Aqua Vac Multi System 22
Review of Aqua Vac Multi System 22 by
Trev1000
Advantages: Very strong reliable wet and dry vacuum cleaner.
Disadvantages: None whatsoever.
...The best range of vacuum cleaners ever made has got to be the Aqua Vac range.
We've had loads of different hoovers over the years ranging from the little dust busters & dirt devils right up to stuff like the Dyson and the Vax, but I have never had one like the Aqua vac.
I have had the Aqua vac for about 9 years now and it's still just as powerful and useful as when we first brought it. If you've read about the Vax that we use these days, you already will have a good idea of the type of hoover the Aqua vac is. The only real difference is the motor size, the Aqua Vac has only a 1000 watt motor, but you wouldn't think it, the power is amazing.
When the wife got her new Vax a couple of years ago, I got to have the Aqua Vac for the shed, caravan and so on. I think the upgrade was just for a change really as the only thing wrong...

Vacuuming sucks: How to buy a vacuum cleaner
Review of Member Advice on Vacuum Cleaners by
DaisyRose
Advantages: Consideration of all features will make the search easier.
Disadvantages: Vacuuming is still a useless and horrible task, regardless of what you buy.
...and hand-held vacs, but I’m not going to discuss them here because they are basically just variations on the themes above. They are designed for light touch-up or spill clean-up use, not for heavy duty cleaning, and are used in addition to one of the above styles, not instead of. Unless you live in a really tiny space, the hybrids alone probably won’t meet your need for real cleaning.
OK, now we’ve got that out of the way, but there’s another important feature for you to consider: dust collection. You have two options:
BAG
• Until a few years ago, all vacuum cleaners had bags into which they deposited the detritus they collected. Vacuum bags are usually made of heavy paper, pleated in various ways. They enclose the refuse, so when they get full, you simply detach them from the machine, trot out to the trash, and dump them. Then put...

Vacs so you don't have to!
Review of Ecoh M-288 Robot Cleaner by
katkit
Advantages: Brushes pick up a lot of dust and hair, does it itself!
Disadvantages: Careful with charging it as the electronics are delicate.
...A couple of months ago I heard about the iRobot Roomba vacuum cleaner and became ever so slightly obsessed with the idea of owning one. However the main problem for me was the price tag of at least £130 for a later model.
Then I heard about the M-288 being sold by ebuyer, this is a chinese manufactured clone of the original Roomba and costs only £39.99, so I decided to treat myself hoping that this would be a good Roomba substitute.
When it arrived I got it out and set it going, after playing a jolly tune off it went in ever increasing circles until it hit the edges of the room then it worked its way all around the edges, then it does some random criss crossing followed by more circling and edge following.
It was brilliant! Picking everything up as it went along, the brush on the bottom pulls up any hair from the carpet...

M-288 Robotic Vacuum Cleaner
Review of Ecoh M-288 Robot Cleaner by
cport80
Advantages: Can be left to get on with the job. Fairly quiet
Disadvantages: Low capacity. Roller gets covered in pet hair.
...by the amount of pet hair which it managed to collect and the medium pile carpet looked visibly much cleaner. We were a little concerned by the amount of hair that ended up in the rollers but only time will tell how much this affects performance or becomes a new cleaning chore in itself. I suspect part of the problem is that the dust collector tray isn't actually very big.
Still the whole point of this device is to save you time by cleaning the floor while you go off and do something else and from this perspective, this device is definitely a success. It may not be perfect as it can't get into tight corners but if it gets stuck it sits still for a while, reverses, turns slightly and then has another go.
To my mind this is more than just a novelty gadget. In the same way that the dishwasher cleans and dries so I don't have to, this device vacs...

Do the shake n' vac and put the freshness back
Review of Glade Shake 'N'Vac Essence of NAture Citrus Blossom with Odour Neutraliser by
kiss_me2070
Advantages: Freshens and fragrances
Disadvantages: Scent doesnt last for very long
...I didn't even realise they still sold Shake n' Vac in the shops, until I noticed my boyfriend using the product at his, when vacuuming the house. I also noticed the rooms smelt more fragrant and fresher.
You may remember the advert which was remembered for the iconic dancing woman shown between 1979 and 1989.
The advert featured Jenny Logan dancing around a living room in high heels shaking the powder onto the carpet and hovering it up whilst singing a musical jingle. The main lyric is "do the shake n' vac, and put the freshness back".
In 2000 the advert polled 18th place in the Channel 4, The 100 greatest TV adverts programme.
The actual jingle from the advert is as follows: (This may jog your memory to remember the advert!)
Stale smells up here often come from down there, in your carpet.
Smells from your dog...

Do the shake n vac and put the freshness back!!
Review of Glade Shake 'N'Vac Essence of NAture Citrus Blossom with Odour Neutraliser by
gemrocks1
Advantages: Great lingering fresh smell
Disadvantages: One carton doesnt last long
...After vacumming the carpets and cleaning, some days i find the house never has a fresh smell its probably that my house is like picadilly circus at times with the kids and their friends running through it dropping everything in their midst. Familiar to some im sure. A few years ago i remembered a product my mum used to use when i was young and i'll never forget that advert - do the shake and vac and put the freshness back!!!
After using the product again after many years i have to say its still as good as my mum swore by all them years ago (well not that many!!). Glade shake 'n' vac is a product that you sprinkle onto your carpet leave a few minutes then hoover up its that simple not effort involved.
PRODUCT
Shake n vac is available in three fragrances although i dont think ive found a shop yet that sells all 3 fragrances...

Do the shake n Vac!!!
Review of Glade Shake 'N'Vac Essence of NAture Citrus Blossom with Odour Neutraliser by
kerryzach
Advantages: smells nice, freshens, cheap
Disadvantages: doesnt last long
...To be quite honest, I have always used something in addition to my hoover, to add freshness to my house. I tend to simply sprinkle fragrance oil sinto the filter of my hoover so add the fragrance to my hoover bag. I never actually found anything that would neutralise the smells which became stale within the carpet. We have all heard of companies that offer odour neutralisers. The most famous at the moment has got to be frebreeze. But to be quite honest, are they really worth the money you spend!?! Okay, so they work, and your house smells nice for a couple of days. But I always find that the smells come back. Then you do it again, then the smells come back. A week later, you have an empty bottle and have to fork out another £3.00 for some more.
I decided to try something completely old fashioned and tacky! Shake 'n' Vac. I remember...

Fruity carpets
Review of Glade Shake 'N'Vac Essence of NAture Citrus Blossom with Odour Neutraliser by
tarara
Advantages: Smells nice
Disadvantages: throws up dust
.... The reason for not using it on wet, or even damp carpets should be obvious, it sticks and turns to sludge! I know this from experience after shaking it all over the living room floor not having realised my husband had spilt a glass of water over earlier that day! But once dried out it does vac out anyway, just that you are left with a white patch on the carpet until such time as it does dry out. Unless you have some damp/wet places on the carpet then it does seem to all vacuum out, although depending on how good your vacuum cleaner is you may have to go over it a few times. I have neices and nephews that come and crawl over the floor regularly and we have found no problems from this. Apparently this can cause problems for animals, but my Mum has used iot for as long as I can remember and their dog is 15 years old with no problems, but I suppose...

The Vac From The Kettle Company
Review of Morphy Richards 71062 Performair Allergy Cyclonic by
donnamarie1975
Advantages: Excellent value for money
Disadvantages: None I can think of
...and are robustly constructed (if only out of plastic).
Morphy Richards seemed to have thought of everything. The vac uses Hepa filters, of which they have kindly provided 2, these have a lifetime guarantee. They are easy to keep clean, just rinse them under the tap and let them dry thoroughly. The bagless cylinder is easy to remove and by pressing a button your waste is released. There is also a little dusting brush on board to brush away additional dust. The dust capacity is 3.8 litres.
With 300 air watts and 2000 of power, the suction on this vac is good, especially if like me you have a pet. You can vary this though with a slider on the front of the vac, for non powerful jobs.
I must admit I do love my new vac, my house has never looked cleaner....
