jujitsus best laptop yet!!
Review of Fujitsu Siemens AMILO Pro V3515 Edition - Pentium Dual Core T2080 1.73 GHz - 15.4" TFT by  punk_rocker

Advantages: great all rounder
Disadvantages: games

...I really love this laptop, previously siemens haven't really made good computers or laptops but they are now starting to come out with really good products from their Fujitsu ranges. This is a amilo pro V3515, its looks stylish and is quite compact too. It features Intel Pentium Dual Core T2080 / 1.73 GHz processor which runs the 1gb of installed ram like a dream. Also if you use demanding programs and need more ram then this can be upgraded to a maximum of 2gb. This however if quite dear to do and could cost around £50. This laptop has a great 120 GB hard drive to store all your data on, also it runs at 5400 rpm which is rather quick. A criticism to fujitsu would be that this laptop doesn't have a card reader built into it, this is something a lot of people need so i was disappointed to see it didn't contain one. This amilo... Review of Fujitsu Siemens AMILO Pro V3515 Edition - Pentium Dual Core T2080 1.73 GHz - 15.4" TFT by  techno_man_37

Advantages: great speeds
Disadvantages: not alot of extra features

...Fujitsu runs under the siemens brand name. it's a brand that has been around for ages, mainly making TV, DVD players and other electrical goods. Now you've probably all heard about siemens but not really about fujitsu and that's what could put some people off getting there laptops by thinking there a new brand and therefore not reliable. However, recently they have been making more laptops, all of which I think are very good, and its only just now that people are starting to respect them as a good laptop manufacturer too, and are now up to the likes of Acer and sony in the laptop business, however there still nowhere near as well recognised as dell are. This Fujitsu Siemens is an AMILO Pro V3515 Edition. There are many editions of amilos out now so its best having a good look at them all to see which one you'll want. This specific... Read review

Advantages: Great laptop
Disadvantages: none yet

...with the special tft monitor cleaner, just put on a cloth and everything comes off and leaves the monitor nice and gleaming! This laptop is very easy to use for any computer whizz or dummy (like me), as it is very easy to get to grips with. It has taken me all of a week to figure out where programmes are and stuff on here, more used to a computer! The ease is just incredable. Here is the specs of it all that is off the Toshiba Website: Processor type : Intel® Pentium® Dual-Core Processor T2080 clock speed : 1.73 GHz Front Side Bus : 533 MHz 2nd level cache : 1 MB Operating system Genuine Windows® Vista® Home Premium Edition System memory standard : 1,024 (512 + 512) MB maximum expandability : 2,048 MB technology : DDR2 RAM (667 MHz) Hard disk capacity : 160 GB certification : S.M.A.R.T. Good value for money but not perfect
Review of Toshiba Equium A200-15I - Pentium Dual Core T2080 1.73 GHz - 15.4" TFT by  IzzyS

Advantages: Decent spec. including decent memory, card reader, DVD writer etc., quite light and portable
Disadvantages: See review

...for being good multitaskers, so its good to have the computer following suit - we can use that to our advantage, right? ;-) lol! (another note for those that are interested, yes this has a Dual Core processor but yes it isn't one of the best, as you may expect for the price this sells at (c. £500-£550 as of October 2007), its actually a T2080 genuine Intel dual core processor with each of the two mini-processors offering 1.73Ghz, if that helps, but either way its still genuine Intel Dual Core for £500, before I hadn't seen any Dual Core laptops with decent RAM and a good size hard drive for under £600, so its still a good deal in my eyes, even though this is the most budget Dual Core processor Intel provide, or so I believe(?)). Other things I read on the webpage that it comes with, that also made me feel that this would be particularly good... Read review

Budget priced laptop...but with a serious fault
Review of Fujitsu Siemens AMILO Pro V3515 Edition - Celeron M 430 1.73 GHz - 15.4" TFT by  Chris_Smith

Advantages: Reasonably good spec for the price, but not amazing. Quite good looking
Disadvantages: Some small faults and one major fault with freezing/locking up.

...you've got a few programs installed and a few running, the memory soon gets eaten up, particularly if you use an arts program like Adobe Photoshop to edit digital photographs like I do sometimes. So, I decided to upgrade and bought an extra 1GB of RAM for £45 (generic unbranded RAM), and boosting upto 1.5GB RAM has definately made things faster and the laptop more a more capable machine overall, even if you want it for only basic purposes, extra RAM makes programs load faster and there are less delays in processes. Problems -------------- - The battery life is quoted at 2.5 hours, but even with a fully charged battery, it wouldn't run a full 2 hour film, and I had to watch the ending the next day when I got home! I think it lasted around 1h40mins before dying. Maybe it would last longer if you're just typing a document... Read review

Great Laptop, Great Price!
Review of Dell Inspiron 6400 - Pentium Dual Core T2080 1.73 GHz - 15.4" TFT by  tomleedsuk

Advantages: Value for Money
Disadvantages: Occasional faults, long term battery performance

...I was very excited to get my hands on this laptop and I have enjoyed using it. As usual, by buying from Dell it means I have got a very good price for a decent enough machine. The styling isn't likely to win it any awards but it doesn't look bad either. It is quite slimline and nice and light for portable use. The keyboard is a nice size, nicely layed out and contains all the ports (such as 4 USBs and a firewire) you should need. The media direct button is an extra little feature enabling you to manage all your media with ease, without even having to boot up windows. However, I have encountered a few problems with it, ranging from a hard drive with errors on it and a DVD-RW drive which had to be replaced. Although both of these issues caused quite alot of problems I found Dell to be quite helpful in resolving my problems and (during... Read review

Dell Inspiron 6400
Review of Dell Inspiron 6400 - Pentium Dual Core T2080 1.73 GHz - 15.4" TFT by  kesha123

Advantages: light weiht, trendy model
Disadvantages: Heavy and bulky

...When I originally looked at the Dell Inspiron last March I was plesed, yet not blown away. The model was a solid, original product at a competitive price. However Dell's upgrade to that model, the Inspiron 6400, is most definitely aimed at ther entertianment line of the market. ~~~~~~~~~~SPECIFICATION~~~~~~~~~ GENERAL Processor Core Duo Processor number T2400 Processor speed 1.83 GHz Motherboard chipset Intel 945GM chipset Centrino Yes STORAGE/MEMORY Amt of RAM 512 MB (max 2048 MB) RAM type DDR2 RAM Hard drive 60 GB Card Reader SD, MMC, MS, MS Pro, xD Optical drive DVD writer CONNECTIVITY Ports 4 x USB2.0; FireWire; RJ45 (LAN); RJ11 (modem); VGA-out; S-video out Bluetooth No Ethernet 10/100 Modem 56K data/fax Infrared No Built-in devices 1 x ExpressCard/54 slot Wireless... DELL Inspiron 6400 - all you need
Review of Dell Inspiron 6400 - Pentium Dual Core T2080 1.73 GHz - 15.4" TFT by  Aroli

Advantages: Good Desktop Replacement
Disadvantages: A little big for travelling

...Having moved into a small flat and needing to get set up with a computer asap, I decided to go for the DELL Inspiron 6400 as it seemed to have enough hard drive and RAM to be used as a Desktop replacement whilst still being portable enough to bring on family holidays to show the holiday snaps etc. I must say that 6 months down the line I don't regret the decision. After I'd paid for it and told a few friends that I was waiting for it, they started telling me all the negative things they'd heard about DELL and I thought "typical that you tell me now" and lost my confidence in my buying decision, but when it arrived and I started using it for everything from storing thousands of photos, hundreds of video clips, tens of thousands of music tracks, I was really happy. Since then a lot of people have told me they have DELLS and think they... Read review
