advantages: User-friendly, quick installation, no maintenance required
Disadvantages: Included setup guide could be more clearer / up-to-date
...Here goes with my first review!!!
My girlfriend and I purchased this modem for £34.99 from Maplins and it has provided a very reliable and fast broadband internet connection since.
The product comes with a ten year warranty and all necessary software to connect you to the internet within minutes. It works with almost every adsl connection around at the moment and only requires that your telephone line is capable of establishing an adsl connection and that you have an account with an ISP provider (the people who you pay to kindly let you use the internet).
Once plugged in, the modem will immediately establish whether your adsl line | | |
