Belkin wireless G USB Network Adaptor
Review of Belkin Wireless G USB Network Adapter Network adapter by  Chosen

Advantages: Cheap
Disadvantages: Not enough information on software or packaging.

...I recently bought a Belkin wireless adaptor when I went into a house share and needed to have the internet. I use the internet but I know little about the technical side of things. I paid £19.99 for the adaptor in PC world who only had Belkin at the time which I thought was not expensive. However installing it was a nightmare. The 3 easy steps on the box seemed so easy; Install the software, plug the adaptor into a USB PORT - start networking! If only it was that simple. Every time my computer searched for a network it crashed. I phoned the Belkin company who took me step by step through the technical part and still we could not get internet. Eventually the Belkin assistant told my for some reason my computer was not recognising the new network. Being increasingly frustrated I considered taking the adaptor back for a refund... SuperG Wireless USB Adaptor
Review of Siemens Gigaset USB Adaptor 108 by  robosapien

Advantages: Small, easy to use and relatively stable
Disadvantages: Poor support and old drivers

...I purchased the Siemens Gigaset USB Adaptor 108 from Play.com for £7.99 including P&P. An absolute bargain when you consider what lesser devices retail for. This USB adaptor supports the 108Mbps SuperG wireless standard, and is backwards compatible with a, b and regular G networks too. It supports WEP, WPA and WPA2. The unit is very small, about the size of a box of matches. It has, what appears to be, a shielded cable about a metre long with a standard USB plug on the end. There is a little aerial which folds down, though this doesn't really make it any more convenient to carry round. There are two green LEDs to tell you the power is connected and to show wireless network activity. The unit is light, but feels like it's well made. I had read on a few websites not to use the installation CD as the drivers on it are old... Read review

Linksys Wireless USB Adaptor's
Review of Linksys Wireless-G USB Network Adapter with SpeedBooster WUSB54GS by  daveylee20

Advantages: Perfection in every way. Shame it dosnt make you a cuppa tea also :-)
Disadvantages: The price would be seen as a little steep. But well worth it.

...Where can I start with this fantastic product. Firstly not only is this well worth the money, its durable also. Ease of Installation Well, this is not hard to get wrong, from opening the product its clearly marked on the adaptor to run the cd first. Then it prompts you to plug the adaptor into your USB port. Now, you can ether use the software designed for the adaptor or let windows manage your wireless connection. I'm not sure about windows 2000 but for xp, it saves the login to access the network & auto connects you when you turn your pc on. Very handy if you have kids who use the net allot. Compatibility To be honest, I have not had any problems with the product what so ever. Version/Model This is a WUSB54G-S This has the speed booster. This is handy if your pc is located on the other side of your home... Read review

Belkin Wireless USB adaptor
Review of Belkin Wireless G USB Network Adapter Network adapter by  craggybuk

Advantages: Simple to set up and use
Disadvantages: Software is not the greatest

...I bought this USB network adaptor for my son when he still had his Windows 98 machine as the PCI card that I reviewed previously was too advanced for his hardware. This USB adapter was bought to connect to my Belkin wireless router meaning that I now had a wireless network consisting only of Belkin hardware. --Whats in the box-- On opening the box, there were no real surprises. There was the USB adapter, a stand which would allow you to place the adapter on your desk if you didnt want to have it plugged directly into the back of your PC, the antenna, a quick installation guide and a CD which contained the drivers and a full manual. --Installation-- On reading the quick installation guide, it was apparent that the software had to be installed before the adapter was plugged in. The reason for this was because, when the hardware... Read review

Stable and reliable network adaptor
Review of Intel PRO/100 Network adapter by  baldloaf

Advantages: Easy installation, no maintenance required
Disadvantages: None

...I have been using this network adaptor in my desktop PC running windows 98se for just under a year now and have since had no problems at all with it. The network adaptor is very easy to install. - open up your desktop PC - pick a vacant PCI slot (the white plastic strips with a void down the centre to fit the card in) NOTE: Try not to use the first slot as this might cause an IRQ conflict with your graphics card. This Intel adaptor is usually very good at handling IRQ conflicts anyway and you shouldn't have any problems unlike some other adaptors in which you have to keep trying each slot to see which one it 'gets on with' the most. - switch on your PC (after closing the PC case again) - windows should immediately detect the new device and install the appropriate drivers (no need to even use the driver CD or floppy disk supplied... PlayStation®2 Network Adaptor (£22.99)
Review of Sony Network adapter by  Oimi

Advantages: Enables online gaming experience
Disadvantages: Not needed in latest (slimline) PSTwo

...This device is extremely easy to install, even for those who just know how to open a tin can. It looks like little black box, which turns your PlayStation 2 into a network/internet gaming device. It allows you to experience online game play. Basically, it fits onto the back of your PlayStation 2, secured by some screws. Once you have it installed, you will be able to connect your PlayStation 2 to your broadband Internet connection via an Ethernet cable. What I didn't realise when I purchased mine, was that it was not possible to simply get a network card and attach the PS2, using an Ethernet cable to the PC in order to get an internet connection. Instead, you must get yourself a router, possibly with a built in Modem. My ISP is, however, AOL. AOL provides you with a BT Voyager USB ADSL Modem, which cannot be connected... Read review

360 Live, No Strings.... or Wires Attached
Review of Microsoft Official Xbox 360 Wireless Network Adaptor - Live (Wireless Bridge) by  Andy.mack

Advantages: Play XBox live without the hassle of wires. Easy to set up
Disadvantages: A little too pricey

...When I bought my Xbox 360 I looked into going on Xbox live but as there was a subscription fee I decided against it. Since I moved into my flat however the temptation has slowly increased and this week I finally gave in. It had been a long time coming but while I was in Town on Tuesday night I decided to buy myself the official Microsoft Xbox 360 wireless network adaptor. I thought rather than run another cable around my living room I'd take advantage of the BT wireless hub I have for my broadband and connect my Xbox up remotely. From reading the box it seemed to be nice and easy. You just attached the adaptor to the back of your machine, switched it on and hey presto you were pretty much ready to go online. The reality, whilst still quite straightforward isn't quite that simple. It all went according to plan until the switching... Read review

Wireless at home from work
Review of Belkin Wireless G USB Network Adapter Network adapter by  scuba_angel

Advantages: allows me to get online
Disadvantages: sometimes unreliable

...Since I recently moved from my old workplace in Harrogate to a new one in Lydd (don't worry I had no idea where it was either). I have a few new things to review. This is the first of my new technology reviews. So as I like ciao, clearly I like the internet but the company I work for will not allow its staff to have phone lines put in to the staff accomodation as we're all on mobile contracts and can be moved at anytime, so getting online is something of a challenge when the accomoation is separate from the business building itself. But when the accomodation is in the same building as the business you can take advantage of the wi-fi put in for the use of the customers (soldiers, saliors, airmen). But my laptop is too old to have built in wireless networking, so i needed a usb adaptor to help me take advantage of the facilities... Read review

Networking made easy with Belkin
Review of Belkin USB Ethernet Adapter Network adapter by  sandemp

Advantages: Quick and easy to install | portable | works
Disadvantages: More expensive than internal card | lead could do with being a bit longer

...When I bought my newest computer, I decided to set up a mini network using the new computer as a host and then linking the old one via a crossover cable, which connected the two through their network cards. It was then that I realised that I only had one Ethernet port on the computer, which was already taken up by my cable modem. I was therefore faced with a choice, I could either buy a network card that would need to be fitted into my computer, or I could buy a USB to Ethernet adapter. Well seeing as I really didn’t want to open up my brand new computer, I decided on the adapter, which wasn’t really all that much more expensive. ---What you get--- The adapter comes supplied with an installation CD and instruction booklet, all securely packaged in an slightly oversized box. As this is powered by the USB port there are no power... Read review

Perfect wireless home networking
Review of Belkin ADSL Modem with Wireless-G Router and Wireless G USB Network Adapter - wireless router by  theenglishviet

Advantages: Easy to set up, good range,
Disadvantages: Bit bulky

...I always do my research before making an electronic purchase, have a look on the internet to see what products are availble, compare them against each other and then have a look at the price. If its not in my price range, i discard it! In the end, I went with teh Belkin, mainly because I know that Belkin do quality networking products. I already had a modem router at home, but i have three laptops that i needed to connect, and i don't like being bounded by wires (simply because that means everyone ends up in my room!) so i decided to invest in this. Already an advantage, this product came with a free USB wireless adapter! Firstly, the difference between wireless G and wireless B (802.11g or 802.11b) is that G is faster than B, by about 5 times (although this is the maximum). I don't know of any other differences, i thought... Read review
