Dazzle DV video editing Pack is a great all in one pack

...I bought this card simply because I saw it on offer for £10 in maplins and I thought its worth a try, well its easily worth its full price, the installation is one of the simplest ever, but you wouldn't expect less from Pinnacle hardware! Windows has native drivers but you tend to find devices always work better with the drivers for the device. For the price you get a basic version of pinnacle studio as well as a bonus disk. Just install the card into a PCI slot load up the PC and insert disc 1, follow the step by step instructions and your done. Now when you connect your camera to the PCs fire wire port it recognised the cameras DV features instantly and auto run pops up like it would if you had plugged in any other memory card offering for you to edit the video in pinnacle studio. ..., and click & rotate right. I have configurations (that I actually use) for Media Player, MS Word, Outlook, Acrobat Reader. In Media Player, I scroll through songs and playlists and select my next listen. In Word & Acrobat Reader, it's really just a big scroll knob, with the click & rotate's set up for page up / page down, while in Outlook, I use it to scroll through folders and messages. Some of the more powerful key commands in applications can be found under its "Help" section, but the possibilities are endless... The next option for me is to set it up to edit video with the Powermate functioning as a jog/shuttle wheel and using the button to "cut". Watch this space... ...COMPATIBILITY This unit is great if you have a game device and want to plug it into your PC. Best use is with a laptop as you tend to not get a game port (usually built on to a sound card on a desktop PC) on them. You do however get a USB port on most now and therefore this allows you to run any game controller that uses the standard 15-pin layout straight into the USB port. However if you are looking to run MIDI audio through to your PC this unit will not do that. On a game port on a soundcard you can also run MIDI through it, this however does not allow you to do that. For that you would need to look at something such as the Creative Soundblaster Extigy.
