Good Vaio for Money (Get it?!)
Review of Sony VAIO NR38E/S - Pentium Dual Core T2390 1.86 GHz - 15.4" TFT by
IzzyS
Advantages: Decent spec., nice ergonomic design and feel to it, nice size, good value for money
Disadvantages: Touch pad and buttons a bit too close, the fn keys slightly dodgy (see review)
.../option...
Of course there is also the mains adapter plug/port, so you can use the laptop with the mains adapter plugged in and charge the battery up that way, as per usual. There are also two network ports, I believe these are for use if you were to cable a modem in or otherwise for use with network cables/connections, thats all I know, sorry im no real expert in these things but the main ports and slots I've already mentioned.
- Sony Site Spec. -
If you'd like to check, this link should take you to a page where the full technical specification of this Vaio model is shown from the UK Sony Vaio support site:- http://support.vaio.sony.co.uk/specifications/specifications.asp?site=voee nGBcons&c=0&s=VGN-NR&m=3374
- Pre-Installed Applications -
One nice advantage to buying a Vaio, even one of the cheapest ones like this, is that you get all...

SUPER SONIC SONY VAIO NR10 LAPTOP
Review of Sony VAIO NR10E/S - Pentium Dual Core T2310 1.46 GHz - 15.4" TFT by
donovan74
Advantages: DVD R/W, HIGH QUALITY, BEAUTY, GREAT VALUE
Disadvantages: DOES NOT MAKE COFFEE
...INTRO
I've been using Laptops now for around ten years and must say they are improving beyond belief in every way. I've owned many brands of Laptops that include Dell, Compact, IBM, HP and a Toshiba (most recent), I have always loved the Laptop concept and will now review my new beloved Sony Vaio NR10 Laptop.
LOOKING FOR A NEW LAPTOP
As with any other products on today's markets there is usually stiff competition and as far as Computers go it's more competitive now than ever. I began to look for a new Laptop last month in the January sales, which is the best time in my opinion as there's often big mark downs on prices and bargains to be had. Now the funny thing is I've always been a big Sony fan in every way (especially Sony Trintron TV''s) but never owned a Sony Computer or Laptop, so Sony was at the top of my list...

Sony VAIO GR414SP - the road warrior.
Review of Sony VAIO GR414SP - PIII-M 1.2 GHz - 14.1" TFT by
eduardob
Advantages: Stylish design and comprehensive features.
Disadvantages: Mouse wheel, powersaver control.
...I have been using this Sony as my primary computer for over a year now and it is the best laptop that I have ever had. Granted, it was really only in the last two years that laptop users could have enough power, features and storage to not feel like the poor relation to the desktop PC (and I have not used any other laptops in the last 2 years so keep this in mind) but I am pretty pleased with it. Let me explain why.
In the last 15 months, this Vaio has been in use almost every single day. It gets slung in the back of my car for the commute to work, it has been knocked off my desk twice, done 5 return trips to the US and been used for everything that I can throw at it - and only once been found wanting.
Let's get that dark day out of the way straight off the bat - it would have made 6 trips to the US, but literally the day...

Sony VAIO. You'll never need anythin else.
Review of Sony VAIO SZ4XWN/C - Core 2 Duo T7200 2 GHz - 13.3" TFT by
dbirse
Advantages: LIght, powerful, safe
Disadvantages: expensive
...My dad was looking for a new laptop as he had just changed his job and his old laptop was a company laptop. The old laptop was a Dell so at first he looked at Dell laptops as he hadn't had any problems with his old laptop and thought it would be a good idea to stick with them because he trusted their name. He then saw an article in one of his pc magazines on Sony VAIO laptops. He looked into this further, liked the specs of the laptops and their prices for what you get and decided that was the type of laptop he wanted to get.
VAIO
Sony's range of laptops goes under the name of VAIO. There are 8 different series of laptops each with their own specialities as such. They are: AR Series, C Series, BX Series, G Series, N Series, UX Series, SZ Series and the TX Series. These range from laptops for big business men down to laptops...

Sony Vaio the way to go!
Review of Sony VAIO GRT816S - P4 2.8 GHz - 16.1" TFT by
kepler3001
Advantages: Sharp screen image, high overall performance, great looks
Disadvantages: Continuous running of the fan
...I have had my Sony Vaio GRT816S for 3 months now and I thought that it is was high time I wrote a review about this marvellous notebook. Founded in 1946 Sony started out as a small company specialising in transistors radios, over the years their influence in the electronics market has grown and today they are probably the worlds most recognisable brand of electronic goods. In 1998 Sony launched their Vaio range of notebooks and these too have become the must have name in the notebook market.
The GRT816S is the top of the range model from Sony’s GRT800 range. As with most of the Sony Vaio notebooks it has a sleek and sharp looking design intended to lure looks conscious buyers like myself. It has dimensions of (WxDxH) 35.7 cm x 30 cm x 4.5 cm which is slightly bigger than your average notebook but not a major concern. It comes...

SONY VAIO - A stunning machine
Review of Sony VAIO PCV-RS122 - P4 2.4 GHz by
gusgusrule
Advantages: Fast, loads of storage, superb looking design
Disadvantages: Expensive
...Every three or four years I tend to browse for a new computer, I think its a suitable amount of time after which to renew a computer, as not only has new technology been introduced but it also come down in price slightly. I purchased this new Sony Vaio PCV RS122 in October of 2003. Before I got it, I had a Packard Bell. It was an older model with a 6 gb harddrive and about 96 MB ram, just to familiarise you with what I was coming from and for you to realise how impressed I was with the spec of this new machine from Sony. I made my purchase as part of a package and had it home within hours.
To start with I'll give a quick introduction to the specification. Its a 2.4Ghz Pentium 4 processor, and thus very fast, with 512MB RAM and an 80Gb hard drive. Its a cool unit finished in silver and makes the perfect addition to the home...

The Sony Vaio N505x
Review of Sony VAIO N505X - C 333 MHz - 10.4" TFT by
floatingclouds
Advantages: Light, looks great, and it's cheap
Disadvantages: Outdated, low specs, poor battery performance.
...>>>>
An important factor for any consumer to check. 64MB - small compared today's standards. I have never used the laptop to the degree where I have had to worry, but it seems quite ironic that my mp3 player stores more information than this device!
This may not be any consolation but you can upgrade the memory to 128MB (still not great huh?). The option is there and priced at £42.29 and can be purchased from orcalogic.co.uk - they are 'in stock' today (17/01/06).
<<<<The processor>>>>
I'm not going to pretend I understand all the technical side of computers but the laptop runs at 333 MHz and is a Intel Celeron processor. From my understanding the processors speed determines how fast it carries out instructions. Thus this is quite slow compared to today's laptops such as the Sony Vaio VGN-S5XP/B with a Intel® Pentium® M processor 760 2...

Sony VAIO CR21S/P Laptop
Review of Sony VAIO CR21S/P - Core 2 Duo T7250 2 GHz - 14.1" TFT by
lilyellowfish
Advantages: Fast, looks good, comes in a variety of colours
Disadvantages: Expensive, mouse can sometimes play up
...~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Why I brought the laptop
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I had had so many problems from my previous laptop, although I had only had it for 2 years - but there were problems with it right from the beginning. It was really staring to be unreliable and crashing all the time, as well it being highly annoying, I couldn't afford to keep loosing my work all the time and I was just waiting for the day for it to finally completely pack up, so I decided to go on the internet and start looking around for a new laptop. Originally I was looking for the cheapest yet good one I could find. By chance I ended up on the Sony website and advertised on the home page was this Sony Vaio. I instantly fell in love with it, so decided to check it out. This Sony Vaio is part of the CR Series and there are 3 different laptops which come with 3...
Sleek and Stylish Sony Vaio
Review of Sony Vaio VGN-N230 by
RazzaLazza
Advantages: Great price for a Sony, Highly aesthetically pleasing
Disadvantages: Gets dirty extremely easily
...I have always wanted a Sony Vaio laptop; as far as I’m concerned, there is no laptop out there that comes anywhere close to being as aesthetically pleasing and stylish as the Vaio. In white, the Sony Vaio is by far the most attractive laptop on the market, and when I saw this moderately priced white Sony Vaio sitting there for the taking, I knew that it was something that I just had to own. Macbook’s are similarly styled, however I have always preferred the Windows operating system so for me, a Macbook was not a viable option.
In the past, Sony have always priced themselves a bit out of the market by marking up their laptops at a higher cost than similar specification machines, however the VGN-N230 breaks with this tradition and has brought Sony well and truly into the budget laptop market which is great to see...
Sony VAIO AR51E Review
Review of Sony VAIO AR51E - Core 2 Duo T7250 2 GHz - 17" TFT by
ElistheG
Advantages: 17" Screen, Awesome Specs and a built in webcam
Disadvantages: Too much bundled software and it's also quite heavy.
...In this review I'm going to be covering Sony's great VAIO AR51E laptop computer.
Specifications- 9.5/10
The AR51E is a high spec laptop suitable for gaming, business, graphics, and just about anything, it has a 2.0 GHz Core 2 Duo T7250 processor, 2GB Random Access Memory, a massive 200GB Internal Harddrive, and a NVIDEA GeForce 8400M GT, and just to top it all off, a huge 17" TFT X-Black LCD Screen, with full HD and a 1440x900 Resolution, which makes for awesome viewing if you play games or watch movies. It also has 2 USB Ports, and a DVD+RW Double Layer Reader.
Design- 9/10
This laptop has a sleak slimline design, with a black matte finish, and the silver VAIO sign on the back, the screen is very reflective, which looks great, and thankfully in this case doesn't affect the screen when its on.
Software- 9...
