Home-tek Ht834 Steam Mop... Fantastic
Review of Home-Tek HT824 Steam MOP by
b4rbienightmare
Advantages: quick, easysetup, no messing, cleans spotless, cheap, no soaked floors to dry, robust
Disadvantages: none
...I bought this steamer mop about 6 months ago .
I have mostly hard floors in my house, 1 very large boisterous dog and 2 mucky kids so I hate having to mop the floors.
I thought i would try a simple steam mop, I didn't want anything to flash or a multi talented steam appliance, I just wanted a better faster easier alternative to string mops and soggy floors.
The Home tek mop was a cheaper option than most of the other similar steam products It looked simple and straight forward but to be honest I didn't have a whole lot in faith in it becoming like a best friend.
I can honestly say I will never look back after buying the Home-tek Ht834 Steam Mop. Its fantastic, Its fast and easy to setup to use, always spotless cleaning and with no effort also the pads are washable, I just chuck mine in the washing machine and not had...

The mop that has a bite
Review of Shark Steam Mop by
Maxlarndison
Advantages: No harsh chemicals
Disadvantages: None really
...I brought the Shark Steam Mop a few months ago now and my experience with gadgets of the T.V up until now they have been pretty rubbish.
What is the Shark Steam Mop -?
It is a mop that uses steam instead of water to clean away grim and dirt and grease.
It is very light weight in fact it only weighs 3lbs
It does not use any harsh chemicals
It takes just 30 seconds to heat up.
How to use the Steam Mop -
Remove all parts from the box and follow the instructions and putting the mop together, it is very simple, it is just the case of putting the handle together and attaching the micro fibre cloth to the bottom of the mop, it has like Velcro strips across the underneath side of the cloth and has 2 strips on the mop so you can match them up perfectly.
You then get the small funnel and place it in the hole on the main...

This steam mop is superb
Review of Home-Tek HT824 Steam MOP by
Gary25
Advantages: Quick and easy to use
Disadvantages: As uses steam, take care with babies / toddlers
...Saw a similar but more expensive product advertised elsewhere so since we have a lot of wood flooring we bought this model recently to give it a try. You know what its like - you see an advert and it looks brilliant but when you try it, it is not quite as good. That is NOT the case with this little beauty.
To be honest, only my wife has used it so far but she is over the moon with its cleaning abilities. It does not leave the floor soaking wet as with a normal mop and bucket and so the job is done in less than half the time. It is also good just using good old plain water without chemicals - ideal if you have babies or toddlers. It is also extremely compact for storage and easy to operate.
We bought ours off a third party seller on Amazon - only drawback was the high postage but beats driving around the shops....

We Are Steamin'
Review of Home-Tek HT824 Steam MOP by
robert_parnham
Advantages: Good Idea, Does a Passable Job
Disadvantages: Cord too Short, Poorly Thought Out
..., microwave and R2-D2. Or the never ending commercials for a new diet or exercise regime that makes people with the waist size of Newport Pagnell look like Elle McPherson in just 3 and ½ minutes per day.
But these American shows have now spawned a new genre of made for the UK infomercials. They are basically the same as the American ones - solving problems which you never knew you had - but in a more 'toned down' manner.
One of these that particularly caught my eye was half hour programme demonstrating the new miracle steam mop which cleans ceramic and laminate floors without mess or marks. For the first time, I had to admit I wanted one. This was something I needed…I was about to see if operators really were standing by…I WANT this in my life….
That was until I saw the price of about £80 including postage. Then I decided the flash...

Top-of-the-range, powerful and safe steam cleaning
Review of Polti Vaporetto 3000 Eco Pro Lux Steam Cleaner by
FilmfanUK
Advantages: Top-of-the-range, efficient and safe
Disadvantages: Dried-on grease needs a helping hand
...high pressure, so that you really are cleaning with steam! Less powerful makes tend to produce a lot of water thereby making the whole process a very wet and messy experience, but the Polti is extremely efficient and leaves very little water to mop up, no matter how much you steam.
This model has a safety valve on the filling cap so that you can't unscrew it until the machine has cooled down completely (usually about 20 minutes or so; less if all of the steam has been used up). This safety device prevents you from being scalded. One complete fill of the machine in my experience generates enough steam for a good long session of cleaning, and there's a warning siren when it needs refilling.
The Vaporetto 3000 Eco Pro Lux model comes with a bewildering array of tools, including a spongee for cleaning windows and mirrors; a steel brush...

Compact Steam Cleaning
Review of Vax V-081 Steam Cleaner by
saffron318
Advantages: lightweight and compact
Disadvantages: Little storage for tools
...Hi have had my steam cleaner a week now and used it on a variety of surfaces.
This steam cleaner is very compact the size of a very small cylinder vacuum cleaner and very light, I could lift it one handed no problem. We bought ours from Argos for £59.95. It came well packed but was hard to locate all of 15 accessory pieces as some were stuck to others. In the end I managed to locate everything.
It has a 1.6L water tank that you fill with a jug and a small funnel. The water tank has a "child proof" cap that prevents you unscrewing when the tank is hot preventing burns but does make it a little tricky to open.
Once you have filled the tank with water you plug the machine in and wait. Mine took about 10 minutes to get up to temperature, although you can shorten this by putting hot water in the tank to start with. Then you...

Vacuuming sucks: How to buy a vacuum cleaner
Review of Member Advice on Vacuum Cleaners by
DaisyRose
Advantages: Consideration of all features will make the search easier.
Disadvantages: Vacuuming is still a useless and horrible task, regardless of what you buy.
..., and the Health Busybodies will probably bang on your door, eventually.
So take a deep breath and Just Do It.
I’m not going to address the niceties of mopping here; that’s the absolute ultimate in household chores I don’t even want to think about. What we’re going to deal with here, class, is...
Vacuuming.
Specifically, how to buy a vacuum cleaner.
WHY DO YOU NEED A VACUUM CLEANER?
Won’t a mop and broom do just as well?
Well, no.
Unless you live in prison, or some other environment with exclusively hard-surface floors, you need a vacuum cleaner. I have acres of hardwood, with some area rugs, and even that relatively small percentage of rugg'd territory demands frequent thorough vacuuming, thanks in large part to my dearly beloved cats, Peachy and Pogo. They are both short-hairs, very loving, and the sheddiest animals...

H2O Mop
Review of H2o Steam MOP by
parinshah
Advantages: sleek design, easy storage and use
Disadvantages: unable to remove stains form carpets and pressure areas
...bought recently from thane direct.
likes - very sleek design, very handy to use, user friendlt, not bulky at all, sturdy
works amazing onthe wooden floor gives shine steam cleans the floor very nicey. good use of steam to remove the spillage from the wooden floor especially when u have children.
Dislikes - not very useful on the carpets so far, does not remove your stain, does remove the more recent pressure areas but old areas due to weights will persist and will not disappear. i was a bit disappointed looking at how it works on the carpets.
overall I recommend if you have small children as steam kills carpets mites which normally persists after standard vaccumm but would not recommend if you are purchasing for stain removals on carpets...

Can this do the hard work for you?
Review of Home-Tek HT824 Steam MOP by
sandra102
Advantages: quick, easy, leaves floors almost dry
Disadvantages: Need extra pads (Quite expensive but reusable)
...I have Solid wooden floors in two downstairs rooms and laminate flooring in another two. With three kids (12, 10, 3) and me being a little clumsy I seemed to be constantly mopping up crayon, sauce, tea stains etc. I have neck and shoulder problems and find using a mop which requires wringing and elbowgrease very difficult. I'm a bit of a gadgetaholic and after seeing this demonstrated on a TV shopping channel I was convinced it would be perfect for me,
I thought it was a little expensive once P & P was added so price compared on line and got it from duck.co.uk with free delivery for £39.99 (bargain).
As soon as it arrived, I had it straight out of the box, very easy to put together and all I had to do was put the microfibre cloth on and fill the water tank.
The steam began to generate almost immediately and I was able...

A mean steam clean
Review of Polti Vaporetto 2400 Steam Cleaner by
LindaL
Advantages: Effective and environmentally friendly
Disadvantages: Expensive
...I bought my Polti steam cleaner around two years ago, then priced at £299, including the iron attachment and can honestly say it was worth every penny.
It looks rather like a large red cylinder vacuum cleaner, with a long electric lead and vacuum cleaner like attachments.
On first unpacking everything, it may seem a little daunting at first. There is, however, an excellent instruction book and very useful video to help.
These explain just how the Polti uses the power of steam, without any chemicals or cleansers, to remove dirt from almost anywhere in your home.
There are several benefits here-
Steam is more environmentally friendly than chemical cleansers and their packaging.
Bacteria is effectively destroyed by the high temperature used.
Long-term cost effectiveness can be achieved because of the true multi purpose nature...
