It comes in very handy when you need to transfer files and folders from one USB mass storage device to another without wanting to store them on your computer. I have a silly habit of using it as a must do paper weight, those all important must deal with letters get popped underneath the hub. Because these have their own power supply they can be connected together up to about 127 hubs. That might sound great, but I think the computer would crash way before you used all the USB sockets. Advantages: Comfortable, good quality sound, excellent microphone

...the Sennheisers as the default audio device and default microphone input. This plug and play is superb. Plug into a PC, wait a few seconds and the Sennheisers are live with sound and microphone. I have tested this on an Apple Mac Powerbook with equal success - plug in, wait a few seconds and they are active. The headset is marketed as a gaming headset, but will definitely suit someone searching for quality Voice over IP headsets. As one would expect from Sennheiser, sound quality from the headphones is excellent. They may not be studio reference phones, but are certainly good enough to keep my untrained ears happy for hours listening to mp3s or using skype or other voice chat apps. .... The sound quality from the headphones is excellent with very good bass and clear treble. The microphone has noise cancelling which is very helpful for recording or for your friends to hear you properly. There is also a volume control and microphone mute button located on a module on the USB cable making control of the headset very easy. Because the headset is USB and has its own soundcard onboard it allows it to be used as a plug and play device. This means that if you have windows XP or 2000 you can plug it into the new computer and it will work straight away without the need to install drivers. This I have found to be very handy at college where I can plug it in and listen to music without disturbing anyone else. ...COMPATIBILITY This unit is great if you have a game device and want to plug it into your PC. Best use is with a laptop as you tend to not get a game port (usually built on to a sound card on a desktop PC) on them. You do however get a USB port on most now and therefore this allows you to run any game controller that uses the standard 15-pin layout straight into the USB port. However if you are looking to run MIDI audio through to your PC this unit will not do that. On a game port on a soundcard you can also run MIDI through it, this however does not allow you to do that. For that you would need to look at something such as the Creative Soundblaster Extigy. ...It's not always easy or convenient to open your PC to install a new soundcard. You may just not like the idea of physically opening the machine.
