...I bought this cleaner last week - I decided to have it delivered from Argos and was pleasantly surprised to find they were including them in their half price sale - £59 instead of £120! I have had some work done indoors and my carpets were absolutely filthy with all the workman walking backwards and forwards so my options were new carpet (too expensive), hand scrubbing (too exhausting) or to buy a carpet cleaner. The latter won!! I had the large 2 in 1 VAX some time ago and, although it did the job well, it was too pernickity to put together and I couldn't be bothered with it in the end. Well, I tried the VAX V 027 Rapide XL last Saturday and was I impressed! It was easy to use (no complicated instructions) and did the job perfectly. ...I bought A Vax Rapide Cleaner In December last year! I paid £160 for it, And also bought a pack of 3 bottles of the conditioner for around £15.. I bought this cleaner as I have a light coloured carpet and I can't stand to see dirty marks on it. Once I unpacked the Vax it was quite easy to put together.. Now for the cleaning test...Filled the tank up with water and conditioner and away we go. At first I didnt see any change to be honest, Just that the carpet was just a slightly darker, Well it would be, it was wet after all. I had a few stains in mind, And moved straight to the slight tea stain by the sofa....And yes after going over the stain 15 or so times it did fade away! (But would it have not done the same if I had just knelt down and scrub it with a cloth?) Ok Next was the hall way! Now this area is the entrance to the house... Read review

The first thing to realise about the Rapide XL is that it will not vacuum up your carpets. The manual also specifically warns against using it to "suck" up pools of spilt liquids. ...The main reason i bought this vax rapide was because i have a young child and carpets and upholstery in lighter colours,i know they don't mix well but i wouldn't swap either. ...Canon suggests that the XL2 provides "unprecedented flexibility" for the digital camcorder user. So, how good is the XL2? Straight out of the box the camera seems impressive. The build quality is good and each camera component feels strong and well built. The supplied user manual leads you through the step-by-step assembly of the camera although some of the stages are not explained very clearly. However, the connection of each of the camera's components to the main body is very logical and could be undertaken without using the manual. ...The canon XL1 is without a doubt an excellent camera, though this is no reason to make a hurried buy. In my experience this camera is very suitable for specific purposes, but not for others. There are plenty of reviews telling you the good points about this camera, to which there are many, and the specs speak for themselves. But here are some things you may not have considered about it's suitability for specific purposes: 1) It's weight. The XL1 is a fairly heavy camera of substantial size, much bigger than it's fellow prosumer camera's. This does make it a sturdy, robust piece of equpment but it does make long day shoots at different locations very tiring.
