USB Stick Heaven
Advantages: Fast, Good Looking And Small
Disadvantages: Way too much packaging, may not be avaliable now
...The Trekstor USB stick 2.0 is the 8GB memory stick version in this range. I actually didn't consider really the brand name as I had never really heard of Treakstor before and wasn't one hundred percent sure if they were reliable. However when I bought it in Currys last year and they had on offer many different memory capacities, ranging from 512Mb to 16Gb.
About It
Bascially 8GB can hold around 2,000 songs, 1,200-2,000 photos (depending on size of photos) and 4 hours of video. Of course this all depends of the sizes and quality but these are for the average person. This however was exactly what I needed as I wanted to carry photos, documents and songs. I was going to get the 2GB stick however I changed my mind as there wasn't much of a price difference so went for the bigger size.
Packaging
It had quite a lot of plastic...

Powerful U3 USB stick
Advantages: Fast, Powerful software
Disadvantages: N/A
...I had gone for several years without a USB stick at all, and I finally came to a point in my life where I required several for distributing a project I was working on. I had a look around for reasonably priced 4Gb USB sticks and I stumbled upon the SanDisk Cruzer Micro U3.
I had recalled reading about U3 devices awhile back so I was quite interested to find out what they were. I discovered that U3 devices pretend to have a CD drive inside them so when you plug in the device it will install its drivers (as with any usb stick) and then it has the ability to autorun software. The software that comes with the USB stick allows certain programs to be installed on the stick, this is very useful as you can run programs and keep your settings saved on your usb stick so that they are not lost from computer to computer.
The software that...

Web 'n' Walk Stick Manager
Advantages: Easy to install, Quick to connect and compact
Disadvantages: Can be slow at times
...midnight to midnight. You can either choose to top up using E-top up (card that comes with the USB) or an online top-up.
I chose the Web 'n' Walk Plus (24 months) and added this to the basket and then was asked to choose a device. They only previously had the USB modem (dongle) but they now have a USB modem stick which is what I chose. This stick is small and many of my friends have mistaken it for a lipstick or a lighter due to the size and the way it looks. It has a lid which keeps the connector safe. It is a shiny black with a pink line at the bottom and the top. As it is a stick and not a dongle it goes straight into the USB port and does not hang from a wire which is what the dongle does. The stick stays in securely and is small enough to not be annoying to you if you are using a laptop.
The price of the USB modem is free...

TV on your PC
Advantages: watch tv without a tv
Disadvantages: the software, weak reception
.... There were lots to choose from, sadly mostly too expensive for me. I noticed that FreeCom had a cheap USB FreeView receiver for around £25 ? great, I thought, so I bought it.
* The package *
I got the USB stick, which included a CD (for the drivers), USB cable, and a tiny free standing aerial that I can only assume is for decorative purposes, as it didn?t work (well, I think I may have got a few channels if I held it whilst standing on one leg on a chair with my left little finger held out). Let?s just say you need an extremely good reception for it to be any good.
I installed the drivers and the TV software (a third party program called TotalMedia by ArcSoft ? see my rant about this below). I plugged the coaxial cable, that was connected to the aerial on the roof of my house, into the USB stick and plugged in the USB stick into...

A perfect USB stick for everyday use
Advantages: Great capacity, small
Disadvantages: Not waterproof
...I bought this stick as it was the cheapest/largest capacity combination I could find, and it has done me proud. I have owned it for 9 months and not had any problems, using it probably four times a week.
Positives
-------------
USB2.0 - which helps.
2gb - big enough for most memory stick uses, sharing photo's, music, documents.
Two attachments - there is two "loops", one on the end of the stick, one on the end of the cap, so if you want to attach it to your key ring or similar then you need not worry you'll find the cap and not the stick!
Small red light - it flashes to let you know it is in use.
Blue clear casing - well it is better than a boring old grey case!
Durable cap - the cap is good at protecting the connector, and has withstood some tough handling.
Small - think a stick of chewing gum.
Negatives...

Cheap, well made and stylish USB stick
Advantages: No worries about losing the lid, U3 software can be useful
Disadvantages: U3 software may not appeal to everyone
...First thing to point out; the stick comes loaded with some software, and a menu to launch these programs will appear when you insert the stick into a Windows PC. This can be useful for carrying software around without needing to install it, but it does waste small bit of disk space, and you may find it annoying. You can download the removal tool for this software from Sandisk's website if you don't like it.
Anyway, it's a great USB drive which is pretty fast, reliable and well made. The metal USB plug has no cover, instead it has an innovative slide switch which brings the plug inside the casing. It means you'll never have to worry about losing the lid to the stick, which is something that happened to every other USB stick I ever owned.
So to sum it up, it's high quality, great value, innovative, and comes with software which you...

Freecom DataBar 4GB, Great USB stick
Advantages: Fast, Large amount of storage, small sized product, great alround
Disadvantages: no neck strap supplied, minor detail.
...-----| Reason for buying |-----
I bought this as an upgrade from my 1GB stick, as i required more space and a more reliable stick, my old one used to corrupt my files.
The price was also very attractive for its size, £17.99 for a 4GB USB stick was exceptional when I bought it around 4 or 5 months ago.
-----| What I have used it for |-----
I used this throughout my studies at school, it was in constant use, exchagning data to and from it numerous times a day. Each transfer was fast, due to it being USB 2.0, and with no corruptions or file loss.
I have also used it to transport mp3 files, movies, and game files (very large files basically, upwards of 2GB) and it did this perfectly.
-----| Pros |-----
Very large even by todays standards, large enough to transport any media type, and lots of it.
Small but doesnt feel...

The Old Reliable of the USB stick world
Advantages: Reliable, Solid, Reasonably Fast, Good Quality
Disadvantages: Plain to look at. No lanyard/only a small loop for thread.
...If you want a solid, reliable, albeit slightly boring, memory stick: This is it. The DataTraveler II plus migo edition USB drive is solid, dependable, all the things a memory stick should be. One thing it isn't is pretty. It doesn't stand out from the crowd, it doesn't scream look on me. It does exactly what it says it does and goes about it with very little fuss. And if it wasn't for the Corsair Flash Voyagers this would be my weapon of choice.
It's reasonably fast. It may not be the fastest out there, but for your average user it seems as fast as necessary.
For once I am speechless about a memory stick. This stick is.. well... boring. This is the business memory stick. It's the I need something to have my thesis on memory stick. It's not the I go skydiving and have wild parties type of memory stick. If this memory stick was...

Going Digital
Advantages: Watching several channels at once.
Disadvantages: You may need a new aerial
...and running I decided to try my old computer with the DVB T stick and lo and behold it worked. Still don't have a clue why this one never worked but anyway it was working.
The device is no larger than a cigarette lighter and comes complete with driver software and a tiny digital aerial which frankly is just for show since you really need a decent signal for the USB powered DVB T stick to work. Using the aerial provided I kept getting the No Signal message.
Installation and usage of the DVB is simplicity in itself, simply load the drivers plug it into a vacant USB slot and the viewing software automatically starts up. The next step is simply to scan and save channels and view at your convenience. The picture is quite good now although I may need to re-position my digital aerial for optimal picture quality. I can now work with my Office...
